Some men, say they want kids. They get their girlfriend, pregnant. She has the kid, then the man decides it"s too hard being a parent. Then he leaves his girlfriend. He tells his friends, "she 'baby trapped'' me, I wasn't ready to be a 'Dad". The poor woman is now a single Mum. This happened to a former friend of mine, years ago. This is another way, men get out of being parents, if things get too hard. They walk away & the woman is left holding the baby !

Oh, those same men hate women who are parents, too! This is equal opportunity misogyny!

So refreshing to hear! While I was still dating I couldn't find a single guy who wasn't crazy about finding a woman in order to have kids! It was a disappointing and frustrating experience. They were focused on finding a woman who is ready to get pregnant rather than a woman who can be their partner and who has a compatible personality.

I'd much prefer to spend my time with the woman I love and be free to be with her and only her without any kids getting in the way. I'd love to be able to do a lot of interesting and fun things with her and have cool hobbies that we both enjoy. Men know that impregnating a woman restricts her. Being able to restrict women makes toxic men feel powerful. The more women decide to remain childless, the less power these insecure men realize they have. Also, men want to be the center--all the time. So shouldn't the problem become his now too not just hers? They say Things like well I have to pay for this! So does she and that's were the problem starts it's okay to waste her money but not his? How is that fair? Think about it if he didn't want kids he could have saved everyone by wearing condoms, getting a vasectomy or keeping his pants zipped up.

I consider myself to be very handy, fixing things, ( that are not electrical), plumbing, carpentry & basic repairs. My brother is a carpenter, but he lives in another town, kilometres away from me. He's also single, childfree & happy, in his 50s. 😊

For a certain number of men, ensuring there are children to care for is a way to assert dominance over her. They may feel their masculinity is threatened by an independent woman who doesn't follow the childbearing rules.

It’s because men can’t control you. How can men do that even if they wanted to? Women unilaterally control reproduction. Men have no reproductive rights and little to no rights over their children. Now that is a fact and what you feel is irrelevant. No child is born unless the woman/mother determines it. Men have to live with the consequences of her decision irrespective of what he wants. I think your mindset needs to move into the twenty first century. This isn’t 1950.

My former male colleague was jealous of me, being childfree,(he had 2 kids), he would make comments about me "being able to work weekends & he had to take his family out"(we were in different departments, so luckily we didn't work together.). He ended up leaving & going to a better paid job. Good riddance. I get a lot of hate at work, because I'm the only childfree woman there ! However, some of the older staff, have retired, (who hated me) & new staff have come in, who are more friendlier & accepting of my childfree situation. 😊 I'm enjoying my job more now.

@@Melly16yr10 The old staff were retirement age, 65. Retirement age, here in Australia, for women, is usually around 67, ( depending on what year we were born in). However, they could afford to retire at 65. The former male colleague, was 45. He got a job out in the mines, it pays a lot more than a job, he had, as a gardener. His wife didn't work, because of their 2 kids. The new room attendant staff are 3 women, they range in ages from their 30s, 40s & early 50s, they're also childfree. It's great because I socialise with these women as well. We're close now 😊

Hate is a strong word. Strangers don't care about you that much to hate you. I always feel wary of people who think so many people"hate" them. When in reality they may not want to live your lifestyle but aren't thinking about you or care about you as much as you think they do.

I was pressured by my best GF’s who told me I was selfish for not having kids. It was a lot of social pressure in all directions. As a mother who is finished raising two kids…. While I love my kids, if I could have done it over I would have listened to my inner voice more and never had children. It’s a thankless job with no guarantee that your children will turn out well even with your best efforts. Women take the brunt of children who don’t turn out well. So either way women are blamed and so you might as well live for yourself and not listen to outside opinions.

That’s such a hard thing to go through and it’s just as hard knowing that regardless of whether we have kids or not we get judged or blamed in different ways anyways. I can understand the connection of having a child, because it’s a part of you, but I believe many people forget that those children grow to become their own people. It has to be so hard to guide them in the right direction because there are so many different factors beyond one’s control that play a part in things. Like you said, you might as well just live life for yourself, because no one is ever pleased and we always have people judging.

