Honestly the fact that he demanded the identity of the Holo speaker doesn't seem to warrant some choking. Anyone in a position of authority is going to ask for some form of identity or clearance before complying with an order.

To be honest Vader probably would not execute this officer if what I understand of this is correct, the officer "received orders" without any identification as to who was issuing them. If anything, blindly following an order without any sort of confirmation as to who was issuing them would be much more of a grounds to be executed than simply exercising some basic diligence. Otherwise what would be stopping the Rebels from just "ordering" random Imperial bases to do whatever if nobody would ever question its validity out the remote fear that it *might* be Vader?

Yeah. Yeah, the Death Star is a joke. What most people don't get about something like that is the fact that it's such an enormous and dangerous weapon that it becomes a must-destroy target. It was doomed by virtue of its very existence. A rifle that can shoot an insane distance, however? That's gonna proliferate.

In all actuality the officer was correct in his actions. Without either a prearranged code, or direct confirmation any military officer by military law can not follow supposed orders that could be coming from the enemy. He may have been a bit full of himself at the time, but there was no arrogance involved. He simply advised whoever was calling to identify themselves before acquiescing to those new orders. And Vader did just that before his message was cut-off and Minister Patina Vor showed up to hi-jack the arrest in progress.

Bruh, without identification it could have been a rebel for all the officer knew. How is he cocky?

to be honest, i think a sniper rifle with 100km range is better bcs 1. both death stars are star thrash now and 2. a light saber is good only in cqc(close quarter combat) if you are NOT a force user. if you are a force user still the sniper rifle is better bcs if you are strong enough you can mask your self for the other force users

This Sniper rifle would be useless in a handheld configuration. -any minor movement of the muzzle would result in missing the target by miles -how and when would you use it? You can't shoot on a planet if the projectile goes in a straight line, due to curvature of the planet, resulting in a best possible range of a few miles (which still makes it useful, but not crazy overpowered) -and you can't snipe somebody from another planet by hand, due to rotation and movement of the planets -I wont even speak about how to acquire the target (especially by hand) The only possible way to use it is from a spaceship towards a planet, perhaps from an opened hanger (which would be badass). Hitting your shot requires a strong ballistic processor, and then with all that effort you can hit a person from space without stepping on the planet, which is nice, but just not soooooo useful as you might think. well this is the role of a sniper rifle. hit targets from long distance. put this as a ship weapon and will do his job better than any sniper rifle and if can be caried and used with the hands is still a verry big comodity

@@Obsidian_Gargantuan_Leviathan its shown to be mainly, maybe only an infantry weapon. I don't doubt that a super precise cannon on a star ship would be effective, but this rifle as shown wouldn't be much more efficient than an ordinary star wars sniper.

I thought "What, a fancy sniper rifle? Had no one made one before?" Then he said 100km... meaning if I used it I could kill a bird in canada from my house in the states. the longest recorded real life sniper kill was 3.54 km, or roughly 2 miles. I mean... if you think about it... wow.

100km range? Whats the point if it shoots in straight lines. The horizon is 5 km, so unless your in space i cant see a use for it.
