Always good to see you out and about on Buddy. It's a long video though, it's late at night, so I promise to watch it all tomorrow. Don't pressure yourself too much with the video editing, I gave up long ago on 'consistency' and feel better for it. I'm sure that there are many others too who enjoy the laid back content of your vids.👍

Thanks CMD. Yes, it was a long one because for some reason I had a lot to talk about. Makes a change for me ! 😂 Like most of us KZreadrs, I put myself under pressure by setting myself a schedule, unfortunately. But so far we are hanging on. By our fingernails, but we are hanging on. I'd like to do some more lavish productions, going back to multiple camera angles etc. but they are more time consuming to film and particularly to edit. For now, being pushed for time, I am having to just keep things simple and it feels as if I am rushing to get every video out at the very last minute. Roll on July, when hopefully the rest of my life will have calmed down a bit and then hopefully I'll have a bit more headspace for being creative 🤞 Thanks Andy. Take care you lot. Safe riding ! Very strange, Garry.. In my little corner of the world all observatories are with big fences and armed military security. Ken is hardcore in every possible way and his bike is very rare find nowadays.

Yes. Here the observatory is a bit of a tourist destination. They even have a visitor centre. I've also been places up there where I wasn't supposed to be and have ended up having a nice chat with people who work there. Hi Garry and Ruby. I`m sorry to hear that you have had such a lot on your plate lately and not been able to get out on the bikes. That weather must have been horrendous, to wash all that crap out on the road. What a shame you couldn`t complete the road trip but there`s always another time, maybe on Norman. We have, at last, had some pretty decent riding weather here and it looks it is set to stay, on and off, for a while yet. I was really shocked to see those pics, hear that story about the W650 (Kylie) and also see the shot of Ruby, in the garage. To be honest, I had forgotten all about sending them to you, so it was a nice surprise. Dear little Ruby, hiding in the shade, waiting for her `sossidge` and I`m glad she didn`t drop this one in the gravel. Willow sends her love to you both. Take care you two Dave and Willers ❤🐶

@@economicalrides Ah, that`s very nice of you to say so mate. Yes, I have been for several rides on it just lately and went to the local bike night, yesterday. I have also joined the Royal British Legion Riders Branch and have been on a charity ride with them to Wells but used Ruby for that ride, so I`m making up for the horrible winter by getting plenty of rides in. I used to have a Jack Russell, that would sit in front of an open coal fire, with his front paws in the fireplace, staring at the fire, panting until he couldn`t bear it any longer, then retreat to a cooler place, only to return 5 minutes later 😅 Cheers Garry Love from Somerset Dave and Willers 🐶

Good video! 👍 Lots to see! The observatory buildings looked a bit 'moody' and sinister, reminded me very much of the GCHQ Dishes at Morwenstow. I'm intrigued at the stripey rods on the road edge? Snow markers maybe? 🤔 I have to say that i'm glad that i wasn't riding in the storm that washed those large stones into the road, that must've been some water! Thanks for the mention of me 'n the ol' g/s, when I hear the story narrated in public, I sound like a right 'anorak'! 🤣🤣 Still, it's only once a year, last weekend she had a baptism of mud again! Hi Ken, yes, the poles are to show where the edges of the roads are when everything is covered in deep snow. Particularly useful for the snow ploughs, to prevent them from ploughing up road signs, fences, rocks etc. I would say that it's pretty rare for us to have that much snow though. We had it once in the 18 years that I've been here and back then the snow plough did somehow still manage to take down all of the fences and road signs anyway 😂 The fact that you go to so much trouble to get the GS clean, knowing that in a matter of days it will be covered in mud again, is the thing that I am most in awe of. I've decided that Norman can stay dirty. I will clean him in the summer but throughout the off-road season I don't bother. No point. He gets covered in dust with every ride. I am so impressed that you still take the time to keep your GS so clean. I imagine that you do it for peace of mind. If you know that it was clean and looking great recently, you know that you can always return it to clean if you need to. But I do really admire you for going out and getting it all dirty again. You are not an anorak at all Ken, maybe just a little bit "strange" 😂 Cheers Ken, hugs to the girls ! Garry & Ruby