Thank you for your comment. My child is profoundly autistic and very severe. He's now 22 and is able bodied, but has development of a toddler with practically no verbal ability, but no fear of danger or sign of self-awareness. Was in diapers until 11; took 4 times to finally get him to use toilet regularly. Was single parent doing it all, because ex abandoned us. I would never have chosen this had I even an inkling. I love him more than life itself, but my parenting experience was devastating.

I'm 43 years old I never been married for my experience I noticed that men don't like women being able to do what they want with their bodies with your time and your energy I can wear what I want I can sleep where I want I don't have to do anything besides take care of myself and that's a freedom that a lot of men don't want women to have

I am 22. I had my Tubal Ligation last year. Some men have told me they want to end me. The amount of hate I get for make decisions for my own body is really scary. I also find that it's 90% men on social Media who are against abortions. "It's not their body anymore!" is an argument that comes very often. A few years ago, I got some real hate from a former, single, younger than myself, male neighbour. I told him "I've never had kids, I never wanted kids, I don't regret not having any kids". He told me "you're not normal, there's something wrong with a woman, if she doesn't want kids & never had kids". He said he "loves kids". I said "I don't hate kids, just because I never had any kids". He was a 'hypocrite', because a noisy family, lived on the other side of him & he was always whinging about their screaming kids". If he loved kids, he wouldn't whinge about them. He ended up leaving to be with a single Mum, with 3 little kids. He now has a kid of his own. He's miserable. He told me, "she 'baby trapped' me". I said "yeah?! right, you would've told her, you love kids, so you made a kid, together"."Did you get a paternity test done to make sure it's your kid?" He just nodded. He didn't say anything, he just looked shocked.( Too bad !). We were in the supermarket. I just walked away from him.😊

As a childfree woman Ive often wondered where are all the guys who dont want/dont like kids (like myself) and want a woman who neither has nor wants them? I kept running into the opposite. Either had them (divorce, most often) and thought Id delight in having an instant family dropped on me. Eeeyyuuu. Yuck. It’s sad. Sometimes I still feel like it’s some weird dream! Especially considering all these things they want to pass that mainly affect specific communities…but never straight white men. All they do is try to stomp on women rather than try to create a better place. Many of us know the world we live in is no place for children either.

Oh I do have my personal forms of rebellion against the patriarchy but not having kids isn’t really one of them. I just don’t want kids lol I think that narrative is kinda problematic cuz it reinforces the idea that all of a woman’s personal decisions has do to with a man. Not all women want kids and for some of us that decision has absolutely nothing to do with men.

There are some guys out there who probably lump being CF in with "feminism" and there are some guys who are so conditioned to hate feminism that they lash out at CF women. Hard to say.

As a man people should only have children if they really want to not because of societal pressure. Thats why we have the problems we have now. Me being raised in a single parent household sucked. It put financial pressure anxiety and stress on everyone. If women or men dont want to have children they shouldnt have them! Its also better for the future of children!

I agree! I similarly grew up the same way and it was no walk in the park. Can’t imagine the type of life a child would live being raised in a dynamic where they weren’t even originally wanted in the first place.

Yeah is discrimination and it’s disgusting. The “men” have nothing better to do put talk down on women because they can’t pick on ones their own size. The amount of cowards these days is appalling.

I'm a man who respects that having children is a choice, and that there's nothing wrong with choosing not to have children. I've known the kind of men she discusses in this video, and I never understood how they could be so narrow-minded.

A coworker told me I need to have a baby to loosen my “V” up. He was a male and slipped that sentence quickly into a already in-progress sentence upon saying good morning. Like why do you care about my body ?! I said “excuse you”? And he said “nothing” and I said “that’s what I thought”. I work in a area of the hospital with low morale and unchecked bad behavior (the OR).

IMO, that’s how I feel the mindset is 99.9% of the time. Many married women parent their spouse in addition to the children and take on so many additional responsibilities and that’s not including the full time job they likely have as well! They really do make it easy!

Before I married my wife I told her if she wanted kids she was barking up the wrong tree.

1:50 soooo on point! Child free women aren’t threatened by whether they are married or not and this threatens men because it’s literally the last carrot that they can dangle. It’s the last thing that they actually have control over so when a woman dosent require it nor have the desire to have children. It’s seen as a threat.😂

I love how calm and collected you are in expressing the facts and your pov. These are the types of men who will be heroes to their daughters but be villains to their partner's dreams and independence. At the end, they will want their daughter to marry and have children as well. And she will be under the control of another man. This never-ending cycle. They get so insecure if someone choose different path than what deems to be socially needed.

