I paid £36 for a 3.6kg camping caz bottle refill the other day. 🤪 I’m loving your English location pronunciations.. they’re as dodgy as my Scottish place name pronunciations 😂 I was wondering last week how wild camping would go this week for you in England. Hard to be stealth in an actual motorhome I guess. Was dying to know how the lens is too. What a legend finding it Gemma 🤩

Hi Guys you need to sort the gas situation must be a constant worry and drain on your time and money. Try refillable bottles initial out but gas at the pump is so cheap. Diesel heater they are fantastic. Cheap induction hob from Ikea and a Jackery to power it (other power banks are available) love the channel would love to see you two abroad France/Spain

That castle looked amazing! I hope you do end up going back someday so we can all get a peek at the inside. 🙂 Gemma, I love the knit neck warmer you had on during your hike, it looked so cozy!

Hi lads Just been catching up this week and noticed your trouble with the gas, well could have a solution. We have an A Class and Steve got a refill adapter kit for our gas ( Amazon are cheap enough) works a treat and don't have the hassle of gas hunting lol. Loved this week's vid Gemma what a bloody legend 👏😘😘

I love listening to Gemma the Legend and the channel. It is part of my effort to learn Scottish. 🏆

Wow Gemma you legend! Can't believe you guys managed to find the lens! I'm so glad you guys feel the same about vanlife in England. I literally started to think I was being fussy where I park. I think social media makes vanlife look so easy but in reality it can be a struggle. I love how you guys show this in your vedios 🙌

Controversial!! Jam first, cream second! Well done finding the camera lens - definitely deserve an easy dinner after that!! Ambleside is a beautiful corner of the country. My Aunt and My Grandma both love that bit. We have special memories of Tarn Hows, Wast Water and Honister Pass.

there's great free parking area on a small lane between Portinscale and Keswick. It's the walkers route to Catbells, and also Station ave beside Kewick Gym/Leisure pool. Guess i had a smaller covert van though

Another great episode. You guys are fantastic. And Gemma .... wow ... what a woman doing what you did! It was a photographer's worst nightmare! Be encouraged about the weather as it has been a dreadful summer on the east coast of Australia. Finally the sun is out .... well for today at least! Thanks guys!

Well done finding the lens Gemma! Love the Lake District, but it’s always too busy when we have visited in the past. Parking was terrible. Now we are both retired it will be easier to go off peak. As always, enjoyed this vlog! Take care.

Gemma you deserve a medal for getting into that water! So glad you found the lens though. I have driven those roads in the Lake District many a time and when it floods or indeed snows it can get quite dangerous as I found out a few times, with some hair raising moments when the weather suddenly changed. I got stuck in an unexpected snow storm on top of Dunmail Raise, just outside of Keswick, which put my driving skills and nerves to the test. Still I absolutely love the Lakes...oh and some years ago went on that walk to the cave in Rydal, Ambleside. I was based briefly in my working days in Tyldesley, Greater Manchester and yes that seems like a rip off for gas. Where I live we have a local store that sells and supplies bottled gas, as there are two caravan parks either side of my town and also some residential static home sites nearby in this part of Lancashire.

Had a bit of a chuckle with the title of this video!! Starting off with the camera lens, those are not cheap! When you pulled up to empty the loo, my thought went to: "Oh Lord! He's gonna lose the cap again!!" Had to stop it at the Town of Ambleside. Having my own fits with Neuropathy and cannot sit for long. But, I love the scenery at the falls!

I’ve just picked up my little home only 2 weeks ago and have been very mindful of conserving gas! As single female traveling solo I have been paying for camp sites with electric and purchase a teeny oil filled radiator. Radiator has helped but one morning woke up to 5 degrees Celsius inside! Welcome to van life! I’m actually toasty in my sleeping bag with liner and blanket over top. If I get cold I will add my beanie and or a fleece. I just hate getting up to loo in middle of night…. Soooooo cold 🥶 I just keep thinking if I can persevere through rest of winter season I won’t need much gas after that. If the nights are in the 40’s it makes a huge difference than the 30s! Love watching you. Love how real you are but honestly don’t wish you any more travesty or bad luck! I’m in Brecon Beacons right now and just climbed Pen Y Fan other day, so incredible! It was a bucket list item. Check it out. Also bought my National Trust membership last night. Wishing you joy in the journey 🤗

Time to get a refillable system of some sort. Do you ever use pub stops ?, most pubs with space will let you park overnight if you just have a drink.

