You might have cooler results if you untie the loofahs so that you can twist and wind them into whatever pattern you want. Might be a cool idea to do this for a tumbler or coffee thermos. Love the episode! You always bring a smile to my face seeing you get up to some crazy cool creative ideas in the shop.

Okay, Ben, as an artist, I appreciate your creativity and ingenuity, but… I think that lamp falls under just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Lol! I love the idea of using loofa for the texture and color, it might look cool with the light shining through it, as well. The fluffy stuff on the top is going to be a dust and cobweb magnet!

Haha, I kinda agree, but I think they're a lot of other things possible with loofa's that would look cooler if you ask me.

Unfortunately I have to agree here. It's a great idea in theory. And I think that's where it should stay. As a way to push the boundaries of art, I think it's great. As a way to provide light into a dark room, I think it's somewhat less great.

i mean also just use better materials than buying waste to make more plastic waste, although with the amount of epoxy fumes and lathed plastic strips im not sure this dude cares lol

Also it's flammable there's a reason why lamps use ceramic 🤦
you should get some bright (maybe florescent) colored loofahs and cast them in black resin, so when you turn it the colors would be streaking throughout.
I bet this would be amazing if the light was put in the hole you drilled. I'm imagining it radiating from inside the resin and loofahs. Could you try maybe putting a string of lights inside the center to see what happens?

Same! I was expecting it to light from within to show off the textures.
With the amount of close calls this should be your lucky loofa lamp
Its really neat that there weren't a bunch of air bubbles in it. Nice work Ben ❤
Still my favorite wholesome KZreadr out there. Sometimes I just put your videos on when I cant sleep and watch them till I pass out.

Love it! The swirls are so cool! I hope you do another one, maybe using a bunch of mini loofahs and turning them into a hollow sphere or egg shape to be lit from inside. Then all the swirls would be lit up and seen really well. 😊 Thank you, Ben, hello Nicole!
love it! here in Canada we call those bath puffs loofah is actually the insides of a gourd 😊

Ikr?! I want to say, a la Crocodile Dundee, “that’s not a loofah…” (brandishes real long gourd skeleton) “*THIS* is a loofah!” 😅

I'm from England and I've only known them as shower or bath puffs, too. Loofahs grow on vines/bushes don't they, like a type of squash?
@Wolfe_Metals_Stacking

They are synthetic loofahs, which is why they are called loofahs.

So cool! I love the blue loofah, it looks like swirling water.
What a fun project! It would be cool to use the loofahs and make a little pot with a lid to hold toiletries like cotton balls and cotton swabs. I think it would look really cool in a bathroom! You could also cut the loofah plastic open (it's usually tied with string in the middle) which opens it up into basically a long ribbon of the loofah material. You could then twist or braid multiple colors together! The possibilities are endless!

Peter Brown made a similar project 2 years ago where he cut the string off and turned a couple into a bowl. His wife even suggested putting bath bombs inside for a bath side accessory. If you haven't checked it out, I highly recommend.
I was worried that the exposed luffa was really going to cause problems, but I the end it came out great as always. Great Job 👍👍👍
That turned out really cool!

did anyone else see Ben in the mirror while wet sanding? LOL 🤫🤣 love this project Ben!!! Keep up the good work! ❤
That looks so amazing, I wonder how it would look if you removed the string, unwrapped them and cut them into strips. I think that it would be almost like a tie dyed piece mixed together.
It looks like it would be a nice gift for a young girls bedroom.
The sort of gift that gets ‘put away until you find a suitable spot’.
I think making a soap dish out of loofa would be cool! ☺️🛁🧼
Hi Ben 👋, the lamp is so pretty and completely cool. Have a great weekend.
The resulting lamp looks like it's going to Prom with itself. Cool!
turned out very nice!
Hiya Ben and Nicole! I very rarely comment but I just had to say I absolutely love this. I can definitely see an iteration of this being sold at Target. Just add a crystal shade instead and a disco/ color changing light and it's perfect for a bathroom/vanity table/powder room. Hope you guys consider making something like this again; refining the process. Let an influencer get hold of it and call it good. I most certainly would buy one!

It’s always fun to see you create something new, Ben! I have to admit as the lamp was turning the shape of it gave me lady in a fancy dress vibes so I thought it’d be hilarious if you drew a face on the shade. It’s a very pretty project for sure!
I like that. Very impressive. Never would have thought about using them that way.
Interesting lamp idea. Another idea I thought of is cutting the top off and make it into a lidded pot.
When you drilled the base I immediately thought "oh sick a loofah bong" lol
i was thinking it would be a vase! i didn't expected to be such a cool lamp, it's amazing. and i bet Nicole have to buy new loofahs as well XD
Very very cool! Thank you for sharing ❤
Now just sprinkle some glitter on the loofahs ❤️
Love the vlog channel cause its just Ben and Nicole havin a blast. The lamp came out pretty neat! I wonder what untying the loofas might get for results if ever tackled again

