I used the tutorial for the self drafted walking skirt and have made at least a half dozen so far. They have become a staple in my daily wardrobe and get mixed with a combination of historical, vintage and modern pieces. I used the pattern to make a flannel petticoat which I wear with it in the winter that acts as lining. I am definitely pro walking skirt!

A winter walking skirt and a summer walking skirt - I like both of them for different reasons, the two of them have both the colours for the seasons as well as the weight and fullness - they both work beautifully.

I also prefer to make unlined skirts (I wear long 1930s skirts every day). As a Texas girl, it's useful to be able to adapt one skirt to the weather by wearing different petticoats underneath.

Thanks for sharing! I love walking skirts but the only one I ever made had a problem with the hem facing flaring outwards, and it always looks like I’m wearing a bell. It took so much time and fabric I
