The last officer gets 1000% of my respect. He handled the situation respectfully BUT FIRMLY stating his ground, sworn Oath and laid out basically that nobody is above the law and we all have to suffer the consequences of our actions!! I’m sure it not easy to arrest one of your own but the law is the law and no person regardless of rank, financial status, job title or other wise is exempt from DWI.

Then later that night, he responded to them in a fatal crash because they were speeding. I cannot imagine how those officers feel. You dont wanna hurt someone for life, so you give them a warning. Not knowing that it will hurt them for life, if the person wont learn from their mistakes.

You can't arrest based off the PBT, the arrest is made based off the Field Sobriety Tests. The trooper didn't see enough clues to arrest for DUI, so at that point the PBT didn't matter. Even if she blew 10x the legal limit it wouldn't matter, that PBT can't be used as evidence of her guilt.

I was speeding 104MPH in a 45MPH zone and my ticket was $1,776.. It wasn't worth it people. The really sad part is the motorcycle cop that ticketed me died in an accident a month after I went to court for my ticket. If I continued the court case I could have got off scot-free since he would not have shown up. Unless it works differently in the court system? His name was Officer Lawrence Canfield. He died at 43 years old.

1:04 but the cop is enjoying it, cause he has some resentment or something, he was waiting for a moment like this. Fell the joy in the voice and the gossip.

Here's a fun true story. Back in the late 90s, a police officer on the Florida panhandle pulled someone over for DUI. And this is an area where everyone and their grandma drank and drove all the time. So the fact that this guy got the **** end of the stick was somewhat bizarre in and of itself. The man swore that he hadn't been drinking any booze but he still showed that he had alcohol in his system. Whether or not he was over the limit, i don't know. My familiarity with this case comes from people on the end of things we're about to get to. The only beverage they found in his vehicle was a slurpee like natural fruit drink. They surmised that he had put alcohol in it as was and probably still is a common behavior. But he insisted that he hadn't. So they had to go to the EZ Serve (where a friend of mine worked but thankfully played no part in this incident) to see if anyone had spiked the drinks. And it turned out that a 2 or 3 month old bag of syrup had gotten mixed in with the new bags and it had fermented. On one hand, it showed how unlucky the man had been. On the other hand, it showed that their fruit drink really is made from natural ingredients. Anyway, i learned about it because i went there to get a drink from that very machine. My friend was manager of the later shift. I noticed that kids were practically lining up to buy drinks from that machine and she was happy to sell them. She told me word had gotten out and the kids thought they were buying alcohol but by then the police had taken the bag as evidence and the machine had been thoroughly cleaned out by then and everyone was unknowingly just buying regular drinks. 😄

Love how the first cop admits on camera that he's only giving his boss a ticket because he doesn't like him. If they were buddies he would've let it slide.

As a new mexican I have personally known police corruption first hand but as someone that appreciates law enforcement I always assumed it was proportionally about the same as most places until I started watching varies channels like this, it seems like new mexico gets called out more than most states even ones with higher capitol. Problem is, he may have only done this because he didn't want to threaten his career/job because of body camera footage. It's a blessing that needs to be mandatory at ALL times in my opinion for this exact reason. The only people that would oppose this are people that want to skirt the law.

I don't understand how it's even legal NOT to terminate any LEO that not only gets a DUI, but also attempts to circumvent the system by coercing an acting LEO to break the law. Absolutely obsurd.

I've learned over the years that people who have real ethics that they live by through sheer belief in them without needing anyone to encourage them are rare. Rare enough that the few times i've come across them, you can tell in that person's demeanor and tone. I noticed that same pattern in that last cop. I guarantee you that his line of "how is that going to make me look" was just a way of taking some of the weight and responsibility off his shoulders. The overall way he dealt with that police chife told that he busted him because he needed to be busted and that he had; not just a legal and professional but moral duty to stop that man before he killed someone. I wish i could buy him a coffee or something to show appreciation for people who do the right thing just because they believe in it.

At 7:58 she tells her foster child to "just be quiet" Wow and don't little kids like this have to be in the back seat in a booster seat? That's how it is in NY and NJ.

Not taking the mayor to jail with her child in the car, and this was her third offense! How is she still able to stay in her position? Bias and her title has nothing to do with it. Corruption on another level. And everyone of those officers that let her go and endangered the public and a child, should go out the door with her! Maybe the woman could pay their bills! Disgusting!