Yep. Lake District is expensive in the car parks. However free parking was easy. My motor home is only two birth, which means it's shorter, but I was there over three weeks and only did two nights on sites.

If you are both still down in the Bristol area, have you thought about touring the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales? It's only just over an hour away. Some highlights, world's fastest sit down zip wire (Zip World), national showcaves, stunning scenery, multiple waterfalls and 886m Pen-Y-Fan mountain to name but a few.......

Unfortunately we’re not down that way anymore. We toured around the whole of wales a number of years ago and went to zip world, the underground trampoline park was so cool! Definitely somewhere we’re planning to go back to soon 😁

Hopefully you haven't seen what South Wales has to offer for example Zip World has only just opened, it's a completely new experience. In any case enjoy Malta and I look forward to your Vanlife adventures. Any thoughts of where you might go in the summer?

The issue with place markers on Google maps is they are placed by users. Users who don't think to zoom in. So while looking at a map of the whole of the UK, they click near their town. Done. When you zoom in however, their cafe or whatever is actually 4 miles away.

Wray Castle isn't actually a castle: It's a house built in 1840 by a retired surgeon, financed by his wife's fortune. Though built 'in the style' of a castle, it's apparent that it isn't a real castle if you look at it carefully: castles are military fortifications, and the thing about military fortifications is that their main objective is to make them defendable. Wray Castle is hardly defendable, what with the ground floor windows and all!

I cant believe how you just get in that water.. I struggle jumping in the Med in August haha. Well done for finding the lens though, that was lucky. Apart from Water did it suffer any damage?. I'm in Yorkshire and parking is virtually nine existent. We can't find gas either, borrowed a camping stove until I can find some. Hope your lens is usable.

you guys are taking a beating and need a break. I hear Malta is nice. Following your gas woes. I thought you had already got a refillable bottle. I went to get one but it was nearly £200 and lady told me it had to be fitted by a registered installer and the kit would cost another £100. I asked if I could just take the bottle to an lpg pump and she said it wasn't allowed anymore due to lots of accidents. Got the feeling it was just a ploy to sell the kit and install fee.

the Lake District is wet in a west highland type way. hope the lens dried out and you are cooking with gas again. the weather will be good for a week starting Friday 18 th wherever you are , iain w Sheffield

Why are you going to Manchester for Gas??? There's gas 6kg in Morecambe and maybe in Milnthorpe there definitely in stock at Skipton Hire Center 21.55. Oh well never mind, don't think we're all out to fleece people this side of the border. I wish you both the best!

I think freedom is vastly underrated. When we reach out for some of it, namely taking a motorhome somewhere, there is either someone with their hands out for money or barriers to stop you parking. Your comments on England are a sad indictment.

Hi Gemma Campbell,,I have a karcher hand held window vac I also use it to do my shower sides with it and my wet room floor,marvellous thing you will wonder how you managed with out it ,,Campbell what are you like drop your lens in the water 💧 and along comes Wonder Woman strips of and in she goes not thinking about her safety or how cold it is but Wonder Woman pulls it of and recovery’s your lens from the deeps of the freezing water 💦 I hope you treated her well ,what a beautiful place you took us to loved the house built on a bridge that different,you cut that close getting out the car park most car parks give you 15 minutes grace to get out ,I hope you only brought one gas canister at £38 pounds what did Gemma say normally they are about £25 pounds what a rip of shop you want to but the price of that shop in Google maps in the revenue part I would and have done ,great blog all sorts of things happen with Wonder Woman and robbery with gas people dropping things in the river lol it was a great blog to watch but I do go on a bit ,it’s because I love them you two as well take care keep safe drive careful, John 👏👏👀🌹👍😝🍀🍀💦💦😭🥶😎😎🥸