Hey Ben Fun project. I also see a nice vase for a bathroom counter. Take care 😊

Another great video love the patterns that where created ❤
Dang this turned out cool!
That's beautiful. Well done you.
Awesome project
Another fantastic project.......every one is a great hit....brilliant ❤
What a beautiful lamp that turned out awesome❤
What a marvelous idea! That lamp is beautiful. Great job, Ben.👍👍
Cool idea! ❤
It'd make an interesting lamp, for sure! Clean, soapy
I want a loofa lamp!😂
Lovely clean project 😂🎉❤
Pretty cool, Ben!
Neat idea!! Could make a Lava lamp shaped one too.
That is really cool!
Great idea, o like they result
Great work
I love the idea of this. I think you should do it again with only two loofah colors, black and white maybe, and encase the loofahs completely in resin and make the top flat
awesome video ben love it
so very cool Ben totally love it . 💜👋
Ben, watching your channel has reminded me of a good trick: Scoring. Now I learned this 22 years ago in elementary school art class when we were making clay pottery, but well, I don;t make pottery as an adult so I kind of forgot. But through watching your channel, and watching you score the blanks to glue on your waste blocks, I remembered this trick and recently used it do epoxy on the nosepad to my glasses. Previous attempts to epoxy it on have failed, I don;t think the epoxy was really holding on to the nose pad, but I think with the scoring, and epoxy getting into the little cuts, it may just hold up now. Thanks for the inadvertent help!
at first i thought u added the holes for the water, and not like, wires LOL very interesting project for sure 👀
I love it.

That is so very very cool Ben ❤❤❤❤
I hope you asked Nicole first...
This turned out really cool! If you cut them I wonder what you could do with the mesh? Maybe layer it with that iridescent stuff roll it in a big tube and make a lampshade?
Pretty cool idea Ben. I kind of thought in the beginning it might’ve been a water fountain of some type using the loofah and such. Always entertaining though.
This would have made an awsome bumch of flowers in a vase or ice cream cone. Love it well done
I thought you were going to put a light inside the loofas. I think that would have looked really cool. 😅 Anyway it still looks pretty cool. I love watching your videos. Missed Nicole this time. ❤❤
This is an interesting project. I was thinking about the similarity to trimming hair just before you mentioned it. I wonder what it would look like with a light shining through the netting.
Awesome lamp Awesome Video Ben's worx 😊 and I hope you are all well 😊
Love the loofah lamp! I'm surprised you didn't make a loofah shade. I bet you could!

Cool!😎
Plastic loofahs are bunched up tulle. You can buy tulle in rolls or by the yard. Then you can have more control over the shapes and easily mix together colors of the netted fabric.
Awesome
I like it, may have been able to save some lufa by running something for the bit to follow ahead of time, then tape of course. Not sure but came out pretty good for a first try and love the way it looks in the resin.
I understand why you stopped pot cam but I miss pot cam lol. Cool piece thanks Ben!

Well I'm excited! Thanks!
If you cut rope on each loofah, you can get each one unscrunched, then scrunch them all back together as one. I think it would lead to something more interesting.
It would be cool to see it done with deconstructed loofah. Get a bit more of a variegated look maybe.
I'd like to see another of these, with more loofahs of different colors, untied and twisted around in interesting patterns, cast into a solid blank with no poofs coming out, then bore out the center and make a bright multi led strip lamp with it.
Well that came out really cool looking!! Thanks for sharing. PS what scares me is that we've all been using plastic on our skin since loofahs came out women longer than men
This one turned out cute! Pun intended 😊
I think you'd get some good results if you completely submerge the loofah and then turn a vase or bowl out of it. The patterns of the loofah in the resin, especially if you put a light behind it, would look amazing I think.
Man thats one crazy idea but it came out great 👍
I like the base, no keen on it's hair do though 😂 Lit from below might cast some great wall shadows. Glad the base didn't come away while turning 😰 Thank you great stuff 👍Hope your both settling back in.
speaking of loofahs... i think getting a few pumice stones that have a ton of air holes in would be a good one.. especially with multi coloured resins :D
I have a suggestion! If you untie the loofahs you get long ribbons of the nets, I would do this and mix the different colors all around the resin!
I like this, but I think it would look even better with the light inside, shining throught the loofahs. This looks great though!
A cool lamp
Cool lamp

I’m thinking that you could take that central post (that the wire is running through) and wind an LED ribbon around it. Power that up as well, and you have a wicked internal glow.
Best way is to untie them and mix and match colours maybe a egg or bowl made from it.
Lol, yeah see Ben getting a list. 4 loofah. When he goes to the shop.
Hello Ben, I enjoy your content and thanks for uploading. I think it would be very interesting to see various materials being chiseled in slow motion. Perhaps you and the SlowMoGuys should consider a collaboration.
Like always your finished project is amazing but the real 🏆 winner is the music you use to show your finished project The lamp is very nice but I would've cut ✂️ off the fluffy stuff Maybe next time you could use only 2 colors black and blue on the bottom half blue and black on the top cut the same shape but cut the fluffy top off and make it a lid and hollow it out like a vase with a lid
I've tried this as well for knife scales I was going for a snake skin look. It somewhat worked but had to put a thin layer over after shaping.

I opened them up and twisted em thinking it would be stronger. You are alot more give and take then myself. Great work you make me want to try more
For a second I really thought you were making a bong >
My heart stopped a bunch of times with this one lol
I'm guessing either a lamp or vase. 😊
When you first cast it and were looking at the netting at the top, I was thinking maybe you could turn it into kind of a fake vase, with the netting as the 'flowers', so to speak. Not sure how to make it work for best effect though. This looks pretty cool as is.
I did Something pretty similar a few months ago. I made dice with epoxy and filled them with a cloth similar to yours but much smaller with holes like less than 1mm big. It is usually used to pack gifts. Sorry for my english btw :D hope it is possible to understand me

I love that the pink has the blue and green beside it, because my mom's favorite color is pink and my two favorite colors are green and blue. And then one of my best friends (who is more of a sister then a friend really), her favorite color is black, so double perfect that the green and blue are next to it :D
Love the loofah-lamp. Slightly disappointed that the top for the lamp is not from a lava-lamp. But it's gorgeous!