I think those state cops knew that they would get some bribery from her after she got home like the first two times of DUI.

They really let the mayor drive away with a kid in the car. Completely disregarded the safety of that child.

They can't let their bosses off the hook anymore. They did that back around the 80's and when one or couple actually killed someone, the officer that let them go got into legal trouble... so they don't cut breaks when it comes to DUI.

Interesting how they let the mayor go. Any “normal” person would have been arrested on the spot ands charged with DUI. And o by the way she had her kid with her too. Lousy ass cops.

In that second case with scott, things get real messed up. Turned out the first officer was romantically involved with Scott (if you watch the whole body cam, they kiss before she cuffs him) and the supervisor actually clearly wanted to cover up the intoxication part, but the victim of the accident stayed behind to watch the officers as she knew Scott was a cop. Superviser gets visibly flustered and upset that they stayed. If I recall, both supervisor and arresting officer got canned because of what they did. Scott ended up being the most professional one at the stop. Insisting they do everything by the book in spite of how upset he was.

Not only that but the way she spoke to the victim about invading her space etc. I am glad they stayed behind to see it. Corruption even on the basic level. The intoxicated cop actually begged them to put cuffs on him because they had witnesses. Imagine that!

Props to Scott for owning his mistake, he was drunk driving he owned his mistake didn't act like a baby, didn't enforce his power on anyone, and most of all respected the female officers by trying to make her as comfortable as he could (in his drunken state). He did wrong, but he at least owned up to it with no excuse, because there is no excuse for DUI.

Watch the full unedited version where Scott and Brooke make out with each other right in front of the supervisor, Brooke making excuses for Scott during the sobriety tests, all cops trying to intimidate the victims to leave so they can cover up the crime, and Scott asking to be cuffed bc the victim was watching and only bc the victim was watching. Besides he’s a cop that was driving so drunk he caused an accident-how is that respectable in any way at all? He knows the dangers and he could’ve killed someone bc he’s too stupid to call a cab. Back the blue until it happens to you.

Telling the victim to get away from him cause she doesn't like smoke but in the whole video "Mr. PROBABLY A GOOD RESPECTABLE COP WHO OWNED HIS MISTAKES" was smoking initially, and she had him put it out but in a MUCH NICER WAY TO HER WHITE SUPERIOR LOVER!! Mayor should have gotten taken in. The sobriety field service test doesn't tell you anything except a way for cops to take them for the "chemical" test. Should have been arrested.

Absolutely. They let the drunken mayor drive home with her kid? And if she veered into on coming traffic and the boy died, its on the cop who said she was ok to drive. An innocent victim to a corrupt town. Disgusting!

I'm just happy to see that not all cops don't treat other police officers are government officials any differently. I commend them for doing their job and not being intimidated. This makes me put a little faith in our system.

OK here's what's wrong in this video: story #1 A police officer (city) pulled over a deputy (county) so that's not his boss & they don't work for the same department. In the Mayor story, you are wrong, she admitted to drinking & they could smell the alcohol on her breath, & that is probable cause all day long! Finally in story #4, that is a Captain in the Investigations Division & that's why the Patrol Officer has no clue who he is because they work in 2 different divisions, so NO that's not his boss at all!

I had a buddy who was a MP in the Army. He once pulled over a car driving reckless and speeding and when he got to the driver window he realized it was his General. The General was drunk, and he put the handcuffs on his general. If it wasnt for the witnesses near there, the general could of destroyed his career.

Both officers involved in the first video handled that very professionally. It could have been awful for either of them but they both sucked it up and did what was right. 👍

Fun fact .08 although is the legal limit doesn’t prevent you from being arrested for dui if your intoxicated

More fun fact: it's not "legal" to drive with any amount of alcphol in your system. .08 is just the threshold that defines legal intoxication.

This is “incredibly rare” because we tolerate internal investigations!! Abolish qualified immunity!!!

You should pay attention to what your government is doing, because none of it is for you, and the best part is they steal half your fucking income to send overseas, so they can get 10% back for the big guy! I love how every drunk driver has the same response to how many drinks they've had, "3 or 4, I think." Even if they aren't lying about that, I wouldn't trust someone to drive who doesn't even remember exactly how many drinks they've had

Even the ones getting arrested got off a lot easier than “regular” citizens. The guy doing 96 in a 35 should of gone directly to jail. The mayor on her apparently 3rd drunk driving charge should have to do mandatory jail and permanently lose her license as she even had a minor in the car.
