I think there’s a issue with the word core that was demonstrated in this video. People tend to think of only abs when core is mentioned.

@@newtonroberts590 while there’s truth to this. I just want to point out how hard it is to overcome our conditioning to certain words. Like the word core literally means the center but through whatever mechanisms is now synonymous with abs.

@@praga6553 Just to clarify. I’m saying that the video brought my attention to what people usually associate the “core” to. I’m not saying that this was an issue I saw in the video.

core stability is key. Also, use clips.
Very valuable points u made. Also, 1st guy would have not been in that situation if he took 30 seconds to put on clips

Yeah if you're benching or squatting, especially a PR, always use clips.

He has another video that talks about training stabilizers for each of the 3 planes of movement that mentions sample exercises for each and shows one. Also in a few other videos of his too. My notes have: 1) palloff press and/or palloff squat; 2) planks and/or zombie no hands front squat; 3) carries (while walking) like some shown here (progression: weights in both hands > weight in one hand > upside down kettlebell > weight hanging on one end of bar (on strap > with chains too > on stretch bands, etc)).
I ALWAYS try to work my core.
Your videos always help improve my workouts
Soooo uhhh. How do I apply to Squat University?
My stability training consists of not using pins on anything, especially on squats, that way I can see if my walkout isn't a mess too and also how much it moved after I finished my set, it usually doesn't move it if it does it's just a tiny bit.
Omg, I need that anatomy app, which is it?

Is this for the integrated function of the core? Because, their isolated function is different from one to another. I always wondered, where should everyone start from? Integrated or isolation function Thanks!

Those are understandable explanations, but that doesn't bring an answer to this question: how can a person who has never trained their core, with high coordination issues, even reinforce this body zone without completely wrecking themselves? I'm in that very situation.
Why did you do that to timothy? :P
Damn.....that shorts is uncomfortably tight af....will make note not to buy light colored ones so i dont accidentally expose myself
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Technique doesn’t falter to save and completethe lift. Form does Technique changes and adjusts to complete the lift.
First
Instead of a counter with your freezed face, just react silently during the video. This would increase the quality. Seeing your mouth opened with a weird counter doesnt have to be
I still don't think ur whole instability training idea is a good idea maybe focusing on range of motion of all angles and maintaining form are the core for strength growth
@tubax926
Жыл бұрын
Wtf no. The core is a stabilizer muscle, so if you want to train it for strength, you want to overcome instability. What you said is good if you want hypertrophy and contraction strength, but that does not contribute anything towards stability strength. Planks/isometrics, holding heavy weights and just moving in generally all contribute towards increasing the stability strength of your core.
