You do absolutely great work!!! I would really consider in the near future to start taking a deposit so that way if a customer cancels you don't take a total loss because detailing is hard work and takes true dedication to take on some of the monster jobs that it throws at you sometimes. You guys are awesome and a deposit is definitely worth considering

Ive seen a loaded condom and a straw loaded with cocaine. The powerful shopvac gsv I had at the time was hell though. I tell people to get their valuables out of the car because I got some powerful vacs and I go crazy when I start sucking up stuff.

You need to have customer agreement forms. and forms before you even touch the car. Stating that they will have to pay and forms that you look over the car and have them sign before so that way if something is broken. they can't say you broke it

Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use kzread.infoUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall.The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.

Before we start any detail, we always have the client come out so we can discuss their concerns about their car then write up an invoice and have then sign it so we know we’re on the same page about what’s being done and the price. If they can’t be present, you send them a picture of the invoice and have them respond “agreed” in text before you get started. Also if they do run off after the detail, you have the signed invoice as proof for them agreeing to your service/price. Never had an issue with any clients doing it this way. Hope this helps

I would have charged $400 . I get that now for far less messy interiors. And I’m in Anaheim CA. They have to understand that it’s a big undertaking to clean that type of mess which they caused. Time is money 💰. You guys did great work for the cards you where dealt.

If they really want to cut cost or save money then why not just buy a $100 pressure washer and snow cannon so they can just maintain rinse the car each time before it got too dirty ?.

Slow that extractor down so that it can do what it's supposed to do. You are going back and forth too quick. That forward movement only pushes that grime deeper into the carpets. Only backwards strokes are needed my man.

I own my family's business and my dad always used to say set the prices high enough that the customer says “ugh!!!...My wallet... that hurts! Okay here's the money” high enough that it hurts but they still pass over the Dough! 😄 hahaha that's when you know the price was right.

Paint Corrections + Ceramic Coatings are the big money makers!! Couldn't imagine doing Ceramic Pro outside though, it's already enough of a pain in a shop lol

I know how you feel about CP being a pain to install, which is why I had to let go of CP and find another certified coating company that works better indoor and out!

Always tell them price up front before any work is done, get it in writing so if you do need some evidence, you got it! Just protects yourself, even better if you have it in writing if they've agreed to the price before hand.

Always amazed at the motivation and attitude you have, it really is inspiring. Cannot believe the state of the interiors you clean, hats off to ya, but i'd be cleaning that with fire. I started my detailing business out of my parents garage in the east bay- Walnut Creek area. I’ve since moved on to a shop and don’t really see many cars in this state these days but even out of the business in the garage I would have said $500 easy, if not more. Two guys, in the CA heat, and that car is absolutely trashed. You guys are super reasonable for the time and work you put in. You provide a good value for people which is no doubt why you are so busy. Also- don’t sell yourself short. Any service that has paint correction in the title should be starting absolute minimum $1,000 in NorCal, I wont even consider taking on a project like that for less than $2,000. If you want training, hit up Keith’s Touch, or Shine Supply. But Keith Will teach you more intricate work, Jeremy mainly teaches the framework which you already know most of as a working detailer.

Was the interior of the car really dirty?

I use to clean carpets in houses and would run into brown stains all the time that wouldn’t come out right after cleaning. U can use a peroxide based cleaner such as proxy spray and walk away or any industrial peroxide base cleaner and in most cases will remove brown stains or lighten them up. I use a lot of enzyme based cleaners since majority of the stains in cars are organic.

This is my 5th year detailing, and now being my second year offering paint correction, you definitely have the skill to start to offer that service in your business!!, look into the torq 10FX polisher, it’s easy to learn and progress on 😀 keep up the work I love the channel

Dont waste your money on any paint correction classes. Just go out to the junk yard and find a black painted door or hood and practice on that. Save your money. It's easier than you think. Also, I wouldn't even have done that vehicle. I would of been around $500-$600 for it especially if I had to cancel/reschedule the next appointment.

@thelastm A lot of people tend to over think it. Find the right pad/compound for the paint your working with (all vehicles are different) tape the edges and rubber trim and just go. Comes down to pressure and speed after that. I have been paint correcting for 15+ years. I'm not saying I know it all either. Just people like to overthink it when it's way 0easier than they think.

I started practicing just hopped on dads 98 black blazer using griots g9 buffer their yellow buffing pad with their complete compound and finish with their red waxing pad with their one step sealant turned out like glass didnt burn through looks awesome definitely took a minute to get the right rhythm but after that its just time and concentration

I am a novice. I prefer the g15 or 21. That hi-buff polisher is hell though.

Love your stuff! Being a business owner I would suggest creating a contract within the walk Around sheet that client would sign off both the damages and defects of the car and the price after doing the initial walk around so that way its on paper.

