Barbell Brigade

Barbell Brigade

The first time we put the words "barbell" and "brigade" together, we knew we were onto something. Inspiration created momentum, and momentum turned into a culture of people that wanted more than just the norms of corporate fitness. As the Barbell Brigade Brand grew, the more we found ourselves occupying an unexplored space. We didn’t try to be anything other than ourselves. We created a lifestyle brand that filled the void and navigated the challenges of the industry to spread our stories and culture. We’re not tied down to traditional approaches or beliefs; rather, we’re defined by the rules that we’ve chosen to ignore. We are a designed system of stories and symbolisms that reflect the attitudes and beliefs of our community. Here are our stories.

Welcome to the Barbell Brigade World!

Worked out in highschool hit 300 back then at 170 bodyweight. Drove a semi for several years got myself up to nearly 300#s then hit then hit the gym to drop weight very cardio focused got down to 190 benched 300 again within 2 years of consistent working out. The gym closed and lofe took over again until 15 months ago when i started making youtube videos and seen my self in the videos and though im physically strong i hated the way i looked so ive been hitting it harder than ever b4 amd the goal is to flat be ch 2x my body weight and i stay between 180-200 depending on time of year. Not evn really sure whaty 1RM would be as i just did 275 for 15 reps. 1 rep maxes are what i used to be obsessed with but im 40years old now and an injured body cant train so low weight high volume.

People who play endurance sports for years and then start lifting almost always grow calves really easy. I played football and we almost all had huge calves.

Powerlifting is more accessible to the average person but strong man is just broadcasted better. And they still don’t do a great job at it. Wish you could watch more strength sports live like CrossFit does.

I can hit 225 for 10 reps but I’ve never even tried 315 .. i feel like 315 puts you in top 10% of average lifters easily where 225 might have you in the top 30%. That’s just my perspective though idk tbh
