    So many people from all over the Pacific NW come over to experience the land of the giants. The many things I love about living here. Pyramid Lake over any SoCal lake honestly 🤷🏽‍♂️ Also you should definitely try fly fishing at pyramid! It’s a whole different feeling and I prefer it just it does get difficult for some.

    Rob the coband tip is going to be revolutionary to my trips to Pyramid. My hand always freezes even in my glacier gloves or my seal skinz. I appreciate that tip sooo much! Maybe I will add a little loop to stuff a hand warmer in there.

    Haha yeah that coban really helps. I also started using these heated glove liners that work pretty well. They ate not water proof so I put the nitrile/latex gloves over them and you have alot more dexterity than the big snow gloves. I just leave them on medium and my hands are still cold but but not frozen or painful and im comfortable. The batteries will last on medium until the sun comes up and then usually im good but I do suggest getting some extra batteries just in case. Such an adventure fishing Lake Pyramid. What a cool video! Props to you guys for fishing in weather like this. How do you guys know where to fish on this lake? A buddy told me the lake is huge because he fished it with his boat. The lake can turn into an ocean when the wind starts up. It can get to be really dangerous. A video showing what gear you guys fish in or prepare for at Lake Pyramid would be awesome! Lets face it! Southern California anglers don't know what cold is! Lake Pyramid is on my destination list of places to fish. Thanks for all the work you do! The details helps everyone! Much of my freshwater rods are the E6X series. Great rods!

    Honestly you need to go find the fish. There are no “secret spots” as the fish follow the food around. You may slay em in one spot only to return the next day and nothing. All the major spots are marked with signs and easy to find. Also look for crowds of people in certain areas. If theres a bunch of anglers the fish are probably in that area. Im actually working on a video for first timers going to Pyramid. It coming soon 🤘

    Another great video. You have some of the best KZread videos as you explain things in detail. Thanks for that. I have been wondering if I should direct tie or use a clip up there on the tubes. I love using a clip when I can. You answered that! You mentioned using spoons at Pyramid. RHA spoons? What size and color spoons you like there? Never seen a good Pyramid casting spoons video and I have searched for them! Maybe do a Pyramid Spoons video in the future? 🤞

    We always bring them just in case but most of the time we dont use them. There are alot of spots up there where the dropoff is very close to shore. we have them for those rare occasions when the fish end up biting in areas where they are helpful. If you went up there without a ladder you can still get on those fish

    10lb Daiwa JBraid with a 10lb fluoro leader Is what most of us use. I have a rod spooled with 8lb and one with 6lb but the 10+ size fish are getting more and more common so anything less than 10lb your really gambling as its now not crazy to hook into a 20+ size fish. I think the biggest this season so far is 23lbs but the fish aren’t super active yet. I believe last season the biggest was 33-35lbs and there were a few others caught in the 30lb range all released but one died.

    Wow, another great trip and video. What type of waders do you recommend using

  • @SeaSpankerOutdoors

    @SeaSpankerOutdoors

    5 ай бұрын

    It really depends on what you want out of a pair of waders and how often your going to use them. I use Simms G3 waders with Korker River Ops boots. Outstanding gear but very expensive, I think around $900 for both. I have used 8fans and TIDEWE waders out there as well and those run $100-$150. Both of those preformed just fine out there. Since I fish so much I opted to get the really nice Simms stuff and they are awesome but my other cheaper waders definitely get the job done. Biggest thing you want is breathability otherwise in the your body heat will cause condensation and you get swampy legs if that makes sense
