is it really that great, tho? it looks great, it’s got charm, and a unique sense I’d adventure… but the dungeons are rather weak, too many islands are boring or one-note, the pacing is off, and it was actually unfinished… 😑

I was soooo deprived of this game when I was younger. First, my parents couldn't buy it so I had to rent it. Second, I lost my memory card at the same time, so I couldn't save. Finally, I wasn't allowed to play my video games for a while at almost the same time. :( I finally played it to completion when I was older and sold my other games to buy it. Now that it came out in HD I was so excited I bought the Wii U bundle since I was working. So worth it!!

The switch without a question is end of life so this game makes total sense.

this was one of my first games and every once in a while i come back to play it. Very good memories 10/10

Beautiful. I have had enough about people bitching about graphics, Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, they're all lovely. I don't think the Zelda franchise has to have a fixed "style", and I like how they change it up, like Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask having your standard N64 3d look (albeit with better looking graphics than some other N64 titles) with WW having cell-shaded, cartoony and expressive looks, with TP having more dark and gritty looks, and SS being a mix between WW and TP. Stop complaining, and enjoy the franchise for what it is.

I remember when teasers for Skyward Sword started coming out and it BLEW MY MIND because I had always associated the attempted 'realism' with 'realistic' Link and the softer, more colorful style with Toon Link and assumed that that was a 'rule'

+Crawfly I thought the same when they showed it first yesterday. But then I found a comparison video and you clearly can see lots of improvement to the original. And if you compare it to Wind Waker, then you realise that they didn't do much more with it too except for the lighting, but if you watch a Wind Waker comparison video and ignore the lighting fact, then it's not that different at all. I think the graphic style of WW is just more timeless and it also helps that we all played the game already finished on a HD TV. Let's wait how TP HD turns out until March and I'm sure it will look much better on TV than we assume it for now. I can remember people not being convinced by the first WW HD footage either, especially the lighting (the biggest and best difference) wasn't that popular at the beginning. And tbh, the TP HD trailer really didn't show that much.

+Crawfly This isn't a remake either. All they did was changing the lightning in the game. It's way more difficult to make TP look better since TWW's graphics are much more simple. Imo TPHD looks pretty good and they still have about 3 to 4 months so a lot could happen! *Edit! Just read your reply haha. I'm glad you see the improvements now ;)

Sadly I think they will improve the graphics and sell each one of them separately to make more money

I played the original GameCube version as a child. This is my all time favorite game (and yes, I've played ocarina and majora's mask)

I love The Wind Waker, best Zelda game. Gorgeous graphics, beautiful story and a fantastic and memorable soundtrack. It was so great to re experience this fantastic game again in HD. Wind Waker HD is a great remake, I love the little touches that were made to improve the game and make the game more enjoyable.

I played this game when it first came out (2002) and I never thought they would make my fist Zelda game (and video game ever) look this amazing. I might've already finished the game once but I am replaying once again. Its just so damn AMAZING!

With Nintendo shadow dropping Metroid Prime Remastered (which is amazing), I have a little bit of hope they'll do this for the Switch. I have tuned into every direct for the past few years and eagerly waited for the Wind Waker logo to come up... but alas... I still wait to this day.

Wind Waker is the best game I have ever played, I'm so glad they remade it because my gamecube stopped working, I can't wait to get this game.

I remember on my 7th birthday I got a Wii u and I remember having this game on it and playing it. By far Wind Waker is my favourite Zelda game and the most nostalgic for me
