A Day as a Fly Fishing Guide at Pyramid Lake

Спорт

Welcome back peeps! As stated in the video, I've wanted to make a video showing what a day of guiding out at Pyramid Lake is like! Luckily, the fishing was good, and we found some big fish, and had a great time!

As someone who fished Pyramid for more than 40 years I’d like to offer a few tips. 1. You are on Native American land. Respect it. Tribal Sheriff does not have a sense of humor and will seize all of your equipment. All of it. You can get it back, what’s left of it, at the end of the season. 2. The wind comes up around 4 PM. If you are on a boat get off the lake. My uncle warned a guy going out late. They never found his boat or the bodies. 3. The slot is 19” to 24” for keepers. In my opinion they are the best to eat. Big guys aren’t as tasty. Good for mounting. 4. Enough people leaving trash has closed the north end of the lake which is sad. It’s really cool up there. They filmed “ Abbot & Costello Go to The Moon” up there. And there is a huge geyser we used to warm ourselves up there too. 3. The colder the weather, the better the fishing so be prepared for the cold & wind. Bring something hot to eat & drink. 4. There is a small museum up in Sutcliff. Worth the visit in my opinion.
