@@zeldatime840yeah, deer-related car accidents are relatively common and often unavoidable, but there isn’t really any reason to share the information that you struck a deer with a police officer unless it’s directly relevant to the matter at hand (i.e. calling the police after hitting a deer). It only serves to make you sound like an unreliable driver in situations like the first girl was in.

@@uzon193 It was relevant, they asked her if she hit a traffic pole and she said no, but I hit a deer before. She said that because her dad knew about it. Saying the truth would lead to her arrest immediately, she just tried to get away with it

He acted like a father and was there to help her. The simple fact he's making sure she's been held responsible for her actions will only make her be a better person in the end. Great job Dad!

Some officers deserve to go to hell, that trooper's one of them. "Why are you so nervous? I'm trying to figure out why you're so nervous" "The dog alerted on narcotics in the vehicle." Man, he's nervous because you're being overly antagonistic over a simple traffic stop. Calling in the K9 unit was an unnecessary use of resources and the search wasn't even conducted properly. I'm sure Marion Sr. did everything in his power to bring that corrupt officer to justice

Also, the law enforcement officer kept stepping into his personal space. When a man has authority and invades your space aggressively, it will cause nervousness. You have no normal recourse in that situation. The officer seemed to know this by his body language and continued. Opposite of de escalation.

To me it seems absurd that a policeman cannot freely check the car or the personal belongings of someone. In EU (in most countries) police can, and there is nothing wrong with that, I've been checked many times when I was younger, it's just little annoying, but it ensures that criminals with weapons, drugs, etc, get arrested promptly also as a result of a random road check, which is actually how it should be, but in USA you do all the opposite, you allow for people to carry guns and the police has to excuse for every behavior lol.

The last one is heart-wrenching. Nearly everyone is nervous around police officers. At no point does that give anyone a right to a search or detain anyone.

That’s when you know that a cop is a straight cop, when they have to arrest their family for breaking the law. Not many cops are willing to do this, most will just look the other way. Kudos.

I've hung out with enough cops to know that some have surprisingly fragile egos, but I've also met ones that you know that you can't present a scenario where they'd compromise their integrity. And, that also mirrors my military experience. Some people who wear the uniform or the badge don't deserve the honor. But, you also meet plenty that do.

I’m a retired police officer whose father was involved in an accident many many years ago when I was a patrol officer. FYI, he didn’t drink alcohol. I arrived on the scene. Everybody was OK but I had to call another unit to investigate and I had to step back. My father was actually at fault and he was cited. His one and only accident in 65 years of driving. God bless him. I miss him to this day. We were not above the law, we were there to enforce the law. He didn’t care and understood that I was doing my job.

I got arrested as a teen, my mom was an officer at the time, out of respect for her I never brought up her name to save her from embarrassment, I didnt want to make her seem like a bad parent because she wasnt. My dad was a cop. When I was 18, I got pulled over for going 70 in a 55. The cop instantly told me I looked familiar (I’m a carbon copy of my dad) and asked what my dad’s name was after he saw my ID. He told me he knew my dad and he called him, right there on the highway at midnight. My dad ripped me a new one, told me to get my ass home and the cop gave me a ticket. He told me he was gonna let me off with a warning but my dad told him I needed to have consequences. That was an expensive ticket and 20 years later I’ve only had 1 speeding ticket since then.

If you react so harshly to something potentially minor, especially if it is a first time offense, you drastically increase the chances of greater crime. I actually think the narrator doing too much with his reactions. He had every right to be pissed off that his son was arrested on an arrest order that wasn't valid. Trying to solve that is every father's right, not a sign of corruption.

Because they don't want to prevent accidents if it means costing a business some of their income and in turn costing the city some of their tax revenue. I agree that all actions have consequences, and I hope she never commits another DUI; however, isn't one of the benefits of having family in government positions to help show you the path of least resistance? The girl talked too much, she should have kept her mouth shut until her dad showed up, to give her the best legal advice he can. We want young adults to learn an unforgettable lesson, not ruin theirs and other people's lives. Like taking away her license, but hopefully keeping it off her records.

First guy: Good dad, good cop afai can tell. This has got to be unbelievably hard and the valid expectation towards cops to do their job objectively like that is a reason I have immense respect for the ones who hold themselves to these higher standards.

I feel terrible for Marion 😢💔 There was absolutely no reason for that search and arrest. I think my biggest pet peeve in life is people in positions of power, abusing that.

