He didn't try to abuse his power in any way, which is a huge indicator of character, didn't make anything harder on the detectives (except the cigarette) He apologized and had been on the force 15 years with only 1 incident. If you put in 15 years without fuckin up, yeah, you deserve a sliver of slack, especially when you do mess up, you're a model about it.

All this proves is that even a broken clock is right twice a day. He does not deserve praise. He did not go above and beyond his everyday duties. Post 1960s cops do not deserve repsect, but they do deserve to pick out their own tree for deprivation of rights under the color of law. Any cop that arrests anyone for "unlawful posession of a firearm," or any firearm regulations, or seizes property is infringing on the constitution. Any cop that arrests anyone for drugs, or conducts a military style operation on a person for growing plants is violating the 4th amendment, the posse Comitatus Act, and the judges are violating the 8th, and 14th amendments. I could go on and on, but bottom line is when cops are raiding churches for "public safety" in the usa for the 1st time ever i think its time to reach down deep and find our 18th century ancestors.

Oh you should watch the entire video. She gets way emotional to the point you can hear her starting to cry as she has to cuff him and put him in the squad car. She actually feels so bad she wants to cuff him with his hands up front but the drunk officer tells her no, because the people he hit were watching and she didn't need anyone to think she's not doing her job correctly and makes her cuff him correctly.

Seems they at least have some integrity even if he is seriously questionable for being drunk and driving in the first place

When I saw a cop behind me, the badge and gun would have instantly gone back to the friend. The fact that she had it in the first place shows how smart they both are.

I'm on the fence about it. I think his only saving grace is that he was a 15 year veteran and presumably at that point he had a spotless record across those 15 years. But on the other hand I feel like that loses his credibility to serve the public when he has broken the laws he's sworn to enforce. Idk, he seems like a somewhat nice guy, but such a dumb mistake.

A drivers license is for commercial use, if we were still true to the constitution and the rights laid out there in, one is not required to have a license to operate any personal conveyance. Drivers licenses are just another way to extract resources from you on behalf of the government.

you're glad a police officer was let off easy for a DUI? did you see the damage done to the vehicles? he could have just as easily ended up killing somebody ffs. the standard for adhering to the law should be much stricter for the people that are literally in charge of enforcing them, let alone a SUPERVISOR. ahh but he was so friendly, right? give your head a shake.

I was called to a domestic dispute at my next door neighbours. I sat while my buddy took all the statements and I sat quietly. As we went to leave to find the son I turned to say goodbye and that was the only time during the visit that they had actually looked at me and recognised me. If I hadn't turned to say goodbye they'd be none the wiser. They were mortified when they realised.

You know nothing about US police forces, because I can tell you first hand I know without a shadow of a doubt that the small town cops where I have lived could barely afford to buy their own gear. Which they have to do. Also, they got a 300$ once a year to get new clothes/patch up uniforms, etc. You're the one who has to be high lol

I remember living in a small town when I was younger. Everyone in the town knows who you are. If you get caught stealing from a store everyone will know you for the shop lifter. If you are a rebel everyone knows you for being a rebel. Living in a small town you want to have a good look otherwise people will know you for being a trouble maker.

I imagine this how the old days were in most societies. It's difficult to do a crime when so many people know who you are, where you live and can talk to your family about it. Probably less fathers abandoning their families because cheating isn't easy either. I can imagine so many benefits that come for it. No wonder modern living is dangerous and exhausting! It's so easy to get away with crime without feeling guilty about it.

Wait did Brandy not get charged for willingly giving her police badge and gun to her friend for food?? Only fired? That is actually disgusting if that's the case. Cops should be punished more than your average person for breaking the law in an egregious manner, since they're the ones who are supposed to have high morals and uphold the law. Also, Brandy is dumb af ong, she's an actual cop so could've just gotten the food herself. Edit: on the last one, how is it you can't become a cop if you've got a DUI, but you can get a DUI as a cop and still be a cop?

The laws might not be in place for that. Impersonating an officer is a clear and serious of fence but there is probably less of a legal ruling on helping someone to impersonate an officer or giving your police identification to a civilian. So I don't know but it could just be a legal loophole.
