    can this ways of fishing (also the dobble dropshot) work on wild trout in certain water areas....in rivers?thanks

    Absolutely if the conditions are right. I only use a single dropshot at Pyramid though. The cutty’s are famous for rolling around during the fight. Dont want the fish getting all tangled in a doubled dropshot

    Hey Rob, I’m heading up to Pyramid this week. Do you think I could use the 30# braid that’s currently on my reel or do I need to downsize to the 8#?

  • @SeaSpankerOutdoors

    @SeaSpankerOutdoors

    4 ай бұрын

    You certainly can but if it was me I would downsize especially if your gonna be fishing from shore casting. The smaller diameter line will definitely help with casting distance. Unless you’re gonna be fishing from a boat or yak then it wont make much of a difference

    No worries at all. Didnt bring ladders on this trip but we will have them in January. The fish should be moving down to the shallow beaches as it gets colder. Personally i dont care much fir the ladders but if the wind and waves are up they can really help in certain spots. They aren’t something you must have out there especially Fishin spinning gear but it can help in certain situations if that makes sense.

    The lake is on Indian land so the Paiute tribe makes and enforces all regulations. You can only fish artificial lures, barbless hooks, and no scent.

    Do you wrap the reel and rod for comfort?

  • @SeaSpankerOutdoors

    @SeaSpankerOutdoors

    I do it for the cold. That plastic grip and metal reel get extra cold up there. It realy helps with that. Its called Coban wrap. Used mainly in the medical field. Very low amount of adhesive but it sticks to itself well and doesn’t leave residue when you remove it.

    Im not sure what you mean. All rods start off as a blank then the guides, handle, and wrap are added so you can fish with it. If your asking if any of my pyramid rods are custom the answer is no. They are all production rods i bought from a store
