i wouldn't say that he was more tragic or less tragic. But I think the path he had chosen to "solve" his troubles was infinitely more dangerous

@@chad8767 true. For me, though, that's usually background talk, or little details, that, especially since I'm blind, I might not notice the first time around. The audio description doesn't mention everything. I usually notice all of the main dialogue though, but that's me. I really like watching breakdowns and stuff like that, because there's plenty of background stuff that I have no hope of ever noticing on my own.

@@ZeldaWolf2000 I also watch everything with subtitles, and so I prefer to watch the actual Critical Role streams after so I can pop back when I miss stuff...

The creatures aren't one-to-one identical to any of the monsters in 5e, but they combine elements of both wraiths and shadows.

I loved that whole scene, like something straight out of Pulp Fiction 😄

It certainly was a jam packed episode. In fact, that's something the writing team did INCREDIBLY well because they're able to tell pretty much the full story from the tabletop but not make it feel rushed.

he is very loving, he wants everything for her. That's what makes them compelling villains.

@FandomFuse Delilah Briarwood is a Wizard with a Nercomancy Sub-Class aka a Necromancer. Also, since you didn't mention it, I assume you didn't know... but the Wight (yes those undead monsters are called "Wights") that Vex shoots in the back of the head that they zoom in on as he turns around to face the "camera?" That's Matt Mercer. That's your "Hidden Matt Mercer" for the episode. Oh and to settle the "Color Debate," Grog is, technically, a Gray-Skinned Goliath. But they, definitely, added some blue pigmentation to Grog's skin for the cartoon.

Vax is very much the nickname guy. He has one for everyone (except maybe Percy? I can't remember one for him). He first called Pike Pickle when she healed him in the fountain during the Briarwood fight.

Because Percy had SO MANY names, Vax made a game of coming up with new nicknames for him all the time. At one point he even tried calling him Mussel and Percy said "There it is, you've found the line, please stop."

Great job on episode 4, you two. I dont normally like watching reactors do episodic television but I'm a sucker for TLoVM, and you guys are doing it justice. I can't wait to see you do some feature-length films.

In the first arc of the campaign, Pike's holy symbol did crack because she committed a dark act (slit someone's throat while they were asleep). And she had to spend time at a temple to atone. To be fair to Ashley it was her first game after months away so she was excited to tear some shit up.

The thing with the whole grey vs blue thing is that characters that are grey (for example Grog), will often be coloured with a slightly bluish hue as just flat grey is very hard to shade and highlight in both art and animation without it looking very dull, so adding that slight bluish hue it actually makes the image a lot easier to work with.

Great reaction :) I really look forward to these. 11:28: I've watched these episodes multiple times now, and it never occurred to me that being separated "like children" with Keyleth (who is Percy's BFF in the game, they definitely have sibling vibes,) might bring back traumatic memories. I love that! ...wait. I mean, I don't love it for Percy, obviously. But it's a great connection to make, I hadn't noticed it! You're totally right, the shove into the room was even similar to the flashback with his sister, when they end up on the floor watching the door close. They've been at the Keep for a while, long enough for Percy to build a workbench at least (I mean, it's not like he sleeps :p), and for Pike to set up her Shrine etc, they did a small time jump between Brymscythe and the feast. May I suggest turning on the subtitles, since you aren't wearing headsets, and talking over some of the dialogue? It's just that a lot of things are being planted for later in the story, and some of the details are a little blink-you-miss-it :) A shame that I think Nicole may have missed two of the sweetest lines in the episode, Percy's "For the record, I think you're damn worthy" and Grog's "But what if I need you?" they aren't important at all, but... feels. "Why would you leave Trinket!?" Mostly because bears are hard to animate. But also sort of a joke because he was often forgotten about for large stretches of the campaign, and then suddenly Laura (Vex) would be like "Oh no! Where's Trinket!?" And remember they were just strolling through towns with a huge armor-plated bear in tow. There were a handful of times that, in hindsight, they should have had a MUCH harder time getting in to/out of except the whole table (including Matt) forgot about the bear. 🤣

Delilah in the game is a necromancer, but here there are hints that she might have a warlock pact with the whispered one.

Why would they leave Trinket behind? Because he's really hard to animate. The people at Blindspot even through a couple Critical Role references for Ashley - she got to say she played a "gnome cleric" at one point, and had a Critical Role mug. And when Ashley left, there were real tears from the cast. She is the real reason there even is a Critical Role, as it was her talking to Felicia Day at a party that led to the stream.

Also because the first sovereign didnt think there should be a single ruler like a king/queen/empereor but its what the people were used to. So she set up the first council and ruled with them as advisors

completely unimportant correction - the show Ashley Johnson was on that made her miss games was called Blindspot, not Blindside. only mentioning it because i actually loved that show lol.

Commenting before watching but I would like to give out this very important piece of information: my dad is colorblind; therefore, it is genetically impossible for me to be colorblind and both Fince and Grog are grey but also Blu-Tack colored... so...

You also turn into a Vampire Spawn not a full Vampire and have to drink the blood of the Vampire that turned you (Who has control over you)
