Wow first time I have seen inside the yurt since you furnished it. It looks quite luxurious, and haven’t I seen that bedhead in the attic at Lalande ? So glad that after your horrendous hard work you can go home and be comfortable.

Very nice Dana. You are such a sweet person. I am sure Dan and Cat loved the food as can tell by their expressions! Dan is now so busy getting his Chateau ready, that he really does not have much time for anything else. It has been hard for him. His life is going to start anew. He is ready for the new beginning, and this sort of food, is warming his heart and stomach! Cat being a good friend too, is helping and am sure she was so hungry and something like this is much better for them then anything they would need to buy quickly, some place, or even just cook fast in order to be done in order to move along and work.. So very nice. (It is lovely to see the snow, but the roads can be a little hard at times to drive on. )

Hi Dana. So sweet of you to cook for Dan and Cat! The food looked delicious! I was married to an Italian for 53 years and his wonferful family taught me to cook and I became a pretty good cook. My Mom had 7 of ud so she didn't have time to teach us to cook...she said we got in her way. The only thing we could make was chocolate chip cookies! I want to try the goat cheese pie, looks like my kind of thing. Love goat cheese. BTW...tell us your story; how did a nice jewish girl end up in France? I have a good friend who lives in Kiryat Gat, Israel. I always wsnted to visit there but now i feel I'm too old (82)! I love when you made falafels. He use to make them for me when he was in the US. You can stop looking for falafel and roll the videos in my channel you have two episodes , one is called simply how to make falafel and the second one is Meze at the chateau de La Lande . It’s very easy I’m sure you’ll handle it. I’m Israeli and I travels like many do after the military service . Came to France cause I wanted to learn the language in Paris that I love so much. Got married and the rest is history 😊

As busy as Dan is, wouldn't a Cornish Pasty type pastry be suitable? Lots of good stuff baked into a dough, and with a wide, folded edge to hold onto. (Miners used them because they could hold them by the seam and eat, then just discard the edge, and never have to worry about their dirty hands)

Thank you for watching 🥰Not really, the ones you’re talking about are more like bourekas or bourek , it has a pastry . The pastel has no pastry. The galette is french and it is very old indeed but it’s not individual parts like the Cornish. By the way I love bourekas and in Israel it’s a street food very popular 🥰

I kept wondering if you had a more Middle Eastern background and finally, I caught an episode where you mention your birthplace - Morrocco. It's the one predominately Muslim place I am dying to visit, b/c I've heard such positive comments about the people, the food and the easy-going atmosphere. Plus, they cook conscientiously, w/ clean hands. I love that.

No I was born in Israel my parents were born in Morocco . I cook worldwide cuisine I have influences from Israel North Africa but also eastern of Europe Asia and French . Ive been to Morocco for the first time in 2013 I participated in a 4x4 rally . After I went back with may family , it is indeed for me the only country I’d go to ( besides Égypte ) not at the moment tho. I recommend in better times 🤗

@@reladie it’s ok. In Morocco there’s a big problem effectively, you should never eat anything without washing it beforehand and tap water is drinkable. First time I’ve been there I got so sick and it lasted for more than a month !

Yes of course , it’s a dry cheese . I already made it with feta it’s amazing. Actually you can add what you want just be card not to have to many wet ingredients compared to the dry ones
