You mean for wall thickness ?? I just use calipers. Tells you the wall thickness when you can touch or see both sides. 👍🏻
Excellent work. Im really, really curious which resin you're using that you can turn it in 24 hours. Ive tried minimum cure times and extended cure times on my lathe and had not so much luck. Chip out really badly etc. Im turning with really sharp tools too and curing in a pressure pot.
Nice you made a wood ball with a hole in it,but I do like the colour and finish
@JackMackWoodturning

It’s fully hollow my friend, 5mm wall thickness. Light as a feather , like porcelain. Not a ball with a hole in it 😆
Mr. Jack, I still get hypnotized watching you create. May I ask you, what is it that you use to put the shine on your art? Just a curious thought. I'm sure that it's quite different than using wood shavings to burnish some pieces, a bit different. Shellac is from insect "material", right? I'm only wondering if you make your own finishing products from scratch, or do you purchase whatever that product you use to make the shine glow like you do? Thank you kindly for your reply. An old fan, grin.😊
Cara, eu gosto muito de você!
Hi👍top job 👍🐝🌞
♥️♥️♥️
Another stunning piece - it's so beautiful.
It looked so much bigger when you started--then I saw how big it really was when you applied the cool shiny finish. I like that you didn't hollow it out and kept the inner wood visible from the top. Didn't need a color other than black.

3 hours in the oven on 140c Then left on the kitchen bench over night… I cut them to length on the bandsaw while they were green and then on the video you see my put them straight on my workbench, that’s the night they were taken home and dried.. the magic of tv 😆

It was a commission piece, one of a pair, I made the other one a few years ago and the customer wanted it to become a pair. The price was £795 per piece, hence the title $1,000

@@fastjazz As an artist myself, it saddens me to see how little you value our time, effort, and talent. You clearly don't know how artists price their works or how much something like this is actually worth. You're not just paying for the finished piece, you're paying for the equipment used, as well as the time spent learning the craft while NOT being paid. For the same reason that a 2D Vtuber model might go for thousands of dollars, despite the fact that someone as uneducated as you might think it's "just a drawing", something as unique and beautiful as this could EASILY go for twice the amount the commissioner paid, so really, the price Jack quotes them was more than fair. Maybe you should take a moment to appreciate just how much of a role art of all forms plays in our modern society, to give yourself a better idea of just how valuable our work really is.

This is definitely a beautiful piece, something different from the norm and beauty is in the eyes of the beholder keep going
First time watching your skill as an artist. Love the end result, but I cannot stop thinking about the waste from this turning. What do you do with it? 😊 wood is of course organic, but epoxy and resins - harmful to environment.
I love that finish you can really make it shine and it's probably tuff as nails 👍
I'll buy 10
How do you get the epoxy out of the bucket so cleanly. Mine always sticks, but I don’t have a pressure pot, maybe that’s it.
@JackMackWoodturning
8 ай бұрын
That’s not it 😉 I used machine grease lightly coated on the inside of the bucket. You can buy all kinds of demolding agents but machine grease is cheap and is perfect for the job, plus it keeps my roller shutters moving smooth so I always have it on hand 😉
