WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DO PILATES EVERYDAY | How Pilates changed my body
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Over the last few months I have completely switched up my workout routine and I have never felt better. Last year I gained weight, my hormones were out of balance and my skin was breaking out. At the same time I was over-exercising, trying to "burn off" the weight with intense exercise and feeling exhausted. I went on a deep dive to understand what was happening with my body, why my hormones were so out of balance and why I was constantly feeling lethargic. A bit part of the problem was that with my exercise routine I was constantly trying to fight against it - when I felt tired and bloated on my period i thought I had to exercise harder to "get back on track". Nothing could be further from the truth. This vlog is about how I started listening to my body and switching my routine to just Pilates workouts was a big part of that! I want to stress that I definitely take regular rest days - I didn't work out every single day and I definitely don't recommend that to anyone. The main lesson I learned was about listening to, and understanding, what my body needed and what was right for me. I hope sharing my journey is helpful to you guys xx

Pilates has been the first and only type of workout that made me feel so in tune with my body and actually slow down to think about doing the postures right and keeping my core engaged. All the other more fast paced workouts left me feeling hurried and only focusing on the pace and sweating lol. Having anxiety disorders and adhd, I feel the short but sweet pilates toning workouts combined with dancing and yoga is the best option for my mind and body, thankyou Bailley 💗

I wish there was a stronger body of scientific literature about cycle syncing and the way our cycles influence the way we move and eat. There is so much promising annecdotal evidence, but the actual research is ridiculously lacking - especially when we start considering the impact of birth control. 50% of the population is dealing with this, and we deserve access to that information so we can make informed decisions about our bodies the same way men can. So frustrating!

I’ve been doing your workouts since 2020 but these last few months I be had to skip the HIITS because I’m pregnant. And with it being so hot outside, I’ve been strictly doing your Pilates classes and I’m loving how strong I feel. I love your new align app and the low impact cardio classes are definitely doable for me.
Thank you for everything you create and put out in this world, you are amazing Bailey! I have been doing your workouts since almost 2 years and it has helped me connect to my body, listen to what my body needs in workouts and it is the first time I have been consistent and really enjoy working out - keep up the great work!
So glad you’re sharing this. And congrats on your personal journey “home”. I can 💯 testify from personal experiences that everything you say here has worked over and over for me. Over the years I’ve been out of alignment (pun intended) with my body hormones and stress levels. Pilates instructor myself. It’s so sad that every single personal trainer I’ve talked with about this don’t understand this. It’s crazy… So yeah thanks again for sharing this so other women who go through this stars believing in their bodies and intuition instead of pushing through at the gym because that’s what’s being hyped online and in commercials. Since starting doing your videos in July my body is shifting again and mentally I feel much much better now. Thank you so much - much love from a fan and pilates sister in Denmark
I am obsessed with your channel… I have a condition in my spinal cord and never in my mind I see myself exercising again and I always love Pilates. One day I was scrolling and found you… I have being doing your work outs non stop for a year and I am so so happy with my results. I can’t do hiit trainings or some hard core cardio but in your channel I have found every thing I need for starting over. Thank you❤️ … everyday I am more strong and lean and for my condition that is something very important so thank you again. Hello from Costa Rica 😍
I'm soooo glad this info is starting to become more mainstream, especially as someone who blew out my adrenals overexercising at certain times of the month.

It makes you loose inches especially in waistline, the only other thing I add is walking with some form of cardio like walking fast with some incline. Pilates is a must it gives you true strength and great tone also makes me feel more confident than other workouts and helps with my back pain.
I appreciate how humble you are and how honest you are when speaking in this video. I can tell you truly have an appreciate for the beautiful place of Bali that you are in. Thanks for info of this video!
Great video, thank you for sharing your journey! I joined a Pilates reformer studio recently (currently in week #6) and I am in love with the workouts and the results I am already seeing/feeling!!! I started my fitness journey in late 2020 (around my 49th Bday), that is when I found your channel…..you have been influential in my body and mind changes….Thank you!!! If only I could have amazing views for my workouts 💕 GOALS!!
I rarely write comments, but want to say thank you and that I love the perspective you bring around this, for your program + youtube channel, etc
Thank you so much for sharing this!!! It's very important to know how our bodies function and how we can work in alignment with it. I am going to follow your advice and try your low impact cardio classes in the first half and the sculpting/lengthening workouts in the second half of my cycle. btw you are glowing, Bailey! I love your energy🌞☀💕 Thank you for all you do!
I hope you read this: I’ve never been fond of working out, until I found this channel. I’ve been doing your workouts for barely a month (and I won’t stop), and after this month I seriously start to have a butt, some abs and a way better posture (lordosis here). I feel stronger and my balance is 100 times better. So I thank you for making me love my body.
I absolutely love this approach and mindset, Bailey. Really resonates with my personal mental, physical and spiritual journey. Thank you :)
Thanks for talking about this. There are not many instructors that talk about this in regards to hormones. So important. I've not been taking my menstrual cycle in to account but I am now. Thank you.
Can you please do four videos or playlists, one for each week of the month? It would make it so easy to do the right workouts for each week of my cycle 🙂

Good morning 🌞, I noticed that too, the more I worked out I gained weight at certain times so I just stopped all the cardio and hit. When I started doing yoga, Pilates and one day of kickboxing my body transformed. I know I have to strength train too but Pilates helped. I did Pilates for 9 days the first time and worked muscles I never knew I had plus I felt taller. People always think I’m tall in pictures but I’m not. I was in an accident in my 20s a passenger and hurt my left knee. I did what worked for me. I wasn’t focused on a number on a scale, like most. I just wanted to be lean and healthy and have better posture. I have PCOS and fibroids and that’s another thing, I gain. But I started taking supplements, changed my diet and sleeping to control it. Thank God it’s not severe.
LOVE THIS! I just started doing Pilates workouts and I love them!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

I am so glad you are talking about these things. Just the other day I had a similar conversation with a girlfriend. We should honour our female body and cycle and not work out as if we were men, because we are not.
I have noticed the past couple of years that I get really really bloated the week before my cycle. I asked my GYN and just says that I am probably eating the wrong foods but I don’t think that’s it. I mean I look like I have gain a significant amount of weight for that week. Going to ask to get my hormones tested and start pilates.

