    Dan, I appreciate the effort, time & editing involved with creating this content. Glad that you used a magnetic oil plug as well. I've been searching for the 'answer' to RV needs, and- ended up on the Wen 56235i- so, your content is incredibly relevant. Good work & Thank You!

    @@DansWay For sooo many reasons- I would. However, when buying- it was NOT important to me, and- today, it seems like it would've been nice. However, once you've committed to carrying gas and the extras involved with making sure that you have enough, and it's fresh....BUT, there is a manufacturer that makes conversion kits for Yamaha/Honda generators. I believe that that this is a Yamaha knock-off, so- it could work with some engineering. But, I could've installed the Onan QG LP 2,500 and had the convenience of a switch inside that weighs 150Lbs... It's all a trade-off in the end: weight, storage space, NVH...I did NOT spend $1,019.00 on the Honda either- even though it's a little smaller but $600 more!

    @@DansWay Can we chat though? Why didn't you buy: the Wen cover, a hour meter & review the service side of the owners manual. Covering oil changes, spark plug changes, how to drain the gas out of the float bowl- all good stuff. I spent $600.00 cuz I did the Wen magnetic (Al) plug, a hour meter, the cover and an oversized 25' cable along with 2 convertor plugs (30 amp to 20amp & reverse). You strike me as 'that guy' as well. Dino oil for the 1st 10 hours (break in the rings), then forever to synthetic- right?

    I didn’t buy it all that from Wen as I don’t need the cover for how I use it, and already have the cords for my transfer switch and even use. I did get the magnetic tipped dipstick which is really great and an hour meter off Amazon. I’ll do an install video soon on that.

    @@DansWay Oops, I'm a total 'NOOB' Dan. I had absolutely nothing. It's my 1st Inverter Generator (and, boy was I nervous about making a mistake!) Thankfully, there are a few very outstanding YT reviews about the 56235i. I needed: hour meter, Al magnetic dip stick, cover, 25' 12/3 waterproof ext. cord, a 15 amp to 20 Amp plug...and more 'stuff'. I didn't have anti-seize compound, a spare sparkplug, a vacuum oil extractor...it all added @ $100 to the initial purchase. But, I'm a Yankee and even considered cheap up here in New England. Hahaha...

    When you turn the knob to fuel off, it stops the fuel from running into the carburetor. The generator stops running when all the fuel in the carburetor runs out of gas. When you then turn the knob to off, does that also turn off the flow to the carburetor? What does it hurt to just keep it in the fuel off position?

  • @DansWay

    @DansWay

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey Tim, so when you turn the knob all the way to off, the generator dies right away. If you use fuel-off, you can let it die, then just leave it in this position for storage no problem. If you just go straight off, the cab stays full of fuel, which will slowly dehydrate leaving a sticky sludge that will clog up the jets and/or make it hard to start next time.

    I have watched HOURS of inverter generator videos. I’m thankful I ran across yours! I’m a senior female and need help. I have a tiny camper that has a double mattress plus about 3 feet of storage area. It has a Fridgidaire 5000 btu,115 volt air conditioner. Will the WEN 2350i inverter run the AC and a one cup coffee marker at the same time? Thank you so much.

  • @DansWay

    @DansWay

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey, so sorry that I missed replying to your question right away. This 'should' work if the coffee maker isn't a full 1500W model. You can get smaller coffee makers that consume more like 900W which would be much more likely to work. Worst case you would have to turn off the AT for 5 minutes while you brew...

  • @DansWay

    Sorry no. In general you remove the side panel, remove a screw on the bottom of the carb to remove the bottom little tank. Once inside that, there is a screw in the side of the center section to remove. Behind that screw is the jet. Perhaps this would make a good video...

    I've been trying to find out what grounding is needed on this generator. It has a post to connect a ground but everywhere I go to get advice they're saying at least a 4 ft grounding rod needs to be used. I camp in the Rocky Mountains so good luck with that. Can't imagine people pounding in grounding rods in stone while on camping trips. I'm thinking its required if connecting to a home but for tent camping not so much. Do you know?
