😂 Yes, I tend to agree with you there Exmouth. My swift response almost certainly served to minimise poor "Dave's" embarrassment at my little faux pas. Hopefully it never happens again 🤔 😂 Have you shown the photo to Mrs Exmouth yet ? Don't worry. I think she can be trusted. She won't tell anybody 🙂 The wind should be slowly subsiding towards the weekend, so maybe I can get out for a brief health test ride then. Hi Dave, so sorry for the very late reply but KZread put your comment on the naughty step for having "blocked words". Well I've read it multiple times now and I can't see any word worthy of blocking ! Anyway, it's up on the channel now at last, after I approved it. Thanks you two, glad you enjoyed it. Ruby does look cute when she is facing into the wind. She looks like a cross between Yoda and Dumbo. She looks like she could flap those ears and take off at any moment, bless her :) I was able to go for a nice ride on Sunday ( finally ! ), a gorgeous day and a really enjoyable local ride, just to test my health. I did have a slight setback the following day but nothing too serious. I think that I can ride now, as long as I don't overdo things for the next week or two. You can watch the ride in tonight's video, which also includes a completely unintentional appearance by "fetish Dave". Is it okay if I feature your W600 in a future video by the way ? Ruby really is so pretty and, as you say takes a great video, with the wind in her ears. I`m glad to hear that you got out for a ride and look froward to watching it, in due course. Hi Tim, I know. It seems as though, if she would just waggle them a little bit, she could actually get airborne 😂 The wind is supposed to be subsiding towards the end of the week, so I'm hopeful that I can get in at least a little ride at the weekend 🤞 I need to test my health anyway, so a little ride wouldn't be the worst idea to begin with. Awwww thanks John. Lovely of you to say so. Now that my health is on the up and up, it's surely only a matter of time before the weather is conducive to riding again. I have a few rides that I'd like to do, once the weather is ok. But for the first ride I will just do a short local one because I need to test my health first and don't want to overdo things right away. I'm hopeful that I can do a little ride at the weekend. Hi Peter ! Thanks ! Let's hope so ! There's a chance that I might be able to get out on a bike at the weekend, although by all accounts it will still be quite windy. But I haven't ridden for over five weeks now, so I am keen to get out on a bike again, even if only for a short ride. I also need to prove to myself that I can do it without relapsing. Hallo Stephan 🙂 Ruby im Wind erinnert mich an Dumbo und Yoda gleichzeitig, irgendwie 😂 Auf jeden Fall total süß. Sie mag den Wind wenn sie draußen ist. Komischerweise drinnen, hier im Haus, hat sie viel Angst und klebt mir am Bein. Die lauten Geräusche draußen machen sie irgendwie nervous. Obwohl das der gleiche Wind ist, den sie toll findet, wenn wir Gassi gehen 🤷‍♂ Ja, es wäre schön wenn ich am WE fahren könnte. Der Wind soll weniger werden aber ob es bis zum Wochenende erträglich wird ist fraglich. Schauen wir mal. LG aus dem Süden Garry & Ruby

So we both have our weather events. Today is so nice here I want to ride but guess I'll edit because I am working on a 7 day/episode ride and in one I have sort of a shout-out for you and Ruby. So guess I'll stop watching videos and go work on one. You are amazing!

Hi Corrado. Yeah. Not much hair left for ruffling here but Ruby's ears certainly make up for it 😂 The wind is dropping to around 16 kph towards the end of the week. Not brilliant but probably just about okay for going out and recording something 🤞 As long as my health remains okay, I SHOULD be able to get out on a bike at the weekend 🤞 although, having done no chores for over a month, I obviously have a ton of other things I should be doing instead 🤷‍♂🤬 Cheers Corrado and Arthur ❤🐕 Garry & Ruby

Hi Mike, was that the Fireball Yellow outfit ? I love that one, looks gorgeous and I did enquire what it would cost to get one made if I supplied the bike. Unfortunately Watsonian never got back to me. Probably couldn't have afforded it anyway. But that would indeed have been perfect for Ruby. I've noticed that she gets really excited every time I get one of the bikes out and I know that she likes riding in convertibles with the roof down. So I really wanted to get a sidecar for her, so she could come along with me for every ride, because I'm 99.9% sure that she'd absolutely love it. The thing is, apart from the cost, I've no idea how easy it would be to get one added to my paperwork over here. I imagine it would be a right nightmare and taking the sidecar off before every MOT is not really a viable option. But yes, that would be my dream. To get a sidecar for Buddy and the helmet and Doggles for Ruby and go off filming together ! 🥰 If I ever win the lottery I will just buy one, get it imported and get some solicitors to sort out the registration for me. Nothing better than cold nips in my experience Mark 😇🤗 No, I get your point. To be honest, I don't need it to be sunny or not cold, I just need the wind to be bearable. If it's too windy, I can't record live audio at anything above about 20 kph and if I ride that slowly over here, I will get run over, since we don't have traffic to slow people down. Basically here, my speed rarely drops below 70 kph and once you add 35 kph wind to that, the audio becomes very windy and not pleasant to listen to. That's my only real issue with the current weather. It's hopeless for recording my audio. Hopefully the wind drops here and over there you'll soon get some warmer weather for your nips 😉 Cheers Mark, Garry & Ruby ❤🐕

glad you feel better, guess you can finish off the rest of that bottle. but i have to comment on Ruby, i think Ruby needs two sausages! my mother use to say that she would buy two candy bars of the same thing, first one is to eat and the second one was to taste... I do not think Ruby tasted that sausage.

