Larry is going to be in some amateur events but not pro just yet He shows a ton of potential though I’d say a year or two and he will be able to compete in pro Just needs more experience and some added body weight sure wouldn’t hurt He has a gym physique, and that doesn’t work in strongman all too well Even Mariusz Pudzianowski had to gain weight before he was any good, and was 315 on average as a top strongman Larry is at I’m guessing around 250-260? If he gets up to 290-300 he should be able to do ok in most events He had pretty good strength but in some events his lack of body weight compared to other guys will hurt him

@@dragon81heart Larry was 275 when he got to Icelan. He's actually trying to bulk to 295~300 for the Arnold amateur contest. At this rate I can see him at the same BF% but at 290lb next year. If he had a gut, for sure would help him with stones and cleans but for the amateur he can get away being this lean. He's a much stronger presser and deadlifter than any amateur by a long shot.

  • @dragon81heart

Alexis Carvalho i definitely agree that he is already stronger in some things than most, if not all of the amateurs. He really does have amazing potential in this sport! And learning from Hafthor is a huge benefit! I didn’t know he was already putting on the weight that quickly I was just trying to make my best guess as to what he weighs lol If he is already getting close to 300 then he will do even better than I was expecting! Being around 300 is pretty close to the legendary Kaz in his prime, and if it were the early 80s he would already be a shoe in with the pros! (And could you imagine him and Kas going head to head in pressing? Kas would more than likely still win as he was one of the best ever at that, even with zero leg drive and pretty poor technique if I’m honest. But after seeing some of what Larry can already do at Thor’s gym, I bet he would put up a good fight. And well, it’s Kaz... Even today’s strongmen with better diets, training, supplements, gear, and coaching would have a tough time against Kas in his prime. The man was an absolute raw power monster!! So to come close to Kaz would be one hell of a feat!) But today’s strongman competition is bigger and heavier than ever. So if he can gain another 30 pounds at least along with more experience, I be he will be in the pros by this time next year. (Only thing he unfortunately can’t change is height, and next to Thor and Shaw, Larry almost looks small 😂 But Eddie was able to do it, so anything is possible) I hope he sticks with it, because I think he will have a bright future in this sport 💪 Go Larry!
