Fun fact, to record Grog's burps, they used a mix of Marisha's and Laura's burps. They both can get a good volume on them.

2:50-Irony that you used the Thor quote: Travis/Grog has VOICED Thor for like 10 years.

One thing I didn't hear Zack mention is when the Kickstarter started, the plan was to only do one episode, which turned into two episodes via stretch goals (and obviously a whole season after that). But, I mention it because Episodes 1 and 2 were what was originally intended to be produced, and that's why they chose to start with pre-stream content andfwhy it's kind of its own mini-arc (and why VM finds the blue dragon so early on)

Yup, it was supposed to be a single 20 minute short about one of the random pre-stream adventures and it just blew completely out of proportion.

A way to remember Vax is the male is (A)dam and Vex is female (E)ve. I've heard many critters use this to remember and I hope it helps!

I agree, but I would also make sure you're girlfriend/wife, I don't know your relationship, is cool with you, revealing all these things that she hasn't seen yet. Personally, I don't like when people do that. If I have questions, I'll ask, and if there's additional information that the show doesn't talk about, then I'll ask or they'll tell me, but I personally prefer to find things out for myself, so I would just run that by her, or ask your boyfriend/husband to make sure you're cool with it. Not only, for me, does it take away from me learning things from myself, but it also distracts me from watching the actual show while it's going on, so I miss a lot of important stuff. Just something to make sure you're communicating on. Regardless, I'm sure you'll enjoy the show, I just want to make sure you're getting max enjoyment out of it, and that you aren't unintentionally upset at each other. communication is key. Have a good day.

Welcome to an incredible ride, this show is possibly THE BEST adaptation of anything I've ever seen, and the development is wonderful and you are only just on the cusp. I envy you, experiencing this for the first time.

I know even the cast has t-shirt memes of "I'm Vax she's Vex" etc because people always get the names confused but what helped me and never mixed them up after was learning their full first name, Vax'ildan and Vex'ahlia. One clearly masculine and the other clearly feminine sounding.

I hope she likes it! I'm huge 9 year critter as well. and I LOVE this series. They did so freaking good on it and can't wait for s3

Vex would react the same way regarding the coin 😂 Scanlan grows on you, dont worry. Their depiction of him is deliberate for growth. Just a quick correction for ya regarding the skyship, it's brumstone that makes it fly 👍🏻 And the kids of the fisherman couple were actually Liam O'Brien's daughter and Sam Riegel's son 😊

Fun little easter egg when Vax is doing the coin trick. The kid asks if Vax is a wizard, which of course Vax says no, it's all sleight of hand. However his player/VA Liam DOES play a wizard named Caleb in campaign 2, which is amost certainly being referenced.

I also find Percy to be somewhat of a butt. And Taliesin agrees. Scanlan started at the bottom is legit. There's room to grow. The usual mnemonic is vAx (as in Adam) and vEx (as in Eve). but Matt was mixing them up throughout the campaign.

The fact that Percy is a butt is part of the appeal 💜💜 I'll add that all the PCs in the major campaigns are butts in various ways. I'm always charmed by how much they like each other despite the assorted personality flaws. Like, how can THIS one make friends and be loved when they (blah blah flaws)? Yet they do.

11:33 Dragon is operating under the "rule of cool" here, it is written to look cooler than Vox and beat them so the rule book is put aside. The animation doesn't always follow the original story, this losing fight against the dragon never happned.

After seeing the first 2 seasons I started watching CR as well, I am 47 eps into C2, and have happily met most of CR by now.

Hello! So... I confess, the following comment is a copy and paste of one I wrote quite a while back, have tweaked several times, and so now I fall back on it to give a Critical Role explanation. Yes, it's a bit longer than average, but... there's A LOT of stuff to cover, I summarized as best I could. Welcome to the world of Critters. Once upon a time, many years ago a talented voice actor was about to have a birthday, and to celebrate Matt Mercer, another well-established voice actor and talented GM (Game Master) offered to run a role-playing game for a group of friends... who also all happened to be voice actors. So, a group of nerdy ass voice actors sat around and played D & D. The group had so much fun they made it a regular thing, Felicia Day of 'Geek and Sundry' heard about this game and approached them with the idea of streaming it... and it became a hit in its field, eventually growing into its own company and channel known as Critical Role. Parting on good terms with their previous home, Felicia Day has a small role in the beginning of episode 2. Vox Machina was the group of characters they played in Campaign One, there has also been a Campaign Two, in which the cast plays a whole new group of adventurers. Both are set in the same world, but on different continents, and Campaign Two is set a few decades after the end of Campaign One. Each campaign ran for over a hundred episodes which are all over three hours long, and we are over 80 episodes into Campaign Three. They have also put out a bunch of other content, from talk shows to shorter games in other Role Playing worlds. They have played live shows to sold out theaters, become the number one channel on Twitch, have merch stores in multiple countries, have comics and actually published books of fan art (there are some talented as F*** Critters) they also started a nonprofit charity to... "Leave the World a Better Place." The whole cast would all tell you that they never expected any of this, that it has been a wild ride and they are just trying to hold on and be worthy of it. A few years ago they started looking into the possibility of an animation, but no one was buying, or at least not on their terms, so they went to the Critters to try and raise upwards of $700,000.00 over the course of 45 days in order to make a two-part special for themselves and their fans.... The Critters laughed, and smashed through not just the goal amount, but also ALL of their stretch goals within an hour. By day 45 they had raised nearly 11 and a half million dollars, added a bunch more stretch goals, and the two-part special became a season. Amazon took note and basically funded a second season (3rd season was green lit just before season 2 dropped) to get the streaming rights, but the show is created by Critical Role. Those Nerdy Ass Voice actors are the producers and have full creative control. Most of the people they hired, from writers to artists and composers are also fans who love and know the story and its world. It is one of the truest examples of a project of love I have ever seen. During the production of season one of the animation they put out a series of videos to keep their fans in the loop of how things were going. Interviewing the people behind the scenes and giving non spoiler info about the production. It's a good watch and will really help you understand the devotion and love that went into this project, as well as introduce the cast, the people who created these characters and this amazing story. Personally, how the lead composer got the job is one of my fav stories. And no I did not misspell Nein. They have also reached a multi year agreement that Amazon gets the first look at any new shows OR movies Critical Role wants to produce. Many a fans ears perked up at the mention of possible movies given the popularity of a particular 4 episode and done Campaign, “Exandria Unlimited Calamity” It is a separate adventure set in the same world, but way, WAY, before Vox Machina's or The Mighty Nein's Time. My personal opinion: the first two episodes are the worst in the entire series. They only get better from there.

K at first i was about itm but homie you talk waay too much trying to hear what she has to say. Just be quiet and watch the show and let her react. After the show ask her what her thoughts were. But stop doing it throughout the entire episode.
