Van Life: Brilliant diy remodel on this Winnebago camper van

Ойын-сауық

I tell you these engineers can sure build some amazing rvs and camper vans. Doesn't matter if they are starting from scratch or taking a brand new rv tiny house on wheels and redoing it. Their ideas are some of the best I have come across. Any nomad looking to do a DIY build in a vehicle, call an engineer for ideas🤣You'll be glad you did!!
In this video Steve, an engineer turned ICU physician, took his newly.purchased 2022 Winnebago Solis and promptly started.modifying it to better meet his family of 4's needs. I love the changes he made to.make it more functional. Let me know in thr comments ts what your favorite modification is.
I am trying to figure out how to use the pop up table idea in a van conversion I am working on right now. Guess I better call an engineer.
Oh yeah. I have one on speed dial, Pascal. After you watch this video you can tune in to
GLOW LIVE Saturday 5/11 @3pm pst, 6pm est and talk directly to Pascal about some of the brilliant ideas he used in the build for 82 yr old Teresa. • After 3 Years, 82 Yr O...
See you later today

Winnebago and other RV manufacturers should get ideas from his modifications. He really improved the Solis' design a lot.

I really appreciate this video. I'm not an engineer, per se, but I have tinkered with, and 're-engineered' some things to make life a little bit easier along the way, even though I'm still in sticks & bricks. Our plan is to get a simple RV to hitch our tiny Toyota to visit some state campgrounds. We're both mid '50s and have decided that we would much rather be able to fire up the RV and take three short staycation weekends than one big long one in the middle of the year. We have become increasingly disheartened and basically disgusted with hotels over the past few years. You'd think w opening back up, you would expect that the hotel business would really step up to try and get people back. Not even close. Even the higher end has just turned me off. (WHY is it no matter what, the sticky spot ALWAYS finds MY bag!🤷‍♀️) But for the price we pay, we figured if we would modify our vacations and buckle down and save that money for 18 to 24 months, we could have a simple rv, something that we would both enjoy, and we could just drive to wherever we like to visit. It would also give us the opportunity to not have to deal with overhead noise, hauling everything out in front of oggling eyes, and dealing with the ever-increasing cost for the ever decreasing service. So much of social media is surrounded by the jazz hands people..the "if you don't have what I have, you're just a poor lost soul." I absolutely love your interviews because the overwhelming theme is "if it works for you, I'm happy for you." Or as I heard a long time ago: if you like it, I love it! ~Love the G.L.O.W!🥰🚐☁️☁️

I also loved the tabletop under the bench that folds up and out. Would love to see a modified use in a full time minivan with a fixed bed and the kitchen inside (not in the back).

Yes, obviously he uses for camping. They don't live in this land full-time. Cause that's good to know about these camp events, if you don't have to live in it, you can use it for all type of reasons whatever you do and save a lot of money whatever you do with it.

Thanks for plugging the skills of engineers. Of course, we all still have our individuality and ideas, but the mindset and training to break down problems into pieces which can be technically solved (with or without creativity, depending) is something that becomes ingrained. Just be careful around us.... If you tell a story, voice a complaint, or do anything we view as presenting a problem needing to be solves, that's what we'll set about doing. In relationships, I had to learn to tell the difference between a girlfriend complaining about something (whether about work, their car, or me, hahaha) to look for empathy versus to look for me to fix it. What's funny is that when I was married, I never had to think about that for a second. She was a classmate in engineering school, plus she would make it clear as to which one of us was in charge of each part of a project she had in mind. She'd divvy up what needed to be done or figured out, quite fairly, and hand me a list of assignments, and she'd rarely if ever complain whether I accomplished them a different way than she would have. But overall, it's a double-edged sword to have the same skill sets and methods of problem solving as a partner. There are big advantages to having complementary skill sets, though the downside of that is if one decides to criticize doing things differently from how they would, even if the same or better result is achieved.

My ex was an engineer with P.E.'s in two different disciplines. It really is like two people talking different languages with him being an engineer and me being a more free spirited individual with a musical background. I had to learn to speak his language as it was clear he wohldn't learn mine. That turned out to be beneficial to me as I learned a lot about project management which was a helpful skill when I became a foreperson in a manufacturing plant with a large oroduction schedule of various components that needed to be tracked for final assembly. It also helped me to better put together a logical fact based argument which was an asset when I became a journalist. My being open to learn different skill sets helped me to grow a great deal more than he did during our time together.

Such clever designs. Really flows better with the modifications. I sometimes wonder how some camper vans get approved with their designs. It’s just awful. This is a much better design and the bench is not only usable but multi purpose.
