It's really quite startling how quickly he seems to have aged but that's because when he made Terminator 2 he was already in his mid-40's so even a decade later with his movies he looked strangely older than we thought he'd look by then.

this has so much class and respect, no unneeded music or whatever, the overall calm and classy presentation and dialogue is really appealing, no forced humor or whatever.

Both Arnold and the interviewer are class acts. This was very pleasant to watch. Already an Arnold fan and love him even more.

I love how Arnold doesn't act like all the fake American celebrities who just laugh and go along with everything, he disagrees and corrects the interviewer and even reminds him to not put himself down, what great guy

Arnold had so much charisma, he was soft spoken and very well spoken as well especially when you consider he came to the U.S when he was already 21 years old.

Amazing how soft spoken and relatable he is. Goes to show you why he was able to come what he became.

Mad props to Arnold for saying “First of all I have to compliment you for your physical development because you really look athletic and good, so don’t put yourself down”. This is true manliness right here. Lifting people up and encouraging them to get fit while not letting them trash themselves. Arnold is a true badass

Exactly brother well said. But - we need that ego now and then when lifting heavy and need that push. That's when training with someone bigger and stronger than you are comes In handy - motivation and the drill Sargent telling you too lift that shit. Muscles are not soft - so the attitude towards achieving them shouldn't be soft either.

What a pleasant interview. Both the host and Arnold were so calm and easy to listen to.

Man, Arnold was incredible in this video and the host was really well spoken and friendly too. What a great combination.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the interviewer? They were very well spoken. They didn't pile on stupid jokes the whole time, only the occasional one. He treated Arnold like a human being, they gave him respect and Arnold gave them respect right back. I wish more interviewers nowadays would be like this guy.

What an amazing video. Arnie's just the most supportive and complimentary guy! I love how he cares that the presenter is performing the exercise properly. I am presuming that back then the general public was relatively unaware of weight-lifting, and Arnie's there introducing it and showing his passion for it. He's always been an inspiration to many of us gym goers! Bless him as well, the presenter, that bar was a bit heavy for him I think.

"Nutritional Supplements"... Yeah, no amount of technique or diet can get you to his size. "The Wall" he talks about is the ceiling for natural development. You need gear to go beyond it, and if you think he didn't gear up, you're fooling yourself. I'm not trolling; I am just not going to sit here and pretend that he's some kind of paragon of sheer will and human potential. He juiced up because if you don't, you lose.

Arnold was a true athlete as well. He wasn’t just all strength and muscle he had functional strength and mobility

What a simple informative polite interview. We miss shows like this these days.

Come on, how can you NOT like this guy? Arnold is just such a class act, always has been. Arguably the greatest body builder of all time, and yet he's just so humble, so positive, so open to sharing the information with others. Never once puts this guy down for how small he is, just supports him and shows him the proper way to do each exercise, complimenting him the whole way through. Just really brings a smile to my face, this is what it's all about. Not about being bigger or better than anyone else, it's about pushing yourself to become the best version of yourself, and then helping others get there as well :')

What people don't realise is after this interview reporter got so inspired by Arnold that he also started training and won Mr.Olympia afterwards. His name is Ronnie Coleman.

I’ve been weight training 13 years now. I’ve lost and kept off more than 80lbs of fat, and I’m currently on the next leg of my fitness journey, which is to get under 20% body fat. Two of the most important pieces of advice I would give anyone thinking about getting into shape: 1) discipline - motivation will come and go, but you have to treat working out and eating to support your goals like a job. Clock in and out every single day. Once it becomes a good habit, you’re more likely to continue on into making it a way of life. 2) patience - depending on your genetics, current state of fitness, and your goals, it could take you YEARS to get where you want to be. But don’t be discouraged, because hardly anything good comes in life without grinding for it. You have to think about the long game, in that regard it’s no different than earning a college degree, or making a successful business, it takes time and effort. A bonus piece of advice - STAY INSPIRED. What you watch, listen to, who you hang around, etc will all affect your state of mind. The battle for the body is waged in the mind. Keep your mind always full of the most positive and inspiring things you can find, whether they are podcasts, sports movies that inspire, documentaries about bodybuilding/sports, etc. This one really goes a long way!

Excellent video! Arnold is extremely intelligent and articulate. His personality and aura are quite charming. He’s an absolutely wonderful representative of bodybuilding. I love how he teaches technical lifts like bench press and squats in such a simple manner to someone who’s not very familiar with bodybuilding and wishes to learn more about it. His charisma is truly top-notch! 🙌

How often words cost nothing at all to say, but are very dear to those to whom they are addressed and can change a person’s future life. This is an incredible charge of motivation and inspiration. Arnie the legend

Love this. Love how he was just trying to teach this guy and tell him even though you don’t have muscles that doesn’t mean you’re not a fit and healthy person. You’re fine and you should know that. Just keep working hard and you’ll achieve your goals.

Not everyone is a beta in every social situation. Most people are usually betas. They let other people take charge. I have a feeling that you're one of those.

Every time i met Arnold (even at the first time when i was 21 with 14 " arms and 68 KG) he was nice and handsome, he jokes in the gym, give autographs and allways had time for pictures (outside the gym). At the second time he treats me like we knows each other for long time. Not that arrogant BIIIG Star most people thinks he is.

This man is an icon, not only of one but, many generations. I wish to meet him one day

Pumping iron is such an awesome film if you plan on or currently work out. Arnold never disrespects the people he tries to help and shows how legendary he is.

I love the way Arnold approaches him with zero judgement.What a classy guy. You’re the man Arnold.

something about this is more real and genuine than all the content people pump out these days. I loved arnolds comment about how the host looked great and to not put himself down. thats whats going to get you farthest in life.

I started as a health purpose and lose weight urgently and end my bad habits with alcohol. 4 years later, lost 67 pounds and now I’m body building and getting bigger and keeps my mind in a better place. Went from XL to M shirts

That was a very good interview. The interviewer asked very good, relevant questions and was polite, and Arnold gave very informative answers; all in a very short segment. I think interviews back in the day were a lot more productive and informative and ones we see today.

Every so often I'll come back to this beautiful capsule of time.

@@robbyterrill5707 he admitted taking steroids but those were the ones which were legal drugs back in the time... and he used them specifically for maintaining his muscle mass during cutting as cutting causes muscle mass to reduce. It's his hardwork, determination, dedication which makes him an inspirational figure for all of us. I'm from india and I dont think any celebrity would have motivated that interviewer like how Arnold did, just before that workout.