I loved when she was adamantly denying hitting the pole and the officer literally holds up the piece of her bumper to the car, like a puzzle piece, to prove it was hers

me too. i was put in handcuffs, had guns drawn on me and, "arrested" because the officers mistook me for someone they were looking for. i never got angry or scared because i knew it would get sorted out eventually. after they realized their mistake they apologized. when they showed me the picture of the guy they were looking for i almost fainted. he looked exactly like me.

Unfortunately he probably won't. He gave the officer permission to search the vehicle, and there is nothing(at least from what little of the footage we see here) that would indicate the stop was racially motivated. I do agree that the officer was not in the right, but he also didn't violate any of his rights.

@@Mhurocy Insinuating that canines will be released if consent to search is not given is illegal, an uncontextualized threat, and a manipulative tactic. Being frightened is not a crime nor an admission of guilt, therefore including the lack of reasonable suspicion for arrest in his lawsuit filing could help him win. Audit the Audit did a whole video about this case, its definitely worth the watch.

Fantastic parenting, as well as integrity to uphold the law. I cannot imagine how hard all of that was on the dad, hats off to him.

Well, it was beyond the point of her father being able to get her out of trouble. She was busted by a different police dept on video, and there was no way for her father to sweep it under the rug. But there's a more recent incident on youtube involving a corrupt sheriff abusing his power to prevent his daughter from being held responsible for DUI after she crashed her car in someone's front yard on her way back from a bar.

Last officers really stepped in it. It would be one thing if you crossed a law student with a father in the courts and they were crooked. They would still likely "get away" with whatever you suspected them of. This situation, however, is a clear search and seizure of a law abiding and educated citizen who was respectful and complicit, yet had his rights molested. I hope they get what's coming and the gentlemen is properly compensated for his suffering, and I don't say that often about these cases.

I feel for the parents. I was a troubled kid, but it never risked my parents career. These scenarios are a double edged sword and that's a tough scenario

I feel for the dad, the humiliation she's put him through, by lying, manipulating, trying to make power moves through her dad.... absolutely shameful behavior. Alcohol is life ruining, it's not worth it.

My dad was a cop. I was raised knowing that cops are held to a higher standard. In our family, that included all of us. If I had ever been pulled over for a DUI or something, the LAST person I'd want to see would have been Daddy. To me, the worst punishment in the world was disappointing him.

The officer in the last case clearly violated his rights. This is a perfect example of abuse of authority. There’s a saying that applies here, “absolute power corrupts absolutely”. The officer either didn’t like him or was just bored and wanted something to do, neither of those being a good reason to make an arrest.

Because when cops say, “let me help you” or “I can’t help you unless you talk to me”, they don’t mean it. They’re just looking for something to use against you. That last cop is an absolute joke. Accusing an innocent man of severe offenses with little to no evidence. Let alone violating his rights.

Last dude was clearly calm, acting appropriately while the officer was doing his best to find an excuse to arrest him. He even asked the officer to inspect the truck!!! He needed to sue them.

I am glad the father didn't lie for her and made her accountable for her own actions. He knows that she needs to learn from this. I respect him for being a great father,and officer of the law too. The other father was horrible and trying to use his power to get his grown son out of trouble.

I intentionally pulled into my friend property so they wouldn’t tow my car and called my moms as soon they pulled me over (I did have a history of gang aff, fighting, dealing, etc but this is all after I been tryna live right for a few years and my record was expunged which took hella work and cash) they took my car off private property with my mom standing right there saying she would take it, took me to jail wouldn’t let me deal with a bondsman so I had to pay over $2k cash to get out one of the trustees took my iphone and couldn’t get it unlocked so they smashed it, had to pay another $350 to get my car out of their impound, got them went to court and had to go take dui courses and shit when I didn’t have a dui. So afterward I’m thinkin I’m born to fck this whole town up go to try and sue these mfkrs and they straight up said “we have no record of you eve being pulled over here.” This after my hosie being raided and nothing found, and getting a letter from the next town over saying I’d I didn’t come pay my seatbelt ticket a warrant would be issued for my arrest… I never got a fkn seatbelt ticket 😂 fck the police, fck the government, and fck anyone that supports the sorry mfkrs the whole system a joke and it ain’t even a funny one😑

U.S. prison system relies on a "pay to incarcerate" system, the government pays private companies who build jails and get paid for every day every inmate is in there. The companies also get the government to sign a contract with them stating they are required to have x amount of inmates at all times and if they should ever go below that number then the government will be in danger of breaching the contract. This in turn leads the government to pass laws this encourage judges and prosecutors to go for the maximum punishment in jail time. The whole system is corrupt and the only way to fix it is from the ground up. But whens the last time the Government attempted to completely reform anything from the ground up?

