This was our wedding song and meant so much to us. My husband died suddenly 2 weeks ago. His funeral was today. I played this song after I read my Eulogy. It took on a different meaning but still said so much. x

This holds such a great emotion for me my darling husband turned 40 and i had it played on the radio for him , he rubbed his eye saying he has dust in it , sadly a little later at the tender age of 54 we lost him , my childhood sweetheart my soulmate my half that made me whole , the father of our three children who have now blessed us with two grandchildren we miss you every day love you every day and remember you with a smile and a few silent tears David Whittaker 1947-2002. My message to anyone is if you care about some one tell them be they young or old because tomorrow may never come x

I could be discontent and chase the rainbow's end I might win much more but lose all that is mine I could be a lot but I know I'm not I'm content just with the riches that you bring I might shoot to win and commit the sin Of wanting more than I've already got I could runaway but I'd rather stay In the warmth of your smile lighting up my day (The one that makes me say, hey) 'Cause you're the best thing that ever happened to me or my world You're the best thing that ever happened - so don't go away I might be a king and steal my peoples' things But I don't go for that power crazy way All that I could rule but I don't check for fools All that I need is to be left to live my way (Say listen what I say) I could chase around for nothing to be found But why look for something that is never there I may get it wrong sometimes but I'll come back in style For I realise your love means more than anything (The song you make me sing, yeah)

39 years ago tomorrow (18th May), this was released in the UK. I met my to be bride in November 1993 and we were wed on 25th September 2002. I took a CD of the Cafe Bleu album with us to Vegas as we got married Stateside and we had this played as our wedding song. We're still together almost 30 years later. The song is almost 40 years old. Peerless!

I must confess to being a late arrival to The Style Council sound on just discovering this gem in Jan 2016. Funny thing though, I have been an unknowing Paul Weller fan from way back in 1982 when I was living in Trinidad and first heard The Jam with "That's Entertainment". Loved that tune and played it endlessly. Fast forward to 2016 and I was doing a google search for the genre that Swing Out Sister played and discovered the term "Sophisti-Pop" that was also played by bands like the The Style Council. I almost pasted up on checking the link but took the time to see what the Council was about and then found "You're The Best Thing"..... been playing it for the past two days - love it! Coming full circle 34 years later... Paul Weller of the Jam has another hit with me. Great stuff.

We just call this The Song. (our wedding song) When times are rough we say, "Put on the song." and we dance. Thanks Paul Weller!

True classic, this song never gets old. It hits the nail right on the head when it comes to my wife of 33 years. Love you Clary.
