I used to watch this all the time when I was little. It's amazing how nostalgic this is!

Had grandparents who told me about these. Its wonderfull to discover cartoons from this era aside from their social faux passe @ times, they make good insights to the mindframe of people @ the time. TYVM for posting this bit of history.

Opening music is recycled from 1931’s Trouble, a previous Tom & Jerry outing. To be more specific, the marching band scene in which T&J try to follow the band

Joseph Barbera. Hanna was over at Harman-Ising around 1932 in California. Van Beuren was New York

Sotiris Kosmas Just myself I prefer the 1932 Tom and Jerry myself, I just love the surrealism in them and the off the wall Pre Hays Code craziness of them as well., The 1940 Tom and Jerry's for me are just too formulaic and they became something of a standard for animation on the cheap for Hanna & Barbara especially in the late 1940's and 1950's onwards IMHO. But I'm probably more a Fleischer fan when it comes to vintage B&W cartoons than a Van Beuren one.
