That was an impressive demonstration. Easily matches the dirty strikes found in Chinese boxing, Karate, Jui Jitsu, military combatives. Might even surpass.

Seems to me of u miss the eye of the opposition u might have a broken thumb...think ill stick to the basics but good to know.thanks Tripple P

Paulie, thanks. Didn't know the thumb in boxing was intentionally used as much as you showed. I know with street fights, the throat was my main target that served me well. Still, even in bare-knuckle fighting, as least as far as I see it, they keep their hands mainly closed for striking. But dang, even with the hands "closed", as fast as hands move, it doesn't take much to aim that thumb's fingernail into the eyes, temples, throat, or just do some slicing with it.

Do you think that the boxing gloves being heavier and having more padding allow for longer matches (boxing matches can be 10+ rounds vs mma being 3-5)? Also, the larger glove makes it easier to cover up, but conversely can make it more difficult to land a clean punch because it can be blocked easier due to the increased size.

This is really awesome stuff! I've come to see some dirty fighters do these tricks and I can see how dangerous thumbing the eye can be. Muhammad Ali actually did it often.

I see you are little young. Back in the 1950 -60 boxers were getting "Kill" two to four fighters a month. So the peoples in the White House was going to stop boxing in the U.S.A. They came up with new rule like "Boxing Gloves" , and fighters in the day new how to put punches together that can kill you. I have seen a few of my brothers pass away from the boxing ring. Coming from the "Old School" it not that much more to said. The gloves today are "Great. I love my brothers in the "Boxing Game". Harold Weston

It would be nice of you if you didn't hold on to that awful untrue stereotype of yours that are Boxers are the most vicious fighters and the only vicious fighter and therefore because of that need to wear Boxing Gloves that protect the hand and cause brain damage by allowing people to hit harder. Because the sport of Bare Knuckle Boxing is making a comeback and that sort of thing you mention about poking is not happening and not even the UFC where fighters use their fingers 24/7.

He's probably referring to legal eye pokes, even in the MMA and Bare Knuckle Boxing there's instances of eye pokes happening in closed fisted strikes. It's not against the rules of MMA or BKB to jam your thumb into your opponents eye from a normal punch, only extending your fingers and finger jabbing is. But yeah I agree that boxers aren't the most vicious, any journeyman Thai boxer would just leg kick the heck out of the most elite boxing champions. Lord forbid those with a really bladed stance like Mayweather, he would quit on the stool before the 4th round (there's obviously more boxers with a bladed stance but it's quick example like using Mayweather as an example of amazing shoulder roll technique)
