Retired middle school teacher here. Had a very happy & rewarding career. Had 9 years in govt. jobs before entering classroom. Best switch I ever made. Sure you'll find out some kids can be a royal pain in the arse. Can affect entire tone of classroom. Meeting mom... and dad (a rarity)... usually explains a lot. Start out no nonsense. Can always ease up, but if seen as push over at beginning, you'll never get 'em back. Admin. support makes all difference in success or failure of your career. Crummy, boot licking & incompetent leaders are around... found that out w/each job I had. Got a weak admin.? Transfer pronto if no relief in sight. Got a supportive and effective admin.? Get on your knees, thank the Lord, then enjoy the ride. Lastly, remember coworkers are not family. Keep relationships very amicable and professional. There's always a troublemaker in the midst. Repeat nothing... even to your in house bestie... that can ever be twisted & construed to give fuel to the drama queen. Again, from the voice of experience. That's my 2-cents worth. PLEASE, heed what I'm saying. In all hope you'll be like me in retirement and can say when pondering the past that you were in your element while in the classroom and that you had a career that you loved. WHEW!

@@kyriljordanov2086 I'd say you had an admin. composed of one or all the following: 1) Wanted out of the classroom, thus followed the admin. route 2) Had desire for authority 3) No desire to make waves with Central Office, so caved in to parent(s) demands 4) Admin. was in with faculty clique, making sure they had the motivated & preppy kids 5) You were the new kid on the block and stuck with the troublemakers, the lazy kids, and the ones born to crazy or doped up parents. Again, admin. can make or break the desire to remain in teaching.

Well, normal people wouldn't know these things, but when you watch random recommended vids at 3am you get these facts through sleep absorption 😂

Fun Fact: The President of the United States must pay for their own food and expenses, right down to the last tomato as all food items are individually counted and billed. When dignitaries etc attend banquets the Governments purse pays. Nancy Reagan near had a fit when she received her first invoice after moving into the White House.

There's a whole lot more ghost stories about the White House than from the Bush twins. My favorites are the ones about Lincoln, of which there are many. Of those, my two favorites are Churchill's and Lyndon Johnson's encounters. Most of the rest involve people running away and screaming, but these two actually engaged the president. In Churchill's case (visiting America) after a nice bath while smoking a cigar, he stepped into his bedroom naked, only to see the ghost of Lincoln standing there. He calmly took the cigar out of his mouth and said, "Good evening Mr. President. You seem to have me at a disadvantage." At that the ghost laughed gently and faded away. Lyndon Johnson was up late worrying about how to deal with the Vietnam War, when he saw Abraham Lincoln enter the room. Too exhausted to be frightened, he asked the ghost, "How would you recommend that I deal with an unpopular war?" Lincoln smiled and said, "Don't go to the theater." And then vanished.

haha there is a dentist in the basement, but there's also the entire White House medical center. I've had to send people in there to do tech support! The background checks are extreme!

Very pretty building. I’ve been in it so many times since my dad worked there. I even tried to run off and play with the Bush twin girls when I was little. I also got stuck under a Xmas tree during the Xmas party when I was 2 🤦🏻‍♀️. But I think my favorite memory was getting to pet and play with Clinton’s cat Sox. He was a very sweet and laid back cat.

@@ihhuwaa-8870 NO! Obama didn’t own the golf courses he went to and spend 50% of his time there overcharging the government for all the Agents and other staff and family and friends and oligarchs and dictators etc etc who could have made use of existing state facilities...

Dems are held to a higher standard but they just lie. And libs are okay with it. At least republicans will tell you no and dems are elusive and lying virtue signalers. Biggest perk of the White House for me: Having a gourmet chef on staff to cook or fix me my heart's desire for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Suggestion: What's it like living in the Vice President's residence? Does the V.P. have it as good as the POTUS?

Except that you’ll have to pay for all the food still! Michelle Obama talked about that in her book. She was quite surprised by the costs of living in the White House

You want it you pay for it. Not on our taxpayer dollars. They have to foot the bill for all those fancy dinners. A big state dinner with a foreign leader im not sure about that part

@@justina249 they only pay for their private meals. Everything official is paid for by the tax payer, like office or kitchen staff and fancy state dinners. They also have to pay for private birthday parties including serving staff and food.
