Tanking in darkness because with devil's sight from the warlock dip would give you advantage on hits, protection from ranged spells, disadvantage against your already high AC with heavy armor and shield as well as a cover for the entire party to pop in and out of even if they don't have devil's sight. All as low as level 4. In a pinch you can even use the bonus action attack to heal another time with healing word or attacking a potion unlike the life domain unless they duel weld which costs 2 AC of a shield. Most of the healing in Baldur's Gate 3 in combat is more about bringing up a downed character rather than bringing back to full health. Spell slots are limited while potions are plentiful.

Years ago I played WoW with friends. I generally played a Retribution Paladin, and often tanked for our group (we had a ranger, cleric, and our lead alternated between warlock and warrior). The worst dungeon ever was when they told me to try being the healer this time. We're in some high level WotLK dungeon, all my gear is specced for DPS, and I'm a friggin' RetPal whose strategy pretty much consists of "hit it with something heavy until it dies." But sure, I'll be the healer so the cleric can try DPS. TPK the first time. But the second time, we succeeded.

In d&d, you play the healer to be the OP magic fighter. If you say it in session 0 & 1, it's somebody else's job. 😂

This reminds me of when I played league of legends as Soraka, back before she was replaced by a doppelganger. Everyone would get angry at me for how I played, at least I was able to hold bottom lane solo and fight off ganks. I was so good at her that right before the patch I got attacked by 4 players and I killed 3 of them, the last one got away due to one of his abilities and blink, funny thing was I was powerful enough as it was before I realized my mana ability actually dealt damage to enemies when I used it on them. I only realized that 2 weeks before the change. :(
