The Fly Dudes

The Fly Dudes

The Fly Dudes is a channel dedicated to fly fishing. My latest goal is to fish with somebody new every week, have a week of dedicated Instagram content leading up to a weekly, vlog format, fishing video.

Andrew Engel moved from California in search of some of the biggest fish found in Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and Montana. He moved to Logan Utah in order to make this dream a reality!

Subscribe for great fishing content!

    That’s cool, I’m going speckled trout/brook trout fishing in a couple days, and want to bobber fish when I smoke my pipe, and prefer artificials to live worms, boring. So I’ll try flies under a slip float, same idea. I googled to see if others did it, cheers.

  • @TheFlyDudes
    @TheFlyDudes7 ай бұрын

    Honestly I don’t do much single hand casting with the dxf. The rod in this video is the LRS, which is a great all around rod for the price! I have a 5wt sky switch rod that’s awesome and I love, as well as a 7wt dxf switch as well. Love them both but to be honest there’s very little benefit to overhand casting them with what I’m doing! I know the guys surf fishing the coast love them for it but I don’t do much of that so I don’t have an opinion on it!

    Stomach pumps are stupid and terrible for fish especially if not used correctly. If you are catching fish and getting bites with the flies you're using,what the hell you need to check for? If you're that damn curious keep a fish for dinner and study its innards instead of pumping fish and throwing em back. Otherwise great video but plz stop using those stupid pumps

    Reddington sucks very much. Had nothing but bad experiences with their customer service related to broken rods. I've been fly fishing for nearly 20 years and haven't seen rods consistently break in the butt section from doing things that shouldn't cause a rod to break in the butt section. The first time it took them 4 months to send a replacement then it broke in the same spot a month later, so, obviously a design flaw. Then a replacement for that rod took 10 months. They took only two weeks to call me back the second time but it was to tell me since the rod series was discontinued they would give me a replacement from the new line ... except they were completely out of stock and wouldn't have stock for around a month ... I promptly got on the phone and purchased two RB Meiser rods that were custom built for me and shipped to my door in less than 3 weeks. Meanwhile reddington didn't get back to me for 9 more months ... I had actually just forgotten all about reddington ... they they said "your new rod is in the mail". When it arrived I put it up on eBay and never looked back. Still fishing the Meiser rods with no problems 6 years later.