It is extremely frustrating (even blood curdling) when you've been to court over something and you find out the warrant is still active. It happened to my friend and he actually got some money out of it because something hadn't been put into the system correctly causing the warrant to appear active; he was wrongly arrested, which honestly shouldn't happen.

The law student didn’t even mention he was a student,he just remained respectful as the trooper engaged in his bad behavior. Had this happened prior to body cams and dash cams,there is no doubt narcotics would have been planted. That cop was crooked as the day is long.

I was actually arrested for an outstanding warrant when pulled over. I had literally gone to court cleared the warrant and someone in the clerk's office forgot to remove the warrant. Still spent the night in jail. Car was towed. The next morning I was released after they figured out it was their mistake. No apology. No reimbursement. Just let go to pay the towing fees.

That’s a lawsuit! Same thing happened to the father of my children. He was illegally detained for a warrant that was suppose to be cleared 8 years prior but the clerk never cleared it after he had our the fines. He was pulled over & spend a weekend in jail, car towed & was required to pay an additional $800 bond fee. That Monday when he was released he took all of his court documents & receipts to the court proving he had went to court, paid the fines & cleared the warrant proving that it was all the courts fault for not clearing the warrant 8 years prior. They gave him no apology, no reimbursement, no nothing whatsoever! They even told him “ Well things happen sometimes that we aren’t responsible for”! That also told him that he should have just provided 8 YEAR OLD PAPERWORK the day of his arrest proving he was innocent. Those assholes don’t care about anyone but themselves & a paycheck! So that Tuesday he brought all his paperwork etc to a local attorney & ended up serving the courts for a civil rights violation & for false imprisonment & a few other things & not long after he received a very nice paycheck from the city for their crooked ways & for violating his rights. In the end they paid for his time lost while in jail, his lost $800 for bond, another $700 to release his truck from the towing company as well as a nice new vehicle just as a gift to himself for all the stress & problems they gave him & then several thousand more on top of that just because they were assholes! Moral of the story….NEVER allow those assholes to get away with violating your rights PERIOD! MAKE THEM PAY!

My father was a police detective and he told me never to mention his name if I was in trouble. A few times when I was pulled over for speeding I begged and pleaded to be given the ticket instead of telling my dad. No matter what, nothing would be worse than if my dad had to get involved because I was being stupid.

12:32 "You can look in there if you'd like to" 13:26 - the lawsuit is for violating his rights for unreasonable searches. What that cop did was wrong, and I'm not defending him. But Marion clearly consented to the search which makes a lawsuit unlikely to win on those grounds. The better grounds would be to sue over being detained especially for an hour when it was a pretty quick search. They had nothing to arrest or hold him on.

@@aminy23 Many black people are shot for saying "no" to an officers requests (or more accurately, demands). The officer was making threats of searching the vehicle against his will anyway by calling in narcotics dogs, thus the consent should not stand (similar to how someone consenting while threatened is not deemed as valid). The officer clearly intended to search the vehicle whether consent was given or not.

Officers like that are why dog searches are so scrutinized, clearly the dog was told to "alert" or he isnt doing its job correctly. The dog needs to be off the force for 3 false alerts if theyre that unreliable. Its just another tool for cops to force their opinion and will on people "legally"

I admire that dad. Too many help their friends and family escape the consequences of their actions. That girl was old enough to go out drinking, old enough to drive, yet the minute she gets in trouble, she cries for daddy. As a police officer's daughter, she of all people, should have known better and deserves to suffer the consequences. If I was the dad, legal consequences are not all she'd get. I'm also wondering if she told them she hit a deer or if she hit something else, and they just took her word for it. Kudos, to the dad!

Those dogs can be easily trained to accept cues from the officers, and the dogs have about as good as flipping a coin if they actually smell drugs. Most studies find they have around 40-60% detection rate, which means, it is probably horseshit science.

I'm a dispatcher not an officer. I say this just to preface the fact that I support my coworkers. With that being said, the officer in the last clip didn't have a clue and 100% was profiling that guy. He deserves to be removed or put through some remedial training, at the least.

The scary thing about Crooked Cops in Canada (at least in my area), they aren't legally obligated to wear body cams. Most of the time, people who are falsely accused or beaten by local police don't have the proper evidence they require in court due to this issue.