This is awesome information.. I am a 65 year old child free woman. For the record, I never had any regrets about my decision to remain child free, especially after both my marriages ended in divorce and seem how much suffering people of my generation have gone through from having children. I have never heard any of this discussed until I recently started watching this and some other KZreads. It feels so great to know how many women now feel the same. However, I have noticed and felt a lot of negative pushback and judgement from both men and women over the years. My main reason for not wanting to have children was to protect the earth from overpopulation. Wish more people had felt the same, because the world population went from less than 3 billion to 7 billion since I was born and we are now experiencing the frightening results of the mass extinctions we humans have caused.

It's far worse to be having kids when you really don't want them, the kids lose out on that deal. Not everyone should be a parent. If kids aren't the center of your universe, then don't have them, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Some of the most abrasive "you must have kids" fanatics are likely miserable with their own life, stuck with their kids, and now despise anyone that still has an independent life that they secretly wish they could have.

That would be such a horrible realization too because there is no backing out at that point. Children belong in the homes of those who have the means to care for them financially, physically, and mentally. Too many of us out there are the product of having horrible parents and are now having to spend so much time healing ourselves instead because our parents couldn’t be there for us how we needed. I can totally see that! Jealousy is very apparent and often comes through the form of hate!

My mom stayed in a marriage with an abusive alcoholic because she was sure she couldn't raise me and my brother on her own. I refuse to get into that pickle: I'm proudly childfree and stay away from insecure toxic men like my father.

Nearly every childfree single by choice woman I have seen has been absolutely physically stunning.

Some men want kids, some men don't. Some women want kids, some women don't. I personally am indifferent.

I'm asexual, single and childfree (I also go to Law School in a great university and have great plans for my career)! I'm especially receive a lot of hate from guys because I don't date and I'm conventionally attractive. I am also fit and exercise a lot because it helps with my anxiety! I am 22, a virgin and just recently understood my own sexuality. I used to think I was straight, because I'd have sex*al fantasies, and bought my first toys at 19 and have enjoyed them a lot. But I didn't enjoy kissing and people touching me. People in my hometown still think I'm a lesbian (a lot of family members too)🤣🤣🤣. I've experimented and didn't enjoy kissing girls either. I've also had romantic fantasies with characters of my favorite TV shows. But IRL, I found out I am not interested in romance either and have broken a few hearts, not because I meant to, but because I would buy into the crap hollywood sold about romance, but I'd start feeling suffocated and didn't enjoy the physical contact at all! I also have a big family (lots of cousins who are as close as simblings to me) ,a brother, who gave me a niece who is in her late teens and a childless sister (I say childless because she does want children, but is close to her mid-thirties now, and while being beautiful, and she has bipolar disorder and Boderline Personality Disorder, depression, anxiety and who knows what else - so she had trouble keeping a boyfriend who can deal with someone with all her issues). I feel bad for her, because she constantly complains about having no children. So, I live with my parents because it's cheaper, while also working a part time job that lets me have enough time for Law School and for leisure activities! I love my life so much since I've come to terms with my asexuality! I also have an aunt who is childless (never managed to conceive) and single (not because she couldn't find men interested in marrying her, but she was always still in love with her first boyfriend and chose after him for a loooong time)! Anyway I've always known I'b be the one to take care of her when she's older, and I still intend to do so, I think I'll put her in a nice retirement home and visit her often, check to see she isn't being abused, etc!

That's always so hard to see! If you're a mom, you don't mom hard enough or do things the wrong way and you're a single mom, you didn't do enough and are hurting your child's livelihood. Meanwhile, we know and see from observation, that the women are almost always the ones putting in the most effort, time, and labour compared to their male counterparts who get off scotch free.

This year my coworker had a baby and she visited to show the little angel of (also had to make some copied to provide our boss, so she got maternity leave) and her husband was with her. She wasnt even able to leave him with their daughter for 5 minuts. he was useless. Wasnt even willig to clean her face and pick her up to cuddle. I was an asshole and laughed and told her she is a single mother. She was furious and he too, but later i heard that she saw that its true. I feel so sorry for her now.