Thank you for this video. Great you are covering another aspect to working out for women. I started to love Pilates because of you. Hey, and what a stunning view there 😍 👌 😊 ❤️ ✨️ 💕
I started working out at 11 years old and back then doing HIIT every day as all it took for me to lose weight but as i got older i found that those workouts just made me gain weight. I started doing pilates at 14 and i’m 21 now and i have to say that pilates along with dancing is all it takes for me to get in shape.
omg this is so helpful:) she is so pretty and i love that i found her❤❤❤
Same here, i also changed my workout routine from HIIT cardio to do just pilates only. I myself also struggling with hormones level as well. Pilates may not make you sweat like others workout but it does helps me to relax , relieved, focus . Whenever i did intensity workout my mind go crazy and feel exhausted. But pilates is the opposite it makes me feel stronger and fresh
Hey Bailey! I don't think you mentioned this.....how long are your daily (or 'every day when you work out' :)) pilates workouts? I love your short 10-15 minute workouts but are you doing a couple of them? Or just 15 minutes a day?
@mariac.5853
Жыл бұрын
a couple workouts per day are fine (around 25-30 mins ☺️)
I am a bit jealous of seeing you in that beautiful paradise. I am just finishing my Pilates course and I know that I will never teach in a place like you. 🤗 Kisses from London
How long are the pilates workouts every day? I've been doing a couple of your 5 to 10 minute workouts a day. I tried the hard 7-day or 30-day HIIT workouts but find them difficult to maintain because of fatigue and keeping that momentum. Doing at least a 5 minute workout is helping me stay consistent, although I too have had those thoughts "is this enough?" that you had mentioned.
Do I just do the days one at a time like, just day 1 on day 1? Or do you do more than one set a day like 2 times through or 3 times through day 1?
Hi Bailey. Thank you for this. One question: Do you aim to get 10k steps a day? TIA :)
Is okay to do strength training at the gym? Or can it raising cortisol level?
Breathtaking!!!!
So what’s considered the 5 best days for more high intensity or lifting?
Pilates has been life changing! ❤️✨

Beautiful location! More personal question, I’ve been doing some workouts from time to time; I have lower back pain and not much upper body strength. It’s hard for me to be consistent because of that so I’m not able to see much results. Thank you! 🥰🥰

Same here, found a pilates for core done mostly on your back. Helped me strengthen my core and no more lower back pain.
Not sure if this helps other women but I noticed that I can go really hard during the middle of the cycle, and need to go slow and easy before hitting the period. I notice in the last week or so before being more tired and having less energy despite enough sleep and food due to hormones. So, I just sleep more and do more low impact work outs (no weight lifting) because I guess that's what my body needs then. :-) Focus and start listening to your body, girls. You are worth it! Ps: I am not on hormonal birth control and would recommend to get off it to anyone wanting to reconnect to their body and menstrual cycle. Fun fact: the NFP (Natural family planning) method has one of the lowest Pearl Index numbers and is a great way to learn more about our bodies and cycle. Its also great if you are actually planning to become pregnant. :-)

@@felixsaccent There are great videos here on yt that explain everything about the pill and why it may be not that good for the body. But I'd also totally recommend you to read Dr. Pelz' book "Fast like a girl". Its about fasting according to the menstrual cycle. Through regular fasting we can ease symptoms and help our body heal. My friend said she lost all her baby weight from Pilates. I've bad friends lose tons of weight through a trainer and they say to take it easier. Too high of a heart rate causes stress on our body and releases cortisol and need for overconsumption of foods. If I recall right it used sugars only from blood stream. A slightly elevated heart rate in the"zone" heart rate allows our body to use the energy from our fat storage.

do pilates give you more hip and tiny wiast?
I'm wondering if all athletes and gymrats secretly have hormonal issues and rarely admit it🤔 I only read about the benefits of strength training for health and bone strength, so I did that, but I can't really tell if it's influencing my hormones as I lost my cycle before that (was underweight). Currently I'm experimenting with Barre and pilates instead, I feel amazing but I'm scared to lose the strength and muscle I built. Pilates won't build as much as heavy weights and progressive overload is harder to include sometimes 🤔
how often should i do pilates (4 times a-week, 6 times a-week, etc), and for how long (10 mins, 20 mins, etc)?

You look good bailey xx.
I started pilates because I had a knee injury. I went ice skating and fell down but felt nothing next day I went to the gym and had legs days after finishing leg extensions i felt my knee was smashed.. I stayed 1 month without any type of movement hardly walking with crutches until I started physiotherapy.. well physiotherapy exercises are very much like pilates my doctor told me do slow controlled moves take the time to rest between moves.. so I said oh well this looks a lot like pilates.. Im 28yo.. and my problem area are my arms.. and when I saw arm pilates workout I said.. pfff wth is that .. but I did it anyway.. next day when I woke up my lats and my triceps were on fire.. so Never ever doubt the power of Body Weight exercises. I currently follow move with nicole exercises because she guide u when to breath in and breath out compared to other pilates instructors.. so having thst guide u can engaged your core muscles much better! Now Im totally in love with pilates.. I think if I hadnt had that knee injury I would have continued lifting weights and doing cardio and getting demolished twice a week