Hi Bill, thanks for that ! Very kind words. To be honest, I started the channel for me. I thought that the Meteor would be my last ever brand new bike, so I wanted to archive the whole journey with it in the cloud somewhere and KZread was where I chose to do it. Surprisingly, people started watching those terrible first videos and we gained a bit of momentum. After that I realised that all I can offer is to share my experiences with my bike ( later bikes ) and my dog 🐕 because I can't do epic motorcycle journeys and neither do I have access to bikes that I can review ( well, rarely do I have access ). So yes, now it's all about sharing my ups and downs of motorcycling ( and of Ruby's ears ) with a great bunch of fellow bikers who I now consider friends. So that's why I'm not bothered about counting views or subscribers. I know that there is a hardcore group of friends who are interested in what we are up to and it's for them that I make the videos. Others are welcome to join in of course but it really doesn't bother me either way. I just enjoy sharing my life with my new found biker buddies and also getting to know more about their lives as we go along 🙂 I really enjoy the whole experience of having the channel, well, apart from the editing because the bugs in the software can get me swearing a fair bit at times. I recommend saving your work at regular intervals to avoid the air turning blue ! I'm glad to hear that you've had some nice riding weather and that it hasn't been too hot or too wet. Since the New Year, the weather here has been really fantastic too. 20C in January at 1000m altitude is not to be sniffed at. It was probably 23-25 down on the coast ! But as I suspected, by the time I got more or less healthy again, the best of the weather was gone. Now it seems very changeable. Sometimes overcast, sometimes sunny, always windy and often with occasional rain showers. Temperature variance day to day is very unpredictable too. I'm sure we broke the weather Bill. It no longer behaves as it used to, that's for sure. Anyway, I am preparing everything so that I can ride at the weekend. I just need the weather to play ball 🤞 I'm planning a short ride and video, just as a health test. Don't want to do too much too soon again. Anyway Bill, if you made it this far, congratulations 😂 I am drinking my morning coffee and just chilling and I got into a flow with the typing. That was a great reply. It's good to tuck away a bit of future nostalgia on KZread. I did a few posts as Topaz Bill when I was sailing the Queensland coast a few years ago, it's nice to review it occasionally. Angel and Sophie are definitely do's, Italian Greyhounds totally spoilt like Ruby. They're age 14 and 10. I'm nearly 75 and love my Classic Red/Chrome, and have a cb125f for around town. Hi Ken, yep. I mean, for myself, I'd ride in that wind. The trouble is, if I ride, I need to record something, because I usually only get out on a bike once per week. If there is too much wind, the live audio is unbearable at anything above 20 kph, so it's really not worth attempting anything. I'm hoping that the wind drops by the weekend. They are currently predicting 16 kph for the weekend, which is not great, but it's not terrible as long as I keep my speed down. Still feeling more or less healthy but the weather is now grey, cold and windy. 🤬 I'll get out as soon as I can but if it's too windy it becomes impossible to record audio at anything above about 20 kph. For myself, I'd ride in the wind but if I ride, I also need to record. So the wind is always a big problem when it comes to recording. Mostly sunny here with light winds BUT 3c so 🤬 it has given me time to consider getting a Truimph Speed 400🤔 Twice the horsepower and a few Kilos lighter 🤔 We shall see😎

Hi Bob, I mentioned in the livestream that I really fancy one of the Triumph 400s but it would necessitate selling Buddy and I really can't bring myself to do that just yet, so I will have to pass. I think I'd go for the Scrambler myself but as I mentioned in my initial video on the topic, the Speed 400 looks like much better value. There is a big price difference between the Speed and the Scrambler which makes the Scrambler seem like significantly worse value. If I didn't already have Buddy and I had money to burn I would buy the Scrambler. If money was tight then I would almost certainly go with the Speed and be just as happy. Good luck deciding. My only concern is that the Triumph engine will not come close to having the character that the J-Series 350 has. Over time that might start to bother me. I do feel as though I would never tire of the J-Series' smooth pulling power. Cheers Bob. Hopefully we'll get some good riding weather soon ! Garry & Ruby

I agree selling the RE would be a big decision and not taken lightly 🤔. One positive is the dealer is a lot closer for the 400👍 I will go and have a look, but I think the change would only come if the tooth fairy left me a pile of cash or better still win the lottery and have both 😎

Ideally I'd keep the bikes I have now and add any bike I fancied but usually it's a case of either or, isn't it ? 🤷‍♂ It makes it really hard to get a new bike if it means that doing so would result in losing a bike you are still fond of. Since I love both Buddy and Norman, it feels as though my hands are tied at the moment, even though 2024 has brought many bikes I would be interested in ! Cheers Bob 👍 Garry