Highly recommend the torq10fx for a polished to start out with! Super easy to use, lightweight and affordable

Old detail trick is to put vacuum or brush lines in the carpet after shampooing, it help distracts from stains that would not come out

I feel like in my area everyone competes against each other and they always low ball one another. Personally I would about 250 for an interior like that but I feel like other detailers in my area would go as low as 150-100$ for that. It’s a shame but I justify my pricing with the quality my partner and I do and the great products we use as well.

It is a shame that a lot of detailers low ball each other with pricing. There is always going to be someone cheaper and willing to do more services. I just wish as a community we had some set prices. Kind of like barbers.

Paint correction is great money! Find what products work for you and your volume. If you’re pressed for time, there’s awesome ONE-STEP options out there that will come out great. New subscriber, love the real ass videos! Keep working at your dream.

I know of barbers that make clients pay half up front and the other half at the end of the haircut so possibly you can have the client pay half of the detail before the detail and the other half at the end

I work at a collision repair body shop in the paint department. I sand down dirt nibs with 1500, 3000 on a DA,( 5000 if it's a darker color) and then cut and buf. It's not hard. But there a few tips and tricks that's good to know before doing it. Black paint is a nightmare. I dig your videos man you are a hard worker

Here in fresno california i do a complete detail were talking about complete interior paint correction n wax and dressing tires and plastics for $250 and big cars like vans or suburbans for $350

Try using shout advance set in stain(it’s a gel) and laundry product, but this product has never failed me from removing tough stains on car seats and carpet.

You always need to let them now that some stains will not be 100 % removed

I learned paint correction in my garage by myself. Easy stuff. Just make sure you find a grip for the polisher that keeps it flat. Make sure it stays flat. Dont wanna scratch the car. And watch for edges and slowly move over them with a motion that wont damage paint. Just pretty much buy a hood of a car. Or practice on your personal vehicle

Your partner was right, $400 for just an interior like that here in Portland/Vancouver Metro. I used to “negotiate” or second guess my prices, but when cars are that pad the owners know they neglected it… easier to set the price commensurate to the neglect, or walk. The way I look at it, easier to do 2 average condition interiors for 200 each that fight unknown stains, have to explain why you could not get them all up, etc., etc. Too many good clients to fight the bad ones over nickels and dimes. In the end, this one worked out, but that would have been an easy explanation to get $400. Love the content, you do great work, don’t sell it short.

im a detailer in the Bronx NYC and people out here are devious. i once had a customer that refused to pay me after spending 4 hrs on his car. he was satisfied with the work but thought i would be performing a paint correction with the pkg. i explained for $250, the pkg included only a exterior wash, not a paint correction. i showed him the menu with the prices and services he chose and he continued to play dumb saying that he thought he chose the pkg that included the paint correction. After i explained that a paint correction pkg and interior shampoo with extraction would of cost him $750, he became very aggresive and accused me of being crazy and that no one would pay that for a car detail. he also said that someone else quoted him $300 for paint correction, interior shampoo and ceramic coating in New Jersey!! at this time i was fed up with his BS and asked him “why did you come to me then?” and if he didnt pay me, he needs to call the police becuase im not handing the keys over to him. long story short, he paid. After that situation, i have learned that certsin areas and certain cars are not worth the headache. i do not take in anymore clients with beatup cars that are valued under $10K. my prices went up by 25% since then along with my business. im dealing with higher end vehicles and less work for more money. I make sure my clients know what each pkg includes and what to expect from each service i provide. i have atleast 15-20 cars a week i refuse and advise them to go to a car wash for what they want to pay. i do not want those people.

Back in the 1980's my brother & I had a detail business here in Tucson,Az. SS AUTO DETAIL..we weren't mobile back then..Our WORST customers were our own family..we stopped doing detail in 1995..

$180-230 for a Sedan in average condition. But yeah $350 is fine for this level of work needed, your pricing is valid! Keep up the good work! For paint correction just go out and mess with your vehicles and experiment if not buy a junk yard panel and see your limits.

Ask for pictures of the car prior to booking. Any bookings involving soiled upholstery where I'll need to shampoo and extract, I offer different tiers based on work time. So if customer states they only want a basic shampoo and extraction, only 1 hour will be spent on their upholsteries. Based on pictures I'll tell them what package they'll need so there's no surprises on costs and I can manage bookings easier.

