Among anime watchers the 1st opening hold significant importance. So much so the song does come up again several hundred episodes later during a particular scene and it did make me cry a bit. The nostalgia and literal meaning of having that song at that time really brought it all together

My favorite character is torn between Sanji, Buggy, Jinbei, and Bon Clay. This series has way too many characters to choose. It's kind of hard to get into why for most of them without spoilers, but most of these are really loyal to the people they befriend and respect. Also Buggy is there for reasons.

Yeah, Fun Fact: after Ending 18 they just stopped making Endings for some reason and only started again with making Endings recently with the latest Arc, which is at it’s Finale right now.

There's a 1 second from every 1000 episode of One Piece (official video) for 1000 episode anniversary/special.

One piece first aired in my country in 2002, been fans since then and everytime i heard that first ending "memories", it always give me nostlagia and made me wanna rewatch it all over again

Favourite character from the crew: Robin, I love her humour, her powers, her knowledge and the way she talks.

One thing I usually mention regarding Oda's design for the progression, it being unique islands on the way that they have to stop on, makes it extremely easy to shoehorn in filler: "Oh, they had to stop on this island, where some bullsh*t happens, just for a little adventure"

Well they made the openigs longer when they give up the endings but recently they made a new one and the op got normal again,kinda going to miss that in the anime

Oda said about 3 years, so knowing him I'd say 5-6, depending on the pace and his schedule for other things like the Live Action. I think we'll reach like chapter 1300ish

Oda did experience burnout. There was this one time he was hospitalised for exhaustion after not sleeping for several days straight and working on one piece. When he came to in the hospital the first thing he did was ask the nurse for a pencil and paper

man i never realized that there was no ending for the longest time after the 18th ending. i just paused every time i saw the to be continued. But damn it was over 700 episodes between ending 18 and 19

I can't believe my brain put aside the early endings and did not remember them for such a very long time, and thank you for flooding my brain with memories... coincidentally it wasn't the first ending "Memories" that did the trick, even though it's a good ending. It was the next one "Run! Run! Run!"... funny how brain works sometimes :D Maybe because the second ending was for more emotionally impactful second half of East Blue saga so it hits harder and a lot more attached to it in my head all those many many years ago when I was watching it for the first time... Came here for One Piece, stayed for your joyful chaos energy (and more One Piece xd) Once I catch up on your live streams watchalongs to LA and first episodes of the anime - you will get another subscriber out of me. Apologies, but you can't expect everyone to just subscribe all willy-nilly, likes and subscribers nowadays are precious food for the algorithm xd Maybe 5 years ago I'd have just subscribed first then caught up with your vids, but people grow and I'd like to think I didn't regress at least :)

You won't meet him for a while, but my favorite character is Brook. He is super funny and likable, but can hit a switch where he is super strong too.

Nami does start out as a thief, but becomes more of a wizard over time, although in D&D she may count as mostly a druid because she mainly manipulates the weather and druids are better at that than wizards. So imagine maybe the first 5 levels as a thief rogue and the next 15 are druid of the land(?), with plenty of illusions.

@@danielhuelsman76 yeah, but like Luffy she loses a lot of creativity after Enies Lobby SPOILER BUT IT'S BEEN DECADES AT THIS POINT However Luffy developed at least many new techniques: he's not using the surroundings anymore like he did in the beginning or finding clever ways to stretch, but G2, G3 and G4s are something new (G5 is a different thing, not sure how to count it). Nami... Have we seen her doing all the weather-stuff, illusions, mist and fog and similar things after the fight with Khalifa? Because I can only recall her running away or using lightnings, while especially post-time skip she could have done wonders. She's not and was never a heavy hitter, but damn, she looks weaker (and dumber) but with a stronger weapon now, if you read again the first arcs :(

@@mattia_carciola I think it's weirder that "cat burglar" Nami hasn't stolen anything recently even though she's been doing it for 10 years. SPOILER TALK She could use her mirage tempo to steal easier, but she doesn't. Would Zeus count as something stolen? Zeus in the stick could potentially make stealing easier, like stretching out and around then grab an object with his teeth, but then again she just got that upgrade and I haven't seen Egghead yet.

The live action is indeed faster pace but not the canon. It wasn't one to one copy after all. It bring different emotion on first impression.

The first ending "Memories" is such a nostalgic song, one time i teared up cos it randomly played and i wasnt ready for it 🤣, also checkout "The Breathtaking World of One Piece" by Strawhat V, it shows you how vast the worldbuilding in One Piece could be.

