Madonna was an average girl with an excellent brain and she opened the way for everybody, in terms of putting up a show, reinvent herself, cross musical genres and set trends, break borders and prejudices... They, Prince and MJ, are the poker of Aces of pop music in the 80s

***** True, there were legends like Aretha, Barbra and Diana before the world had Madonna, Whitney and Janet. But like I said it was about Pop Music. It's true that Aretha is the first and the Queen but Whitney revolutionized everything Aretha did by putting rnb-pop to soul music. She mixed it perfectly and sang it with deeper emotions. For me she sings better than Aretha. I like Aretha but not all her songs are that relatable or amazing, when she sings it's like travelling to a maze, she makes me dizzy, you dont know if youre going up down or sideways and she's always full of yehh, yohh, uhhhh. too overacting

***** Though I love Michael, I still prefer Prince. He is virtuoso, incredible dancer and performer, has amazing vocal chops, did crazy music videos, and a great songwriter. But he was like R-rated and Mj had the general audience and Mj started earlier that's why Mj is more popular. I've always thought Clive davis was both a charm and a curse to Whitney.

***** Well for one, Michael had been around longer than Prince eversince the Jackson Five. And are you kidding me? Prince is famous in Europe! Well not as famous as MJ but he had platinum albums in Europe from 1982 to 1992 and 5 of it went to number 1 in the UK Albums Chart and his style of clothing was well praised by the Europeans. But the thing was, he wasnt that marketed enough by his record label compared to MJ who had Quincy Jones. The "Michael fever" was bigger than the British acts worldwide. But Prince trailed second worldwide as US acts followed by Springsteen, Turner, Madonna, Houston and Lauper and Richie.

***** Of course she was, she had Tommy Mottola! Well the thing with Mariah in Europe was that she was famous but not as much as Whitney. The famed Bodyguard songs lasted till 96, eventhough Mariah was already huge in the US at that time. But I dont think some Europeans didnt "dig" Mariah's style of singing.

markus winchester Michael Jackson and Madonna always were very big in Europe. Lot of people now know about MJ, but Prince not so much. I know every song Madonna has ever made, lot of MJ songs, but only few Prince songs. Mariah was big in Europe only in 90's, but as well lot of people hated her here (because of her diva behavior). Now young generations don't really know about her or her songs. Madonna is still very popular in Europe. Her tour is always massive succsess. Personally, I prefer Madonna and Michael over Mariah, Janet and Prince.

I got to see Prince in concert, and one of my best friends got to see Whitney. We feel lucky to have those memories of these incredible people - and to still have the chance to see Madonna, who we’ve both seen as well.

I've seen Madonna's Blonde Ambition, Confessions, Re-Invention, and Sticky and Sweet tours and it's an experience for sure. NO female, in my opinion, puts on a concert performance like Madonna. And her tours set the benchmark for so may other pop tours.

I think Whitney had a beautiful spirit. Was never a fan of her music but who can deny her immense vocal talent? Her case is a real tragedy. She didn't belong in that corrupt world.

It still makes me so sad that 4 of the greatest artists ever left us so early. Michael Jackson. Prince. Whitney Houston. George Michael. It is remarkable that Madonna is still completing a worldwide tour after 40 years in the business at age 65. The 80's really did give us the best of the best. Oddly coincidental, MJ, Prince, and Madonna were all born in 1958. Whitney and George were born in 1963. MJ, Madonna, and Whitney were born in August and George and Prince were born in June.

Tiffany Jackson can I ask you this question, why is it that you come on every video that involves Madonna and trash her completely, like she can't sing (even though she has a four octave vocal range and has uses perfectly vibrato and whistle register) and acts as if she just talent less singer who only relevant for taking off her clothes but her music, fashion, life performances, music videos, dances, etc has copied for every female artist for 30 (and no doubt 30 and 30 more) years? If you don't like Madonna that's fine but don't downplay her legacy knowing that she is truly one of the top most influential artists of all time, along with the Beatles, MJ, Mariah carey, Prince and Elvis Presely.

This is why I admire her so much. If she didn't have anything nice to say she didn't say anything. More people should of been like that with her. They were so many that would point out her flaws but didn't focus on the fact that her talent and her kindness was out of this world. if she wouldn't of had a flaw I would of never thought she was human because lets face it was hard to believe that so much talent was humanly possible.

@@Producciones-vc1uf True Blue contains 5 awesome singles and the very fun Where’s The Party, but then you have to contend with White Heat, Love Makes The World Go Round and Jimmy Jimmy. Also, there’s no consistent them sonically or topically to tie the album together. It’s just a collection of songs.

Prince was the only 80s artist that Whitney Houston praised all the time and Prince respect her a lot.

People have always tried to get Whitney to bash Madonna, with tabloids writing bs that Whitney was supposed to have said. Yet, no where on any records has Whitney ever maligned Madonna or vice versa. It's sad we cannot appreciate our great female talents without trying to instigate perpetual bitch fights!

Even though they all competed with each other on the charts, at the end of the day they were like athletes in the same sport, but they all had fans and all won certain games and life was better with them in it together than when most of them were gone. They respected each other even though they were still in competition for themselves.

Not true Madonna did a bed scene on stage in 1985 for dress you up at a Keith Haring mini concert that was a Homage to her friend then Andy Warhol. The video is on you tube 1985. Actually the album Like A Prayer was an Homage to early Motown hits.The Staples Singer had Respect yourself,I'LL take you there. Andre Crouch Choir sang on the album and Prince sang and Played Guitar and cowrote Lovesong. Prince who was very religious at the time had a falling out w Madonna over the like A Prayer video.

Some of this is true but mostly, not. The s as Blum is her rumination on Romantic love, religion and family. Not an ode to Motown. Every album she has has a song or two that are reminiscent of the sound of Motown and this one does too

I mean Madonna wrote her songs and everything by herself .. as artist Madonna, Janet , Prince and MJ etc they WERE true artists. Whitney is the greatest vocalist of all time, but that’s it.

They hung out in different circles and I get the impression that Madonna do not hang out with other big stars as she wants to the the center of attention. When she do hang out with them, it is usually with MALE stars like MJ and Prince, and even then, it is usually for PR purposes.

Prince's lovesexy tour in 88 gave her the idea of making that album of course with his help. (how you think she got the idea to set a bed on the scene... Prince was the best, a musical genius to the 1000th powert. No one person could do all that he did sorry. Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, John Coltrane, Theolonius Monk, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin all genius but could not do have of what this one little man could do. Josh Harlow Madonna was a wild cat in her early days, mate. Not only that, but a good sum of her affiliates consumed drugs. She has also talked about her battle with drugs and alcohol. She even talked about this with us magazine and q magazine. If self admission doesn't convince you that she has dabbled with all manner of drugs at her prime, nothing will. Not only this, but she made a statement that she would let her kids experiment with all manner if drugs as well.

Madonna said she have dabbled and experimented with drugs; but she was never a habitual user. She never had a "battle" with drugs as you claimed. If Madonna had a drug problem, as you insisted, it would be well documented on the internet; like the problems that Michael Jackson, Boy George and Whitney Houston have. But do a search and you will see there are no such stories about her so-called drug battles.
