I thought it was a remake of Tim Buckley's 'Sweet Surrender'. You may have heard of his son Jeff and a song from the 60s.
Love Marti and the Boys, oh how times were so much happier.....

A late 80s music classic Sweet surrender was released in September '89 We will never have this kind of talent ever again
I was born ‘84 and from the time I heard wet wet wet on the radio at a very young age , my heart was stolen. I probably don’t understand the meaning of words before growing up in the Philippines but music has a power unexplainable. It transcends time, race, religion. I’m 40 now and wet wet wet is still one up there on the top for me! Thank you for your music and memories!

I remember getting this album as a kid and thinking "This is gonna be shyte" then being totally mesmerized by every track:, lead vocals, harmonies, instruments, arrangements (especially the strings), THE MELODIES! The audio quality!!!! This of course is the edited version of Sweet Surrender but the full album version is out of this world. This was the Wets deepest most spiritual album lyrically. Their most cohesive work. Over 20 years later it's still on regular rotation on my Spotify 😊

Hey little fella, get your show together I was listening in before But now I don't care no more Look around now It's always that it's gonna get you down It's only begun One look is all it took I remember that sweet surrender I recall, do you That sweet surrender My determination Came creeping across the nation A sure mistake for anyone 'cause you can't take home everyone 'cause it's only just begun One look is all it took I remember that sweet surrender I recall, do you That sweet surrender I don't know, I don't care 'cause I'm living without you baby Even when I know what's going on It only took, one look, one glance To set my heart for romance Do you believe my sweet surrender My sweet surrender Hey little fella, now your show's together I never wanted you to listen before So why should I walk out that door Stick around now And so the story goes on through the night It's only begun One look is all it took I remember that sweet surrender Do you recall, 'cause I do That sweet surrender I don't know, I don't care 'cause I'm living without you baby Even when I know what's going on It only takes, one look, one glance To set my heart for romance One look is all it took My sweet surrender My sweet surrender One look is all it took to remember (I don't know and I don't care)

being in my sixties when I listen to them and his voice a tingle goes down my back and sadness that you cant go back to those days, if only we knew then what we know now and how brilliant all the music was, I wonder will the same thing happen to the youth in 40yrs, will they feel the same, I suppose they will but I feel the 60 and 80's were the best time changing musical eras, now it seems music seems to be just black rap shite, I grew up with Tamla and real soul not that rubbish and its all so serious and aggressive now

Fantastic song. Just a little pissed that I looked up Wet,Wet,Wet and expected to see only one listing of "Wishing I Was Lucky" as that was the song that I remember and found this gem 30 years later. What the hell, better late than never. Will be looking for other songs by this great band.
I typed in "Sweet Serender" by mistake and was taken to "Sweet Serenade" (Explicit) ft. Chris Brown. You couldn't get two completely different songs. I feel so sorry for the youth of today, the music today is so bad. This is real music. Love this classic song by WET WET WET.
