Who Wrote the Book of Psalms? Meet the 7 Psalmists, Including David

David is often treated as the de facto author of Psalms, but did you know the Bible names 7 contributors to this book?
David didn’t write the whole book of Psalms. In fact, only about half of the Psalms are associated with him-73 out of all 150, to be precise (though the Latin Vulgate and Septuagint credit a few more to him).
He wasn’t even the one who put the whole collection together: some were written hundreds of years after he died!
You can learn more about these specific psalmists here: overviewbible.com/who-wrote-p...

YaHUaH is the name above all names. Letters in the original ancient Hebrew pictographic YHUH have meaning of Y hand H behold U nail H behold. The name of the Father is in the Son’s name Yahushua and means YaHUaH is our deliverance - salvation. HaLaLuYAH Praise YaH Praise YaHUaH

I think one of Solomon's psalms was a prayer by David dedicated to his son

  • @OverviewBible

Good eye! It's not a stretch to think Psalm 72 ("of Solomon") was a prayer of David's, since the psalm ends with, "This concludes the prayers of David son of Jesse." (Ps 72:20) The "of Solomon" here could mean "regarding Solomon." On the other hand, it's also the very end of Book II in Psalms, and the first two books contain most of the Davidic works. Given the psalm's title and the line's placement after "Amen and Amen" in v19, that line is traditionally treated as the closing of Book II.

since David didn’t write Psalm 110 (it was his psalmist) and the Most High said to David (“lord”) (David is called “lord” in 1Kings 1:2/1:36-37, his enemies put under his footstool in 1 Kings 5:3, Psalm 18:36-38 & 2 Samuel 22:38-39) then that destroys Matthew 22:42-45’s assertion that David was calling jesus “lord”. which wouldn’t have made sense in his day anyway.. the NT contradictions are weighing it down more & more. i’m glad YaH woke me up to the real truth. He is the only savior (Isaiah 43:10-14, 45:15, 45:21-23, Hosea 13:4) and our knees will bow to YaH (isaiah 45:23) not jesus.

It'd be interesting to see how the rabbis of the first century understood that passage. I asked a Jew why they don't just see fulfillment in all these messianic verses with Old Testament characters. They didn't give me a good reason, but they were emphatic about it not being fulfilled already.

Torah, wake up, the old testament can be taken in two ways, old as being elder, , like a grandfather full of wisdom, or as being old and obsolete and the new is what to read only b/c the old is not of the goodness the new(what is in fact, today and in 1st c.e.,, the (christian bible) you know things but you should call the bible as the Jewish Torah and thatis what it is, it was writen for the sake of Abraham and his people only, But we are to love the gentle who converted as we love ourselves fellow jews, it sound (stuck up) to people that do not undrstand, keep studying and not of the evil 's like the you tube writings of the great atheist Aronrah , he can belive what he believes, he actually has the god given rite not to belive , but he talks of parodoxes as they are meant to be literally, he spends so much time and energy on proving god does not exist, i got it Aron, so the flood did not fill the grand canyon, i also feel that way, but i know there was a flood, and did much of what was said this guy does not ant to beleive that their was a food, many and not by rain, more like one body of water overflowing tinto a nearby pataue of ground that was below sealevel, like the facts found when god created the caspian sea from the overflowing blacksea or visa versa, can't remember which we have evedence of one aving a smooth wall were the powerfull ton,s of water filin it up and overflow, was it as far as noah can see, and killed the animals of that region from lack of food from the flood.but.

That's very arrogant, and typical Pharisee behavior. Christ was clear on NOT behaving that way... at all. The OT is taken one way, as it was meant to be taken, the old testament. Christ is the new testator.
