When does the B58 need an upgraded charge pipe?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video, we discuss the improvements made on the B58 that prevents charge pipe failures similar to what people experienced on the N54 and N55 engine, as well as the circumstances where upgrading the pipe could be beneficial.

Just wondering with your doc race kit, is there any downsides to having your intake pod filter exposed like that in the engine bay? Since it may be susceptible to sucking in hot air created from the engine in a confined space.

Hey kern, I have a question. In the case where you have to go 40-50% throttle and bring up the engine to ~4-4.5k with the oil temp only around 150 degrees (read through torque app), could that do any harm? I got into a situation where I had to do so, but only once. I use special tec 5w-30 which has higher levels of zddp btw. I might be over worrying.
