Gene and Roy he refers to in his song is Gene Autry and Roy Rogers and Marshall Dillon (James Arness) and Miss Kitty (Amanda Blake) from Gunsmoke. As for a dance, a two step or line dancing would be great.

It's all nostalgia, longing for days past, a legendary but possible mythical Old West. Gunsmoke is the longest running TV western, 21 seasons from 1955 to 1975, set in Dodge City, Kansas in the 1870's. Marshall Matt Dillon (James Arness) was the lead actor. Kitty Russell (Amanda Blake) owned the Long Branch saloon. There was an unrequited romantic tension between the two of them. Viewers hoped they would marry but they never did. This is what the song refers to when Toby sings Marshall Dillon never hung his saddle at Kitty's place. Gene and Roy were Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, both are famous cowboy movie and TV actors and singers in the 1930s-1960s. You've heard Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, that's Gene singing. Roy married his co-star Dale Evans, their signature song is Happy Trails.

When people request prayer for serious health issues you might inform them about this option. THE PRAYER OF FAITH IN JAMES: Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. James 5:13-15 New King James Version In Jesus' Name (God of Possible) song by - Katy Nichole kzread.info/dash/bejne/hGxostOLlL2dj7w.html

Then I heard Toby for the first time. He paid tribute to older country while still carving his own path in the genre. He had funny songs, serious songs, heartfelt songs, and patriotic songs. He was a legend. Knowing that I will never hear a new Toby Keith song is so sad. RIP legend. Also Willie Nelson and Toby Keith were very good friends and a great song to check out is "I'll never smoke weed with Willie again.

When someone like Toby Keith dies and you feel like you want to cry, I say, I want my tears to be for Jesus Christ. Toby hung onto Him for strength in the end. I was surprised because it sounded like he was beating the cancer and then this. What really makes him a hero is his support for the guys in the military. He made numerous trips in hot spots to entertain and support them.

This song hits different for me than his other songs, though I love all of them. I live in Texas now, but was born and raised in Dodge City, Kansas. Should've Been A Cowboy was written in a motel bathroom in Dodge City. He and some buddies were in Dodge City on a hunting trip. They were in a bar having some drinks, all dressed in camo. One of his buddies decided to get up and asked a girl to dance. The buddy was shot down and returned to the table, dejected. Another buddy, knowing the wild west heritage of Dodge City, told the guy, 'Man, you should've been a cowboy'. Toby took it from there... RIP Toby

Sebs, if you like Toby and his videos that make you laugh and love life, check out his video called "Trailerhood". I watched his videos all day, laughing and crying. We have lost a wonderful person, both in song and in personality. I had the privilege of seeing him live 3 times. God bless you Toby. Sure you'll be singing to them angels.

When this song hit the air waves, I was a freshman in college. I bopped out to this song everyday. I was a little nervous being far away from home, but when I listened to Toby sing I would relax and smile.

Toby was totally down to earth too. I remember whenI lived in ND, he stopped into our local grocery store (very small town, no restaurant) and asked the store owner if she could make him a baloney sandwich. He was on his bike on his way up to Sturgis and needed lunch. Was just him, no entourage, no body guards (not that he needed them, the man was built), just him on his bike. He stuck around for probably an hour, just chatting with people, signing a few autographs, and enjoying his plain baloney sandwich!

This song is one of my favorites. Always will be. 80s and 90s country music was the best.

This was the first Toby Keith song i ever heard. It made me, a metal and prog fan, into a country fan back in the late 90's.

During my bartender days I lost a job at an alternative dance gay night club. I was lucky enough to (quickly) land a gig at a newly opening Country & Western gay dance club. Besides a much nicer crowd, (I was seeing someone) the dance HUGE floor was never empty. But ANYTIME our DJ dropped a Toby song..the dance floor was PACKED! 😱 It was hat-brim to hat-brim out there! It was our only true "quiet time" behind the bar. Time to wash glasses, empty ashtrays, and restock beer. "Play Toby, we're slammed back here" was common weekend nights. 🍻🍻🍻 Oh, and sorry Seb....I've yet to see a lot of "free-style", single person dancing at a C&W dance club. Except for line dances! And at least once a night the dance would the "Electric Slide"! My favor solo-ish dance since I got two left feet! 😁😁😁

Sebs, I can't thank you, enough, for doing more Toby. I have been chokin'-back tears, all day, again, today---I'm just not ready to let him go, and your delightful reactions make me smile!! As for a Latino, dancin' in a Country bar.... I tell you what.... As a card-carryin' hillbilly, I assure you that we don't care---we love/accept everybody; so, yes, it would be acceptable!!! ❤ Please do "Trailerhood", and "I Wanna Talk About Me" (official videos).

"Whiskey for my men, beer for my horses" is another good one from Mr. Keith. The video even co-stars another country legend, Mr. Willie Nelson.

Excellent reaction -- Toby has a big enough catalog to keep you busy for a while longer. Your reaction to this (and Toby's other songs) reminded me of a song you should listen to -- Songs About Me by Trace Atkins. I realize Trace Atkins isn't Toby Keith but this would be a song about your conversion to country. Maybe in a few days.

This is the era of country music I prefer to listen to! I am a definite rocker but my friends convinced us to go to country night and I really enjoyed myself! This was the early to mid nineties btw! Other great artists from that time are Alabama, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Brooks And Dunn, Wynnona Judd!
