I would love to see Martinelli moved centrally/rotated on the LW and we bring in a marquis LW and left 8. Would really benefit us.

we have never seen fabio viera- martinelli combination more than a 20 minutes for the everton game before martinelli got injured. and with in that 20 minutes we almost scored a goal, only to be disallowed because Nketia was offside

I think the solution could potentially be in house already , our LB undoubtedly will be Timber , LCM I am suggesting Odegaard, he's already a passer and a master creator and playing left hand side could unlock KDB like crossing from him into the box , the RCM then becomes ESR /Fabio i think White and Saka have enough chemistry to still be effective with a different midfielder there and we could also have ESR make overlaping runs to open up space for Saka to shoot , or through ball ESR and then he makes the cut back into the box ... Easy one. Poor Matinelli has 5 different players playing behind him, 3 LBs Kiwior, Tomiyasu and Zinchenko... then midfield he has either Rice or Havertz. Right side... White?Odegard>Saka. No wonder right side is doing well esp Saka. Id like him to play as CF like he does for national team

Can't blame anyone for our LHS problems. Nobody expected Partey to miss the ENTIRE season.

I agree with Bhavss - we need to solve the L8 as a priority. Until the transfer window I'd like to try a whole game where we move Odegaard left and play Viera right. But probably too late in the season to do that now - Arteta has had to go more conservative as we get to a point where we need to win every game.

comparing Martinelli to Son is spot on imo. Never thought of him that way, but I could see it. Makes me think that we need an actual winger more than we need a Striker. Kai, GJ, Trossard could play ST, but we only have Martinelli as our most trusted LW. He could play there, but it's not where he's best suited.

For the first 20 game this season Arteta played a slow buildvup system that nullified most of or forwards and midfield streaghths. The only reason Saka was close to last year's stats was the 6 pens he took in those 20 games. Last season we had only 3 all season.. Throw in Kai being a huge bust at L8 and the ever changing LB situation and you have the perfect storm that killed our left side. Things started to get better 2 games before the trip to Dubia. We started to open things up again and finally started to play to our streaghts and we started scoring freely. Another factor in the lefts problems was Martinelli's 2 injuries. Another problem is that even with the Arteta opening things Martinelli is having to play wide up against the touch line moving him even further away from goal, It's the same problem that happened with Kai. At leftL8nhe has to move a lot further to get to where he can do what he does best at the 9 position. It's up to Arteta to put these players in the right positions to get the best out of them and so far he has failed to do that.

I think Fabio/ESR on left 8 with Martinelli would cook. But then we’ll be less physically dominant in duels and transitions. Maybe

Raya, White, Gabriel, Saliba, Timber. Rice, de Jong Ordegaard Saka, Gyökeres, Martinelli We need a top winger to help with rotation. A TOP CM to rotate in CM See if Timber is good enough LB We have enough defenders to cover all the backline. 👀

ESR needs a proper chamce he can do it on the left perfect player to let Martinelki make those movements centrally while still having someone who can threaten out wide

I think we need a variety of profiles to solve the problem. A passer that releases Martinelli agaibst certain types of games, a winger the doesn't always need as much support to be effective like Nico Williams or Neto, and Timber to be fit with an option like Diomande who would be our backline swiss army knife next season. BZubi would be great as he could play the Jorginho 6 role wirh more legs and can potentially play as a passin left sided number 8

I think that would align with the plan a1, a2 and a3 idea of Arteta and those players have that market opportunity thing going on that Arsenal seems to prioritize.

Is it possible for Arteta to convert Martinelli from a winger to a striker, the way, I believe Wenger did with Henry ? Just a thought. He has the pace, the dribbling ability and the finishing, just maybe not the height ? What are your thoughts ? (And, I'm realizing that I asked this question midway through watching and you guys brought this up later in the vid.)

Bhav is on it for sure. Considering all the noise this past week not ones person bothered to talk about our left let alone how toothless the midfield is. Really felt Thomas Partey absence for so long i feel he would have somewhat catered to the lack of chemistry for the left. Not enough ball players of which Rice unfortunately is not.

I thinks its quite clear that he can't play there extensively. He'll always drift back to the right.

remove Theo from Leao in the AC Millan line and he might struggle. that kind of partnership and combination is what we need. our LHM is something to also look at. when Xhaka was around, he drifted to the left sometimes. revamp the left-hand side of the squad. get in FDJ, if possible Leao, and if we still can, Theo

Why doesn’t Odeegard just play on the left??!

He should move Zinchenko to the left side of the middle

Having that balance will avoid the lack of ingenuity we saw in these past two games

I need Arsenal fans to stop living off splashes in the pan. Martinelli great kid and all, over performed last season and that’s not his base level. The simple reality is he is not got the individual ability to impact games and requires multiple players to support him to make an impact in the game. Great squad player but shouldn’t be a long term starter on the left wing imo.

lets review Saka's performance against Bayern 0 goals, 0 assist, 0 shots, 0 chances created, 0/4 accurate crossess 0/3 successful dribbles in 90 minutes but he has still not got substitued. We should get a better RW than him.
