If socom comes back. They better have the servers ready for a massive number of players#1 goal. I am a huge fan 44 yrs of age, played all socoms every single day. And l can tell you ppl like me are ready a waiting. Also the stories we tell to the younger generation and others who never experienced this game is a huge influence and they also will be ready and waiting. COD, Battlefield and Ghost Recon watch out. You could have not Said it better socom fan since the 1st one. Many clan war stories me and my entire clan have been waiting for this to be revived. 1st person shooters will be gone if socom returns. UNEXPLAINED ( ? )

LOL as awesome as Socom was it definitely would not render any of those other franchises obsolete. I think some Socom faithful tend to massively blow its popularity/influence out of proportion.

SOCOM is one of my all time favorites from that era. I'd love to play those games again. Especially on current gen platforms.

Yeah only someone completely unfamiliar with the franchise and is just looking at reviews would say that. 4 was the biggest disappointment I’ve ever had in gaming.

The campaign was okay but the MP was complete dog shit. All players did was spam grenades, literally

Frostfire, Desert Glory, Crossroads, Rats Nest, Blizzard, Ruins and so many more I absolutely love those maps and they are still some of the best maps ever and one of the few games I could say I love just about every map.

The gameplay holds up too. S2 gunfights are the best of all time.

This was nice to see. Still waiting after so many years.

41 - Socom is unmatched. Nothing like it since. Joining or creating Clans, recruiting good players and climbing the team rankings is what made it a great game for me. Those maps and the way it was necessary for use to use strategy and work like a team to win head to head was fun.

I used to love Socom 2 and socom 3! I used to play for hours on the PS2. Call of Duty never quite filled the gap for me. It wasn't as good

It's sad. 6 years ago, this video would've gotten tremendously more views. Socom is just depressing to think about now for old-time fans.

To be fair it was a DISASTER at launch. It deserved the awful scores it got. That was the biggest tragedy for SOCOM. Had Confrontation launched in good shape, I think the franchise would still be around today.

I was hoping by the time i came back to america after playing this game as a kid on ps2 they would have a new and improved socom seals game, its truly my fav tactical shooter and i hope we at least get 1 more🙏🏽

You can play every single Socom today. From the PS2-PS3. Even on the RPCS3. As well as MAG and PlayStation home…good times in 2022!

Socom series literally made a whole generation of tactical players, I’ve base my style from this series.

I'm currently playing Socom games (mostly all ps2 entries), and i'm in awe - amazing campaigns!

We need this came back. This is one of my favorite games to play 👍👍

I'm a young man, 23 years old, I only played the first SOCOM of which I mostly remember that night mission on the cargoship. But I'd still be happy to see it make a return, it's still part of my squeaker childhood!

I played the first SOCOM, and knew there was a second one, but never knew there was SOCOM 3 and onward.

YES! who can forget DESERT GLORY!.... Id love this series to make a return I miss the online interaction between online players and the natural gameplay. I know there's shooting games in todays market like COD etc. However, there s something very different with socom especially 1,2 and 3 from my memory. This game taught me skill and patience as well as really trusting your teammates.

I remember unit 13 it was actually my introduction into tactical shooters

Been playing the series since I had a ps2 console I enjoyed playing and would like to see more in future

Difference being those are one and done. You die you have to back out and start a new match, in Socom if you died you just waited until the next round.

I have been wanting another SOCOM very badly!!

We currently have a temporary fill in until socom returns, enlisted is a pretty decent and constantly reminded me of socom. It unfortunately doesn't have a dedicated story mode though

The series could make a giant splash using modern consoles. New mechanics and graphics could make for an epic campaign mode. Online would need to he special to capture a large crowd. 3rd person shooters have been a dying breed.

What new mechanics? Games still play the same as they did back then same controller layouts and everything. Don't let graphic art fool you

I miss being able to adjust the squad composition to suit play/mission style.

The last socom was destroyed by the online being unavailable because psn was hacked and shutdown for months when it first launched. its time for the ps5 return.

talking about one of the best socom players in the game, plenty of 1v8 and clutches in my lifetime i was an og BEAST in my day but the fact that i have to go out of my way to play sub par game that dont even enough to fill lobbys just not worth my time or effort turning from an everyday gamer to casual player

Socom could never be beaten for what it was to us and at the time that it came out. Sad to say, no game, not even a new version of socom would ever meet the expectations that we all will be seeking. I say that because of time. We have all grown from a certain time frame with a new game that was first in its class, yet, like the first automobile, different companies competing to make the next best thing. Although it maybe very good, it will never be like the first one. Socom, first in it's class.

I used to love playing this it was better than all these other army games out here they need to put it on ps4 and ps5

I'd love to see it return strong 💪

If they remade socom 1 or 2 I would seriously consider getting a PlayStation. I spent so much time playing it along with Rainbow and battlefield.

You can play socom confrontation. All you need is a ps3 and a copy of the game. There is a discord you can join for it and there they’ll tell you what to do. I think all you have to do is change your dns settings and it’s all legit

i still play Socom 2 and Combined assault online from time to time. they still get a decent amount of players, had a really great time last night there was 40-50 players on socom2 and there was even enough players on 3/ca that i got to play a few decent games on there too. it's not really the same though, back in the day servers were packed, but i haven't ran into any cheaters atleast. wish more people would start playing again. its pretty easy to get it setup on emulator, but it's possible to do it on an actual ps2 if you have one and free mcboot. i have not owned a console since the ps3 but i would love to see them make a good remaster for socom 1, 2, and 3/CA, i bet they would pop off. i would buy a ps5 just for that honestly.

I've always been more of a SoCom player over COD I hope they bring it back it was a good game and could be even better on Next Gen.

Socom 2 was the best. The nostalgia is real.

To make a game with the name "SOCOM U.S Navy Seals" would be quite hard in today's age, the devs would have to get involved with the SEALs.

Unit 13 was great. Needed PvP. Was a great pve only socom-like game.

If it come back would beat cod & had fun playing it on the ps3 online & my 1st game on the ps3 & really enjoy it

Fail video. You didn't touch on how Confrontation with some updates and the free Cold Front patch became the best Socom game in the series by FAR. Sadly, it was missed out by tons of Socom fans due to the poor launch. Many people ignorantly think 2 was the best entry in the series still. Confrontation still goes strong even today on the PS3 via a private server in which there is always enough player on for a match.

Yup confrontation is what needs to get a remaster to be honest. They need to build on what slant six did especially now games can be updated easily, this can be Sony’s GAAS that’ll net them a lot with little investment

Bring back Socom please!

The concern for me as a huge SOCOM Fan is that they will not learn their lesson from SOCOM 4 and Combined Assault and will still take the game in a more action-oriented direction. I really do think there's a big enough market for a classic SOCOM game, but I think the hope from Sony to make the game more accessible will cause them to fumble. As much as I'd love to see a SOCOM 5, I think I'd rather never see one than having it be produced by the Slant Six crew.

Combined Assault was a great game, 4 tried to hard to adapt to a more modern market and suffered worse than an 86 year old conservative at a pride parade

Discord will keep ppl out of lobby and in game chat. That means you ppl will never experience socom like you did before. Just give it up, its over. If you want to play then join the community currently playing online. It does exist. You can play any socom multiplayer rn easily and free if you want, and most of you aren't so......

Im playing this over 7 years and i miss this and now i played socom fireteambravo 2 in my andriod phone for me this is the best game with series and i will be glad that it will came back to psp's
