    Thank you always for the best contents out there. I was getting curious how left aic & right bc pattern will affect the neck and head. I have the left aic & right bc pattern and my right shoulder have limits when shrugging, i never felt the right lower traps working. But when i turn my head over to the right side a little bit i feel the traps working a little bit.

    This explains so much. The extra tightness in the muscles of my left back just pulled today when I was only doing reverse grip bicep curls with an EZ curl bar. I was like “WTF and how did that happen?!” The seams of my T-shirts also sit forward slightly on the front of my right delt, not straight across the top like the left. Weird.

    Hi Conor, I'm currently doing Beginner's Body Restoration, and now I'm wondering whether the exercises I'm doing fit my posture pattern, or whether I'm better off doing different exercises as mentioned in the article. Especially now, since I'm on week 5, there are a few exercises I'm supposed to do only on one side. Are these meant to fix the left AIC pattern? Watching this video, I felt like I didn't quite match the pattern. I went on to find your article "What To Do If You Don't Fit The Left AIC Pattern", in which you explain what to do when you're in this situation. I seem to have an oblique orientation with my pelvis somewhat twisted towards the right, my left hip more forward. At the same time, my left shoulder is more toward the back and my sternum more rotated towards the left. My straight leg raise is noticeably better on the left than the right.

I came across this video because I was searching for ways to fix my right shoulder, which doesn’t seem to have full range of motion in the shoulder pinwheel where right hand comes up behind my back. Conor, in some videos (about left aic right bc pattern) you talk about thoracic spine that compensatory (to pelvis that rotated to the right) rotated to the left with right shoulder forward. Here you said that thoracic rotated to the right. Where is the truth?

  • @huardjonathandale3488

    @huardjonathandale3488

    9 ай бұрын

    Both are true. We have the first thoracic spine compensation that goes toward the right with the pelvis. then in order not to be walking with the tronc turned to the right we have kind of a double compensation to turns us to the left. Its a fake rotation to the left.

    I have the exact shoulder limitations you describe along with the Right side tightness. However, some how my Right shoulder becomes higher then my left, and my Pelvis seems more oriented to the Left. I feel like I'm getting another layer of compensations with UpTrap / Lev scap/ rhomboid tightness on top of the initial Left AISC/Right BC, and then with the pelvis although the belly button faces straight the hip bone on right is forward/Left is back, And teh Abs are really stretched out on the left side vs Right side abs are really tight measured by distance of belly button to the hip bone... I guess my question do some people get another a layer of compensations on top of the initial stuff and then does this mean I need to do a different set of excercises first to undo the other layer before going into the excercises in teh video for them to be successful , Thanks.

    Ok, so I was looking through his videos to remind myself how to best describe my issues, as compares to left IAC pattern. I found his video titled, What To Do If You Don't Fit The Left AIC Pattern - How To Fix Asymmetrical Posture. This has just left me more confused, because I seem to be between the hip hike compensation and the full left shift compensation. Mainly because my hips do seem to significantly face left, and my entire right hip seems, when standing to be in front of my left hip, not just rotated. When seated it seems fairly clearly to be tipped more forward with the hips facing left. However everything not surrounding the hips is more like left IAC pattern; although my right shoulder compensates with a tight upper trap, and is sometimes higher than left, if I relax it so my traps are the same, it's like my shoulder is falling back, or like I'm in the process of putting a backpack over my right shoulder. In the video he mentions that when the compensation in this confusing it is best to use the tests, to figure out where you are, but I struggle with this, because, for me every move seems to progress evenly and I have a hard time telling what end of range of motion is. The only time I can objectively see the tension, is when I do the arm motions like the chinese cat toy it shows left AIC pattern. I think I need to either learn better how to do the tests or I'm actually thinking about taking these videos to my chiropractor and asking him to tell me what's up and what exercises from these videos will help me. He can at least tell me the "test results" because I have a hard time testing myself. I could use an adjustment anyway although it has not yet helped for long with theses movement and functional issues. DLDR: I am still confused, but his video titled; What To Do If You Don't Fit The Left AIC Pattern - How To Fix Asymmetrical Posture seems like it may help.

    Yes, you can get compensations on top of LAIC. What I've gathered from watching a lot of Conor and Neal Hallinan, there is always LAIC on the bottom, then PECS might layer on top of that, TMCC might layer on top of both, and then you can have a ton of stuff on top of those. If you have a lot of compensations, it is probably the best to seek professional help from a certified PRI coach. I similarily have a higher right shoulder. I did the self tests a while a go and got positive on LAIC but weird results on Right BC, probably due to the right shoulder being higher. I've been doing PRI techniques by mostly myself and while it has helped some, it still is very confusing, hard and quite discouraging to do it on your own, at least if you have a lot of layers of compensations, which I think I have.
