Yeah he obviously wants to discourage gear use but he is completely honest about the benefits too. I think every kid should see this. Kids often dont care about negatives cause all their live theyre been told all the fun and nice things are bad for you (sweets, drugs, video games). But in honesty we should give kids more credit, show them the full picture and let them make their own judgement. If their willing to sacrifice aspects phyisical and mental just too look bigger, but it gives them true happiness and they arent causing harm (competing in sports against natural competitors, lying about being natural and selling products) then i cant really blame them.

@@seanlee566 I don't like the message that it should be acceptable and beyond reproach to use a substance that is not only bad for your health, but from a psychological point of view too, just because it makes you happy, that doesn't mean it should be illegal, but it would be like saying "drinking alcohol makes me happy, I live being tipsy or drunk, I need my daily drinks, it's how I like to be", that is not illegal in our society yet that person is still a degenerate drunk, if you need an external substance that is transitory in your life to be happy then there is something wrong with you that should be addressed, and I see it as something perfectly valid to be criticized, I can't consider that true happiness in the same sense that being a drunk, or being fat, using drugs won't give you true happiness. Yes, life is easier if you are on PEDs, you are much bigger and stronger, people will respect you more, men will respect you and won't fuck with you, women will desire you, but said true happiness is transitory and not real, it's not the person acomplishment, it's the PEDs since without them he would have never gotten to that point, it would be like if you could take a PED that makes you 2.1 meters tall(with regualr complexion rather than being a twig) and you like the fact that you are bigger, stronger and get more attention from women and respect from men, but enough of it will kill you, you can only take if from a certain period of time and it's bad for you in the psychological level, life would be better being 2.1 meters tall as a man, but it's not real and it's not true happiness.

Wow man! Not only the fact that he's so open about his use but the fact that he explains himself so clearly and precisely and using such good analogies that you can understand even if you had no clue what it's like to be on gear. That's why I love Mike Israetel. Well spoken, legit my favorite teacher when it comes to anything strength and muscle related. Dr Mike if you ever read this, you changed my life and maybe saved it (?) "FOLKS, that's all from Renaissance periodization I'll see you in the next video on periodization for general strength." 😁

7:20 I experience the same feelings after having smoked weed for 8 years, and I'm 2 years sober now still experiencing this although it's pretty rare now. I could just be watching a TV show and out of nowhere I get this feeling of dizziness and then an overwhelming feeling of anxiety, tunnel vision and increased heart rate. Never happened until I stopped my extreme heavy thc doses. Probably different in various ways than what Mike experiences but definitely speaks to how certain compounds being absorbed by the human body can do a lot of harm, specifically mentally. People talk about mental health a lot and I feel like depression is the main subject of that topic but actual panic-inducing events that are more on the physical side of the brain are terrifying and suck too.

I still do therapy and take my meds and am pretty stoic understanding my emotions and reacting appropriately to a given situation despite how I feel. But the anxiety and aggression (I'm not an aggressive guy normally, so it actually presents itself very mildly). Can you bestow any wisdom for situations like mine long term? Since I've been doing it for over a year I've been very balanced I think. But with my meds like seroquel I worry about my cholesterol sometimes. Anxiety is real. But I can predict anxiety more than my other symptoms. Lmk! Loved the episode very informative.

Ok, I feel like I'm on gear all the time: anger, insane frustration, even had a panic attack a few days ago. But I don't use steroids, barely have money for creatine. Sometimes I feel like frustration is going to kill me. One thing is very well pointed out: I feel like I don't have emotions. If I don't work out especially. It feels like something inside of myself pushing outside, leaving no place for compassion, fear, doubts. I try to feel something, but there is just nothing, just a desire for action. Probably I have just high testosterone. And I'm 30 yo.

Keep in mind what Mike said, the experience is very individual. I for one, had very few of the side effects he mentioned. In fact, every aspect of my life got better, not just physically. In a way, it's worse that way, because you can develop a love affair with the feeling of being on, which can lead to addiction. Long story short, respect what it is that you're putting in your body. Shit ain't a game.

I didn't really feel anything. I definitely got insane pumps and gained weight and never really felt Ultra sore at any point. It seemed like I could recover from whatever workouts I could do and if I had had more time I probably could have stayed in the gym for 3 hours instead of like one and a half or two like normal

Remember been a young man and taking dbol for 3 months followed by a month of tren before deciding it wasn't for me turned out to be a hyper responder to dbol gained roughly 12 to 15lb a month ending in about a stone/14 lb on average (some water weight) gain per month side effects where minimal gained some gyno followed by stretch marks and increased frustration/aggression which was controlled as I'm already a reasonably relaxed person but I do believe steroids increase certain personality traits including aggression lastly was sore tendons presumably from drematic weight and strength increase which was so bad that it was actually the main reason I decided not to carry on and go off which brings me to probably the most significant side effect I had which was my mood and mental state after coming off which was generally low energy feeling useless and pathetic perhaps slightly depressed due to drematic muscle loss and going from having heaps of energy to now next to none pluss the body image issues due to the drematic loss of muscle I'd have to say by far the coming off was physiologically the hardest part all things said and done much happier now making steady progress naturally and feeling much better with my body image although I did struggle for 5-6 years after with my body image but 100% feel I made the right decision before I got so far in with steroids that there's no going back. All I can say if anyone wants to take them think long and hard about you're mental state beforehand as any cracks in you're personality will be amplified

it use to be the same for me. Was always a very relaxed/not frustrated person. Now I have to manage frustration a lot for simple little things. The only difference with me is that I am not on gear haha. I think the change happened when I developed a chronic condition that leaves me in pain all day long. It's not bad pain like for some others with the condition but it does slowly chip away at you constantly.

That's the opposite of my experience. Besides the positives and negatives are all dose and compound specific. Taking TRT is technically being on gear, yet that is simply to put yourself in healthy ranges. Many people will probably feel better having high normal levels of T compared to low.

I think he purposefully talked more about the negatives. Also, the strength gains depend on individual response. In my 1st cycle, I was taking a flat dose of 5mg dbol per day and my bench press went up with 30 kg in 40 days.
