Hey Dana Yes I know this dish well, as a kiwi from one of the lands down under, New Zealand 🇳🇿😊💐
I make it all the time (Canadian) but love making it in the summer when we have so much fresh fruit available. When I can find lemon curd I add a layer on top of the meringue. It's really good.
I’m Australian so I know exactly what it is. It is a dessert I often make.
The desert Pavlova originated in the 20th century in Australia; chef Herbert Berth Saxy created the Pavlova at the Wirtz Esplanade Hotel in 1935 and the house manager remarked it was as light as the ballerina Pavlova that is how the name originated. The first recorded Pavlova recipe appeared in New Zealand in 1927 this was in a book called Davis dainty dishes published by the Davis gelatin Company and it was a multicolour jelly dish.

Me too Rhonda,! That's when I first heard of it. Sadly it was a little game of who their fur baby was named after who now since has passed 😔. But I'd love to see how the dessert is made ☺️
I certainly know what a pavlova is, I am Australian
Surely everyone knows what Pavlova is!!
There is a terrible century long quarrel between Australia and New Zealand, each of us claiming the invention of the Pavlova. The only point we can all agree on is that it was named in honour of the Russian ballerina. Everything else is open to passionate dispute! Even the recipe arouses enraged arguments. The variations are minor but every cook is devoted to his/her own version!

Yes as I’ve heard! Well now it’ll be a french matter as Liam Will be revisiting it 😅
From Melbourne Australia, so I know.
😍I’m sure its delicious!😋
Why so many not realize it’s baked meringue? Oh people fight where recipes come from all the time, there’s two restaurants here fight for decades now there’s only one, they both almost went under.
