Both the dress and overdress turned out very well. That green is an excellent color on you! I have also costumed Into the Woods and put my stepsisters into crazy costumes! Have fun sewing those! Love the final twirl!

I think the colour difference is better than a matching green so the embroidery doesn't disappear. I thought if you had a tulle the same white you could have used that for the sleeves. Your open robe looks great too

Looks great! Especially having to do it with stretch fabric. I think the open robe gives Roman stola vibes, so you could totally give it a bs aesthetic title like "~Classically Inspired~" and sound 100% legit 🤣

This is so lovely. The satin is just right and the overlay is wow. I've not watched any of Bridgerton and really don't intend to. But I do have plans to make a Regency dress as a cosplay. A while ago I watched a Chinese historic fantasy drama and I'd like to make a European based cosplay on the lead female character and the Regency style is what I feel would work well as an interpretation of the Chinese style.

I'm working on the same pattern but as a complete beginner - do you think I can make the dress full-length just adding to the bottom of the pattern? I plan to so the underdress (under layer in the pattern) from a blue cotton sheet and the second layer will be this very thin white curtains, almost see through, that I want to gather at the back. I have made a fuller skirt with inserts before, but I'd rather not cut (and hem) more than I have to.
