A Waif's Welcome
Фильм және анимация
I admire the amount of subtilty in the characters in A Waif's Welcome (1936). The father is scared of his wife, but agrees to make her happy by taking in the orphan. The mother dotes on her child, but shows real compassion taking in the orphan. Disney alumni Burt Gillett and Tom Palmer brought focused plotting to Van Beuren Studios when they were brought in in 1933. This cartoon is a far cry from V’an Beuren Studio’s Gypped in Egypt!

Pre-TV cartoons used to be shown a lot on kid's TV, ACA, back when they were scrambling for content in the '60s. I'm surprised there isn't a cable channel devoted to classic cartoons - many of them are in the public domain.
I liked this 1936 cartoon that is the age of my mother who fortunately is still alive and I appreciate that you share this type of cartoon because I had never seen this story "A Waif's Welcome" that has a good message and moral . . . I give you a "Like" and I subscribe to your channel and I wish the best in the world for your family and for you . . .🌲 🎆Merry Christmas🎄 and a Happy New Year🎊 to all of you who watch these cartoons.

This must be the cartoon schoolteachers saw when they were young. That's why whenever you're being bullied they ask if you've told your abuser that you don't like that, like it would accomplish anything.
Thanks! Gotta love these '30s cartoons, a whole different feel to them. Check out the other public domain cartoons on my channel!
Thanks for uploading. I've been looking for this for a while.
Totally agree with that boy's dad wanting to smack him at 0:42 as he is nothing but a delqiuent. I could see him making a jackess of himself if he was on Pleasure Island in Pinocchio.
