Nice explanation. I think it’s also important that cardiomyocytes is a different example of excitable cells and can also be recorded using patch clamp.

i will soon upload a video on cardiac action potential. Could you please help me by sharing my contents with your friends group/ college group. I put huge efforts in making these videos but unfortunately not a lot of people are watching this.

Amazing :D Do you know whether Neuralink is doing this careful at connections, or is it a more crude way? 😮

Dear "Animated biology With arpan", you are mixing up whole cell and cell-attached recordings. For cell-attach, the AMPA current is truly inward at the negative membrane potential. It is because cations flow from the pipette into the cell. But in a whole cell configuration, the same current under the same conditions will look outward, because cations will flow through the channels into the cell and then from the cell into the recording pipette. Thus, if your pipette is clamping voltage at -70 mV, it will begin injecting negative current into the cell in order to compensate the positive shift. This current will be INWARD NEGATIVE, which is equal to OUTWARD POSITIVE. So, the whole-cell pipette will record outward, not inward current.