I always thought it was strange how some of the ones that criticize those who don't want kids will say they're selfish, immature, insufferable, terrible, etc. So if they think that someone is that terrible, why would they want them to be a parent, ESPECIALLY when they don't even want kids to begin with? It's really strange

Before I started dating my girlfriend, she had multiple men leave or cheat on her because she chose to be Childfree. I'm dating her because she is Childfree. She's great, and deserves to be treated right.

This is a very good observation and honestly I can see this being true! I read an article earlier this year that discussed the idea that the reason we see men like this get so fired up about women not having children or let alone choosing them as partners is because they just see getting married, helping provide income (even though both spouses generally work these days) and creating children as the most effort that could be provided. Meanwhile, so many women out there, want more than that. They want an actual relationship with a genuine connection and less of a controlled borderline business contract. Specifically, with women who don't want children, they would have to work essentially harder because marriage and children isn't really the bargaining chip anymore.

​@@diaryofthechildfree Yes, that article makes a lot of sense, humans mainly want emotional and spiritual connection with their partners, and that takes work to cultivate that. I also think that some of these haters were brainwashed into believing that women are biologically programmed to want to have children, and that they are just playing with the children all day long, and that it's an easy job which they logically have to enjoy :D And at the same time some of these haters were also brainwashed to believe that they are weak men if they become stay at home dads, and their wives the one's who generate the income for the family. When I tried to explain to a traditional man that women who devote their lives to only raising children and taking care of the house and trying to satisfy their husbands are risking a lot, as one day their husband can turn into an abuser, and then the woman is basically trapped. He told me that women need to pick a good man :D I then replied that the husband could die, and that without a solid career it could be challenging for the woman to financially manage, and he said, that mothers always find a way :D At that point I knew there was no point in further discussing. But I would bet anything that men would not enjoy being at the mercy of their partner and being potentially trapped in a abusive household, they would not trade :D

I don't know what kind of men you have came across but men that I know love women without kids. Women without kids are more spontaneous and more financially secure As a man that is a blessing

I am a man and I absolutely 1000% LOVE LOVE LOVE childfree women! Always have and always will

I never realized this. For example, I had a colleague who didn't want children, and he waited until he was well into middle age so that he could marry a post-menopausal woman (which he did). I've never had a real desire for children, and if asked I answered "0 to 1".

Only those with strong stable families and community should have kids. I’m not the Antichrist I choose decency above anything.

Oh yeah. I’ve heard podcasts of men advocating for the mass genocide of women over 15. The Republicans are currently trying to end no fault divorce and there are also men out there advocating for women to be sold into sexual slavery to service the incels. A good amount of men HATE that we have independence and we need to stay very vigilant. There have been societies in the past in which women had the rights we have today and they were revoked. We cannot afford to think that these males are not gonna get frustrated enough to try to take our freedom away again. I’ve also seen comments online of men saying things like this. Shit like “we should just take their rights away again.” And don’t even get me started on the femicide rates in the black community. If white women knew how patriarchal and violent black males are you would be much more aware of how real this threat is. Black men are killing black women every four hours and it’s usually because of a woman trying to break up with him. I am a black lesbian and I’ve had to physically fight males several times in the last few years for refusing to have sex with them. I don’t ever leave my house without weapons anymore. I’ve also had issues with male store workers giving me bad service or refusing to sell to me at all because I won’t flirt with them. Where I live there is a large influx of men from the Middle East and African countries who are used to women playing docile and flirty with them all day and have the nerve to come to OUR country and expect women who are free to behave the same way. All it would take is for this mentality to become dominant in American men and we would have a HUGE safety problem on our hands. If I wasn’t extra vigilant and carried weapons I guarantee i would’ve be killed or graped by now. I say this as a warning to women who live more sheltered lives. You have no idea how much some of the men you walk by everyday on your way to work would kidnap and grape you if there were no witnesses and the threat of the police to stop them. We need to fight back against this rise of misogynistic attitudes in males and we need to fight back HARD because our liberty is in serious danger. And it needs to start with us educating women. We can’t allow these podcasts to brainwash younger women. Younger girls are too removed from the reality of what our grandmothers went through and they are notoriously unprepared for the reality of being a truly independent woman. When I noticed men refusing to commerce with me I immediately began getting into male dominated fields to learn some of these skills for myself. Men have wayyyyy too much of a monopoly on the trades that are necessary for the survival of this current society. And that’s another thing I’ve heard them threaten is to stop taking single female clients in these fields. Literally refusing to take plumbing or mechanical jobs from single women.