That road is absolutely diabolical - not what we're used to at all where you are. Shame your new helmet didn't work out for you but hope the new Scorpion suits - when it actually arrives! 😂 I was thinking that. I'm not sure that there were three large telescopes all along the side there last time, but maybe there were 🤷‍♂ Yes, I thought it would be nice to show you all that not ALL roads here have a beautiful surface Peter. Mission accomplished, although I did have to search for a while ! I am happy with how the chest mount is looking on the Meteor Peter, but slightly concerned that on the Himalayan I will be filming through the screen. I suppose that if I can keep the screen clean, it might not look too bad. We'll see. Norman is into his 'on-road' season now, just need to wash him down and then he'll be back out on the roads himself. The new helmet only exists im my mind. Should it ever turn up in physical form, it will be a real shock to the system. I've gotten used to not having the money and not having the helmet by now 😂 Mrs A. is a legend and James says that she enjoyed seeing Ruby so enthused by her generous gift, so we're delighted by that 🥰 Take care Peter. Totally agree Pete. That would have been my plan if I’d managed to get to the end of the road. Like you say, in mountainous areas you always get a very different perspective coming the other way. I will do that rather than ride on the motorway when we revisit this road 👍 Cheers Pete, Garry

😂 Hi Thimbur, yes. I am thinking about taking Norman for the next attempt. The trouble is, Buddy wants to go again and try to make it all the way down next time. So although I'd prefer to take Norman, I will probably give Buddy a second chance to tackle that road ( even if my spine won't thank me for it ! ). We shall return to this road soon ! Hi ,Gary and Ruby . enjoyable video . the storms had certainly washed the debris onto the road where you turned round . we have had so much rain that there are suggestions of cloud seeding . noticed Ruby kept in the shade to have her sausage .? .

Hi John, yes, Ruby is a clever girl. Once the temperatures get above about 25C she often searches for shade. But at the same time, she does enjoy brief spells of sun worship. Even when it's 40C she'll still lie out in the sun for brief spells - to work on her tan presumably 🤷‍♂ The really heavy thunderstorm was a couple of days before I set off to film this one. I was expecting the road to have been cleared because we'd had a couple of fairly dry days since. But clearly not ! Oh well, at least we will have to return now, so that's another nice ride that I can look forward too ! Take care John and say hi to Linda from Ruby and me ! Garry & Ruby

Thanks James. Well there was the shell of a nut and a lot of "nut dust" on the seat of the Meteor, so that seems to be the most comfortable place for the mouse to have a bite to eat ! Glad you didn't mind the video being so long. I did try to keep it shorter but it turned out that I had a lot to talk about ( for a change ! ) so I left the talky bits in and we ended up at over 30 minutes for once 🤷‍♂ It was a shame that we didn't get to see the second half of that road but at least it means that I will have to go up there again, so that is a ride that I can look forward to, once I think that they should have cleared the road for me ! Chilli says she is putting the cats on the train as soon as she can herd them up brilliant mouse catchers all of them. Mars bar or similar a little piece on the trap they can’t resist it. You have chosen the roughest road in Spain to ride mate, and a load of mud & gravel on the corner is not what you need. Stunning scenery though. Had a mate over here a couple of years ago who loading cases of beer in his van telling me “this is what you want brutha lane than 50p a can it’s not very nice but at this price you can’t go wrong” !!!!!!! 😳 love the old airhead Beemers my 2 were mint, no failure mate 🥴 chilli says hi to Ruby ….. the Normandie crew

Thanks Pete. Ruby says "Yeah, get them French cats over here sharpish 'cos them mice is too quick for me !". I might give the chocolate bar tip a go. So far the mouse is ignoring my English Cheddar 🤷‍♂ 😂 Yep, your mate sounds like Freddie Pete ! Ken does an amazing job of looking after that GS of his, particularly considering that he has already made it filthy again with some recent mud plugging. You have to take your hat off to him. That is indeed dedication. Doing such a great job of cleaning the bike, knowing that you are about to take it down a muddy trail in a few days ! Take care you lot. Always a pleasure. @@economicalrides had a mouse loos in our kitchen years ago in Somerset laid traps and he ignored them cheese ham sausage fruit nothing, rang a local exterminator who said he couldn’t come out as he was inundated, but said put a bit of mars bar on the trap sure enough in the morning we got him poor little bugger, My mates logic doesn’t compute with me never has buy quality buy once, buy what you like and enjoy, simple 🇫🇷

@@economicalrides i can understand your times of struggle during busy time. but, this injury is kinda made me be able to live like i could die tomorrow. i almost lost what i had grown to expect. walking, and movement on this earth. i am able to ride a motorcycle and the only hobby i had was the pipe. so i will always make time for that pipe and taking that ride when i can. thursday is summer! enjoy life

Well at least I got to show people that we do have the odd poor road surface here in Spain, even if you do have to search a fair bit to find one 😂 Norman would be the better choice for when we revisit this road but of course Buddy is determined to go again and get to the bottom next time.
