the irony of Allura saying Vax believed in "coin over character", and then that moment where he tosses the coin into the collapsing cavern. I do love the way Zack keeps watching Nicole for her reaction. Grog should be greyish, being a goliath, who tend to have skin tones that resemble stone. Sir Fince seems to have been adapted to be a Drow here, so blue is appropriate.

The sandal at Gilmore's is a reference to "the Sandal of Gygax." Once upon a time, Gary Gygax (the inventor of D&D) had been working as a shoemaker. One day when he was halfway through making a pair of sandals, he got the news that his game was a hit and he could quit his day job. The last sandal he ever made is auctioned every year to a new holder, who then passes it on the year after.

Regarding colours, I'll just point out that women are more likely to have a fourth cone that lets them differentiate more shades of colour (25% of the world's population has tetrachromacy). By which I mean I totally see the blue in both Fince and Grog's skin so I'm on Nicole's side lol

Yeah, they are both grey that have blue in them... Like there are greys that don't have blue in it.... But they do, IMO.

Although I'm not quite up to date these days, as a long running fan of CritRole, I love seeing new people getting introduced to this world - especially our first love, Vox Machina. It's still wild to me that as industry veterans they set the Kickstarter goal as a reasonable amount to produce maybe an hour special or two parter to "test the waters" and smashed through every stretch goal basically overnight and then as you said went on to break Kickstarter records by the end. So what was going to be a pre-stream treat for fans immediately became a full show. Amazon came into it because even though they are producing the whole thing themselves, with Titmouse Studios (Avatar among other things) they still needed a publisher so the audience could actually see it. Amazon was the only platform that didn't want to meddle with the story or try to censor it to be kid safe. Amazon was happy to leave them completely in control of their own product. So good, and happy to see you learn more about this crew of misfits over the two seasons - possibly in time for three to launch.

Amazon would have been hypocritical to demand any type of censorship of Vox Machina. coughINVINCIBLEcough But yeah is was nice of them to decide to meddle with Vox Machina. That 11 Million Dollar Kickstarter probably convinced them that what Critical Role has works and they didn't need to meddle to make money.

@@ForeverDegenerate Absolutely, I get the feeling that when team CritRole talked about it, it was less that Amazon thought about meddling but more that other publishing companies definitely wanted to meddle. I'm glad Meta Pigeon get to keep full control of the process. I imagine the 11 Million Kickstarter was why Amazon immediately bought two seasons.

@@JnEricsonx I'm on a short break between Campaign 2 and Campaign 3. Vox Machina were my first love here and will always hold a place for that - but geez Mighty Nein are one heck of a ride too, so glad to hear they are being greenlight too. I assume they would wait for LoVM to finish up first, due to some world state shenanigans, but who knows.

I can't wait for you to see the Behind the scenes video for Voz Machina. As a new Critter myself, my mind has been opened up to a fantasia of wonder and I'm so happy for you guys to share this ride with me. Prepare for a Rollercoaster of emotion and ultimately triumph ❤

Okay, so Grog has been depicted as greyish-blue but CANONICALLY, he's grey.

Grog definitely has a blue-ish skin tone, though it’s less prominent than in Fince. I’d still call it grey, but there’s a strong tint. Subscribed and looking forward to the rest of the show with y’all! I’m a relatively new critter myself and enjoy seeing others get into it as much as I did!

The livestream pre-Briarwoods is still quite fun. There is however a player who is variously accused of main character syndrome, metagaming, fudging dice rolls,, lewd behaviour that somehow lacked the redeeming fun side of the other players' lewd behaviour. And that's just the in-game stuff. It was agreed to part ways at around the start of the Briarwood campaign. To be fair, he was going through some health problems and a resultant drug addiction. A lot of people find that his presence made the early episodes a difficult watch. For myself, I will find them enjoyable apart from perhaps a couple of moments. Another issue with the early episodes is a lot of sound problems.

What makes the children's deaths even more heartbreaking if you think about is the kids are played by Liam and Sam's kids, so they kind of killed their own kids.

I agree with Nichole. The DnD moments are exceptional. I love this series. A treat for any long-time gamer (if you can deal with the adult themes). I've been a gamer and fantasy geek since DnD was created, and this feels like coming home.. Yes, Nicole, the grey skin tones are a shade of pale blue. 😂

7:00 Gilmore has a bit of a tummy in the campaign. From the very first time that Matt describes him. Of course there's fan art that draws him without one but he canonically isn't super duper thin and muscley.

they started streaming when they had just reached level 9, so they fought the dragon probably at level 8

16:18 - It's a repurposed farming sickle with a bent point for stabbing. It's not as nonsensical as it looks actually, it's an easy to make weapong for a bandit who can't afford or can't get military weapons, just use a farming implement and make it into a weapon.

Is Zach saying Grimsythe or Brimscythe lol? They were at level 9 at this point in time 👍🏻 The most impressive part of their Kickstarter to me was the fact that they raised their goal in LESS than an hour. The critters were like 'hold my beer' 😂🎉 You guys should react to The Last of Us if you haven't already!

Actually, that is Khary Payton. Mercer played Uriel in the campaign, but Khary voiced him in LOVM.

@@meanyvizzini8347 I think you missed the Critter point. Both TMN and Critters love Shakasta, so we see the guy who plays Shakasta when we see Khary. That is who he is, everything else Khary has done is irrelevant; he is the guy who plays Shakasta.