I stumbled into this (and the opening) vid via the youtube suggested and watched them because, as someone reading chapter by chapter and following the various theories, it's always funny seeing reactions from people who still know nothing about it lol Just wanted to wish you a good journey and give an advice: if you cried for the live action's Usopp's backstory... Stay well hydrated even for the East Blue saga during the anime, because you'll definitely need it ;) AND AVOID MEMES AT ALL COST! YOU'LL SPOIL YOURSELF A LOT OF IMPORTANT THINGS AND RUIN MANY EMOTIONAL MOMENTS!!! (also I've heard pretty bad things about the English adaptation, so try to watch it subbed)

LaliHo! Honestly, I'd enjoy hanging out with the entire crew, but probably Luffy, Usopp, and Robin the most. The first two are just fun to be around, and would always keep me laughing, while Robin is someone you just want to relax around and talk with. She would have the most interesting stories to tell

In terms of skills Usopp is like somewhere between a Bard and an Artificer, he talented at most things.

The live action is a great intro to the series if you haven't watched or read~ its faithful in the overall spirit and character personalities however it takes liberties (it's live action it has too XD)

Honestly I don’t have a particular favorite that I can just immediately say “hey that’s the one I like the most!” There are characters that I hate, but even then I have reasons I hate them it’s not just “I hate him cause he exists” it’s more like “I hate him cause he did this” One piece has so many many memorable characters that half the time I can’t remember their names. Of the straw hat crew you haven’t really met him yet but my least favorite is franky. Now if you asked me what’s my favorite powers among all the devil fruits? Dear god that’s only slightly easier then answering who my favorite character is.

@@Dipperdog_RPGirl paramecia- Robin’s fruit or the float float fruit, the guy who owns it is canon but the movie in which the crew fights him is not. It basically just lets you fly or you can touch non-living objects and make them float/move around like telekinesis. Zoan- the horned “dragon priestess” girl you’ve seen in the openings and ending, or the Phoenix fruit. Logia- the ice admiral’s or a plant logia we were only recently introduced to in the manga (so recent the anime isn’t to him just yet and their dangerously close to the current manga!) The list could be so much longer but those 6 stick out to me the most as something I’d like to have

The live action isn't just faster paced, it takes alot of creative liberties, like practically skipping over some story arcs alkost entirely and omitting certain characters completely. Another major change is Garp. He was nowhere near as prominent as he is in the live action, and a lot of what what we've already seen of him in the live action came MUCH later. But overall, the live action maintains the spirit of the original show/manga and hasn't made any changes that disrupt major characters, so it's still good despite the creative liberties taken.

Greatest story ever told definitely has a few spoilers, the ace one which has already been show through the openings and... spoilers: Rayleigh and shanks being crew mates of roger, whitebeard's death, roger being a D. and the original owner of the straw hat, gear 2 (some of these are more lowkey and it's ok for a person new to one piece to react if they don't mind a few spoilers but I think the AMV hits the hardest for those who are up to date on the series)

The only bad thing that can be said about the live action is that it's much shorter and a bunch of good scenes and characters were cut out

Live action is good but it is still so different than anime. They are not comparable at all. Anime is just a completely different feeling.

Robin is my favourite character, I relate to her insecure and nerdy personality also her dark humour and love of spooky cute things, but at times she's also the bad bitch I want to be xD.

Nami has been my fave since pretty much day 1. I also adore Luffy… at first I wasn’t too big on him, but he is my clear 2nd. ❤️❤️

The first opening hit so damn hard. They use it later in the anime and it's a heart grab. I hope if they play a ending song at the end this is it. As an older OP fan who has been following nearly 20 years there are many memories packed into it. I was a DBZ fan as a teen, but it doesn't have the depth, world or characters Oda has written. DB/DBZ are the gateway for many to anime/manga. That said not watching OPLA. Not a fan of some of the choices. And Oda approved doesn't mean everyone much like it. I'll also add the cut anime/manga characters and story out to fit into a live show. So yeah..I'll be sticking as a manga reader with the anime. You can do more with anime than live action imo.

Nico Robin is my favorite, best friend would still be luffy. He wont ditch you unless is a food related but fedd you when plenty.

once piece is definitely not lasting 10-20 years. Oda predicted its going end around 1200-1300, not sure if its chapters or eps. but either way, probably another 5-8 years for the anime, and 3-5 years for the manga

The live action actually takes a lot of liberties in some ways but very few of them are problematic or jarring for most fans, though everyone has a different opinion. I feel like it gets a lot of things right but also very few crucial things wrong.

a review of the live action will be fun (and yeah recmmend checking out the anime or manga, as thre are tons of differences between them and the live action already c:) My fave charcter is Usopp, follwoed by luffy and nico robin. Usopp is a lot cooler than he seems at first, and also very funny. Luffy is jsut refreshing and blunt and also silly. And robin...she's hot (also other reeasons I won't spoil)
