18th Century menswear is so underrepresented in costuming circles given how everyone loves a good poofy pirate shirt. I wondered what to adjust in Ora Lin's pattern for those of us with more generous hips than busts. Your shirt looks great!

Have just been thinking about this myself. How about making shirt to hip measurement plus ease and gathering the shoulders in. using the shoulder re-enforcement pieces to hold the gathering at the shoulders.
Your shirt came out beautifully! This design is so versatile. You could wear it with modern slacks or with your historical walking skirts. Keep this shirt design in your repertoire as it’s definitely a keeper!

My husband need a new Ren faire shirt but i can't seem to make myself make one. Maybe this would work. He doesn't like a lot of material at his wrists so i might taper the sleeves. Sigh that's part of the reason i haven't made the shirt.😂 ok get there eventually, maybe when we are more motivated to go to faire again.

I made my horizontal cut 14" and my vertical cut 10".