These men are not business savvy in the slightest. Kids are financial liabilities. If you want to make a profit, you need to reduce your expenses, not add even more. DINK lifestyle is actually quite financially responsible. Also, if a kid is just going to be treated as a problem that everyone gets mad at or does not care about, then why were they even born in the first place? As a male myself, men who hate childfree women will earn my ire for their lack of logic and lack of consideration that leaving women to be single mothers suggests the man did not do research on whether or not being a parent was desirable. Seriously, a woman cannot get pregnant without the involvement of a man in some way, shape, or form.

Very not understandable for people who are peaceful Also, there are already so many women out there all over the world who love children and want to bring them etc why aren't they happy with those? I hate anyone who forces their opinion, lifestyle, emotion, thought whatever it is on someone who clearly doesn't need them and didn't ask for any and they should just look at those that are already like them and leave those different alone! I really don't like such people, they're very much like those religious that feel entitled to convert the whole humans in this world to their religion, just very weird and strange when they can just stay within their group doing what they want, just leave others by themselves, that's why education on such matters the most more than any math class.

I’m a straight dude but I’ve always hated children, I get a fight or flight reaction around babies and I think they’re the ugliest things to ever exist, and besides my house is NOT child friendly what with all the venomous arachnids I keep as pets

Men want women locked down. With a child there are limitations immediately put upon you as a parent. The male just keeps dancing along, generally with no physical or sometimes financial obligations. She is stuck. No “life” 4 her.

All my life I felt like the "outsider" for not having children. I'm SOOOOOOOO glad I stuck to my guns bc I'm happier than I've ever been... and I'm at PEACE!! 🙌🏾💆🏾‍♀🙌🏾 ... 😂

I don't hate anyone, I don't judge women for being child free, I'm an older man, never been married, no children, long term single, i never wanted or saw myself as making a good husband or parent, it's down to choice rather than what society expects, we only have one life, we have to live it the best way we see fit, I have been told that I have no purpose, that's the opinion of those who judge me, I don't deny them their opinions, I was disowned by one side of my family many years ago, if they hadn't disowned me when they did, they would have done by now because of my status and my not meeting societies expectations, we are all individual, we make our own choices, we may regret them, we might not regret them

Thankfully for all the people against being childfree there are many who see it as a green flag! 🙌💛

For me at lest, children are in the category of "baggage." I would have married the love of my life, except for her four kids. I was not ready to take on that burden. When a woman tells me she has no kids, I usually take a deep breath borne of relief.

But what do they interfere with? They are the only selfish ones because it's not they who bear the child, it is the woman who suffers for it! Peace to those who refuse this suffering! 🙏

I'm a childfree man who prefers dating childfree women. Being childfree and having a partner who is childfree allows you to focus on each other and enjoy experiencing life together.

I personally take it as a laugh as I find their pestering as a jealousy towards my freedom and quiet time that I have so the more I get pestered to HAVE a baby, the more I actually pull away towards having one. I'm not gonna surrender under the pressure of others! I personally have all the skills to have a baby. Being born in the 90s myself, I have a clear understanding on how the world has become throughout the years. I was brought up with siblings and a large family, going through my own dark times due to certain reasons, but as long as I can remember, I've always said that I'll never have a baby. Not just because of health reasons but I just know the REAL struggles and what really goes into having a baby. But that being said, many women belittle ones who don't have a baby, as I'm the selfish one. NO! I just know it's not all rainbows and the joys of baby showers and gender reveals. It's AFTER the birth, that's when the real fun begins. Still, I'm not going to throw my life away just because others put me down or try to make it seem like nothing will go wrong and evvvverything will be fine with rainbows 'n cupcakes.

Child free straight women are unicorns. I have never understood the desire to breed, they call me a narcissist for not wanting or liking children. I think the need to send a copies of yourself to annoy future generations is far more narcissistic than my desire to have an enjoyable, quiet, financially secured adult life with the freedom to enjoy everything I work my ass off for.

Govt should pay ppl NOT to have kids like a carbon tax credit!😂

I desperately want to mother a kitten. I find them cuter than human babies. If anyone thinks that's weird, I don't blame them. I've always had a thing for cats, and think it will be much easier to raise and also will have a very small carbon footprint. Also, I absolutely love and NEED my downtime, lots and lots of downtime.
