Blueprint to Cut

Building your dream body is about more than what you do in the gym. It's about what you do in your mind-how you visualize your success and envision your legacy. Arnold Schwarzenegger pictured himself as a champion bodybuilder, and he built a blueprint to become just that. Whether you want to shred for a competition or lose weight for life, Arnold's Blueprint to Cut will help you succeed.

Imagine a competition where you train with your opponent and actively aim to help them be as good as they can be. Making them train harder, eat as well as they can and make sure they were best prepared to win against you. Its like a whole new level of sportsmanship.

He was right about those little victories. I had a vision of myself having a six pack last year. I was 236 at 6'1" and out of shape. I achieved my goal this week at 170 pounds. I almost shed a tear when I did 5 pull ups for the first. This gave me so much confidence to push forward.

Michael Bonyad yea there’s a weird period where not much is progressing and you feel like giving up because it’s taking so long but if you push through the slump the progress starts to come fast. I could barely do 2 pull ups 3 months ago, now I do 10 weighted. 155 lbs was a really hard squat for me, now I can rep out 155 like it’s nothing. All in just a few months

Good job! Keep it up! I’m 41 and started going back to the gym a week ago after not lifting in 17 years. I started walking a couple miles a day a few weeks ago. I’ve gained like 60 pounds over the years and now have an umbilical hernia. So I can only do a few things in the gym right now. Will be getting surgery in a few months though. Can’t wait to really get back into lifting. It crazy how much going to the gym regularly makes you feel so much better.

+DamnDesert If a guy's sitting there for 5+ minutes on a machine that doesn't really require much rest, sure, say something if that's ur thing. But sometimes I hear old school guys suggest nobody should use their phone ever in the gym, as if you can't even rest 3 minutes between a heavy set of squats and pick a different song to listen to. I'm old school about basic exercises, but I don't see any problem with using a phone in the gym. If I keep track of sets, reps, weights, exercises, etc., I'm gonna do it on my phone, I'm not gonna bring a notebook. Much bigger problem in gyms is when the only spot for chin ups is the handles attached to the cable machine and you have 2 or 3 dickheads doing biceps curls there for 45 minutes and posing in the mirror.

It was a great event despite Arnold's less than perfect acting at the time, but the scenes presented in that film made it clear that the producers were genuine Conan fans, and we all loved the fact that Arnold was the spitting image besides! Having a training partner or being part of a team will literally change bodybuilding for you, it feels so natural for men to be competing even when its friendly. Honestly, if you've never tried it is blatantly life changing. I row competitively., and a large component is weight training, predominantly for legs strength, core, etc. There are 30 of us, and we all motivate each other, and its amazing.

coolkayaker1 I was actually impressed; lets be honest. Most interviewers within the Fitness world just babble a bunch of meaningless shit or are so goofy it isn't even funny. This guy actually listened and asked questions based upon what Arnold had said, therefore asking the questions that the viewers themselves would be asking when watching. Kudos to him, top bloke and a very good example for the fitness industry.

Best part IMO 33:37. Arnold is a perfect example of a guy who realizes the body will adapt or die trying with whatever you throw at it, be it 1000 lbs on calf raises, 6 hours sleep every night, and 18 hours of go-go. If you want achievement, the only person holding you back is yourself. In his book he also mentions that after his first competition in which he placed second, he was at first pleased because he expected 4th or 5th. Paraphrasing, he wrote, "I was happy until I got in my head and realized I beat my expectations, so why then didn't I set them higher?" Shortly after he writes, "From then on I was always going for the top. If you were inside my head you would hear, 'I am the best, just get out of my way, you are slowing me down.'

Arnold is a living icon. So many kids picked up weights after growing up seeing his movies. I’ve been into fitness since middle school and Arnold was my biggest inspiration. Such a positive influence across the world. So much good bodybuilding advice here. He’s so genuine.

This is literally 42 minutes of gold, dude. Thank you all for the creation of this interview, and for allowing him to truly speak freely. Pure knowledge and wisdom, even Bruce Lee would agree. Talking about volume is to get that metabolic burn that you body so badly needs in order to trigger new muscle growth.

@@jjwp-ql5rv Well, you're an idiot if you don't know Bruce Lee was a bodybuilder. This is pure knowledge and Bruce Lee loved knowledge, so I am certain he would agree with many things Arnold says here.
