Would the US military need help from allies to crush China?

Ойын-сауық

Following our last week's video, this time our focus is on politics and possible alliances in a war between USA and China. How would those alliances shape the war? How would they impact both the strategy and even tactical deployments?

True that. That’s why we haven’t seen a World War 3. Nuclear weapons keep the peace (mostly), conventional weapons are not enough to deter war, so that’s why in my opinion we should keep nukes. Without nukes we would have had more wars (including more world wars) and the world would be unstable.

The US military is not going to crush China except perhaps in a limited war. Both countries are on a collision course in the SCS, so a clash of arms there is highly likely sooner or later. Against US seapower, China doesn't stand a chance. US is not so stupid as to send huge ground forces to fight China on the Asian mainland, and neither side is MAD enough to start chucking nukes around. . . .If China invades Taiwan, as it says it will if peaceful persuasion doesn't work, it will find itself at war with USA. The same constraints will apply, so the war will be a naval and air war. Not likely to happen in less than ten years. Mainland China will be defeated unless it has second thoughts on the matter. China has few allies, and none which are naval powers. US has plenty, many of which are naval powers in their own right.

When invading China through the allies, the cooperation or participation of the allies in the war determines whether to accept or reject the cause of the war or the interests of that country, rather than the distance from China or the amount of damage. For example, Taiwan is closer to China than any other country, but if China's invasion of Taiwan is imminent, it will actively cooperate with the US proposal to attack China.

In a defensive war for survival, yes. In an offensive war for control, no. The reason the USA does not tend to "win" is that in offensive wars they do not commit to total warfare. Patrick Kazan The US had never had to go to full total war since WW2..... a fully motivated US would destroy any conditional army on the planet. The US controls the oceans across the planet and have force projection that dwarfs everyone else.... plus the fact that the US actually does have better gear and equipment it’s highly likely that direct ware fare would almost always end with a US victory.... the only time the US can “feasibly” lose is due to politics. The Middle East hasn’t been conquered yet entirely due to politics with Russia and a dozen other nations plus political infighting in the US. Vietnam was going in total swing for the US. For every US soldier killed atleast 10 or so Vietnam soldiers were lost. The US only pulled out because of the administration was seeing little to no need to stay And then there are nukes.... the whole “US only picks on weak countries” is a weak argument... every major country has nukes at this point making it impossible for conventional warfare so the US has to resort to proxy wars to weaken the influence of other countries. Every country does this anyways, it’s only that the US is the center of attention today vs 100 years ago The Middle East terror cells were also funded by the cia and may even still be so it’s again politics that keeps the US from every engaging in total war

Corrections! 1. Binkov forgot one key point. The Andaman & Nicobar islands of India can be used by the US to blockade the Malacca strait. 60% Chinese trade goes through this route. Many might think that the coalition forces might block the entire strait; but I believe there will be a partial blockade. Chinese shipping is heavily dependent on the Malacca strait. Going through Sunda Strait can be an option but again this will be a strain on the Chinese shipping. Last but not the least, If the capability of the Indian and US navy is questioned , then I must say these navies are among one of the most capable navies around the world and they along with the Japanese Maritime Self Defense force conduct Malabar naval exercises every year since last two decades just to counter the influence of China. 2. Russia would probably be neutral if India goes against China. This is because India is the biggest importer of Russian defence hardware. On the other hand China is a big ally of Russia against the US. It would be interesting to see how Russia reacts , but I believe Russia would remain neutral. This is my assumption; I might be wrong 3. The China Pakistan economic corridor would be a big asset for China if the Malacca strait is blockaded successfully . . . . I might edit some points 😅