I’m in Queens NY. All bookings are a 30% non refundable deposit from starting price, based on size of the vehicle. All clients are aware that the price will vary due to condition. Clients are able to reschedule once if they let me know in a 12hrs window advance from their scheduled time. When the weather is bad then that’s the exception. If we had to reschedule 3x, I usually offer them the refund unless they want to continue. Most of the time, they continue. My starting price is not the lowest or highest. The interior shampoo starts at $489.99. Been doing this since 2009, there’s nothing like Flex Bio( carpet solution ) & Flex Ice( in the water extractor ); and it’s cost efficient. Outside of that, I have three paint enhancements tiers. 1st Tier is Quick polish, I use a AIO like Rupes Uno or 3D Speed with a varies of pads depending on paint or the type of car make it is. Starts at $399.99 2nd Tier is a one step paint correction which removes a lot more than the previous tier. Removes more defect but doesn’t have a lot of shine like the previous tier. Price starts at $599.99. A nice sealant like Jescar Ultra Lock + or Meguiars M27 and 👌🏼. 3rd tier is a two step which removes 95-99% defect and brings back a lot of shine, with clarity. This starts at $799.99. All three tiers are always protected with two coats of protection. One sealant and one wax. For my last tier, I use Sonax polymer Netshield and their premium wax or Gyeon Can Coat and their Wax. There was times that I thought the car would need a two step and it ended up being a one step, when I saw the client; told them xyz because abc so this is why it’s less now. More than thrilled; some still gave me what the original price was, some gave me something in between. As far as speed wise, applying ultra lock + is fast and the wipe off is orgasmic. Flex Bio and Flex Ice…. Telling you bro, you will never go back to anything else. Only thing I would change is the extractor attachment for the Sapphire, makes extraction a lot more easy and faster. I found condoms and embarrassing things but I havent brought it up to the client since I did twice. It makes it awkward for them. I found needles and drugs, at this moment; it’s a biohazard…. The price just went up to $1,399.96. Hope this helps. Happy Detailing

Oh yea I’ve had a situation happen and a guy didn’t wanna pay. And kept waiting and kept pressuring him. Remember you always have their address to approach them directly. Needless to say finally got paid.

Also signing contracts could double as the receipt for repeat customers…. I had a client flake on a event I dj’ed and from that event on everyone except close family signs contracts

I want to buy a drill so I can wash my sofa and I want to know what brush to use should I use the same brush because the material on the stove for a totally different from the carpet

I don't do detialing anymore, but when I did, my process for setting prices was in this order ideally: customer reaches out to me they give me a brief explanation of what they want, condition of the car, type, etc. I get them to send over photos to my business number of current condition, then I build out my invoice using several templates because it was fairly standardized They agree to it or not, if they did, 50% down deposit via paypal, card, or cash (cheaper to avoid transaction fees) or sometimes they pay in full beforehand. I show up on agreed appointment, do the work, then either take pics or have them inspect physically and I do a brief walkthrough on everything I did as well as point out "troubled" spots that I managed to improve for them. It really solidifies the notion that you do quality work and you care about the client's vehicle.

As a prespray I use Saigers Code Red. I use it on pretty much everything. When it's excessively dirty, I add Saigers Tsunami to it. As my rinse, I use Chemspec Formula 90. The rinse is what you would put in your extractor tank. The prespray needs to go in a pump sprayer. I only clean house carpeting now, but same process for cars. I stopped telling people what I use on my channel cause competitors be watching lol. They trying to figure out how I clean so good 😂

To get those hard stains out like that on the carpet and mats, I gut out the seats, center concel and take the carpet out of the car and soak and scrub it with super clean, then blow it off with the pressure washer It takes around 24 hours for it to dry especially if it has alot of padding under. it's worth it though. You can't beat the results. I do seats like that too seats take a little longer to dry. Especially if you put everything back inside to dry. I'm in Colorado so it drys pretty quick. If your in a dry climate it works great 👍

Nice work, its definitely hard work to, that's why I pay to have my vehicles done, I just get the basic vac,wash, dry, arm, I pay 120, for both my car and truck.

and that why i would carry some carpet paint if you had some grey paint you could hit those stubborn spots after your done if the owner agrees and it would look like new!

Currently dealing with a loyal customer who recommends me to all her family and friends BUT she loves to try and talk me down. This is only my side gig as I’m active duty military. Long story short I gave her a deal on her large SUV and now she expected me to charge even less for her daughters car that is smaller. Even after explaining that I gave her a huge discount on a paint correction package and I can’t do the same for all of her family members she still is trying to negotiate. Lesson learned. Don’t adjust pricing for no ONE even if your are just starting out like me. The money is not worth the hassle. Especially for someone like me who is not a very “conflict person”

How do you know what prices are appropriate to charge in your area?

Just saw your video and I agree discuss the price before hand. It’s human nat to try and get the most for less but you have to be firm and it they don’t agree on to the next client. Would it be easier to have them pay you through Venmo or the cash app ? Or have one of those small credit card unit to take their card. Cash is always king though.
